After they used it all.(thank you God) & Yes 5 years later, I'm still stunned by my experience here. However the blessing is. I love my new dentist & for less money then they quoted me, for doing work that wasn't necessary, I love my smile and my new dentist. I was able to get some cosmetic work done , for less than I was quoted here for work that apparently didn't need to be done. Thank you for sending me off to find a good dentist! I'm gonna give them 1 star for that reason.

MAH Horrible experience…read more I would like to preface this by stating that I have previously had a very positive opinion of Dr. Cohrs personally. I firmly believe his bedside manner, attention to detail, and dental work are truly impeccable, and I appreciated his clinical care during my previous visits over the years. During my most recent visit though, things had changed. I was told by the hygienist, Lyndi, that a panoramic X-ray was "required by law" to maintain their license, with implied risk if refused. No such Michigan law exists--regulations cover equipment safety only, not mandating patient imaging (per LARA-Licensing and Regulatory Affairs and Michigan Dental Association). My low-risk profile (excellent hygiene, no cavities in years, healthy gums, recent normal bitewings) showed no clinical need. ADA 2026 guidelines require panoramic only when necessary, to minimize radiation, not routinely. When I raised the issue feeling misled about Timberview losing their license, the hygienist called in the office manager who was beyond rude, defensive, interrupted repeatedly by obscuring and pivoting to "our standard of care," then asked my opinion of their standard. I said it felt revenue-driven rather than evidence-based. She immediately told me to leave. This was gaslighting: obscuring the obvious falsehood with vague "patient care standards" and punishing honest feedback with abrupt dismissal. Deceptive communication and unprofessional handling erode trust. Patients deserve transparency, not pressure and deflection. Unfortunately the unprofessional conduct of the office manager--particularly her repeated interruptions, twisting of the initial misleading statement, dismissive attitude, and abrupt decision to ask me to leave after I shared my honest opinion--has eroded my trust in the practice as a whole. Despite my high regard for Dr. Cohrs' skills and care, this experience will unfortunately prevent me from returning. Perhaps the business/name change to Timberview Dental has caused the business to now become profit driven over patient care driven. Be VERY careful about agreeing to unnecessary procedures that are lining their pockets.

I don't like that they charge more for cleaning services than Delta Dental allows but all else. Is top notch. I've been to other Portage dentist that not only try and talk you into unnecessary treatments to pad their income and Doc Kip and all the staff have a positive, welcoming, and listening level of engagement. In Portage I dealt with arrogant self important Dentist that thought all others were beneath him and not entitled to ask questions. Kip invites the conversation and you will also learn a little about his family too. Highly recommend.

Dr. Etheridge is the most skillful and caring dentist I have ever met. If there is one thing I am petrified of, it's dentists! I've been seeing him for five years, and I could not be more pleased. To give you an idea of just how comfortable he makes me feel, I actually fell asleep during a root canal! His staff is always friendly and personable. They are even doing a promotion right now that if they like their Facebook they will give you a free fluoride treatment!! The dental hygienists are very friendly and kind! They will work with you to do what is best for you and at an affordable cost! They talk to you but don't ask you a ton of questions while they have tools in your month. The dentists are nice and quick! Don't prolong your visit by making your wait. They are kind and give you a lot of positive feedback instead of critiquing you. There is a tv and radio for you to pay attention to if you want. And every room feels pretty secluded, so you don't need feel as vulnerable as at other dentist offices I have been to.
