I've been to the old restaurant located here and thought it was great. Last night I went to Row 34 and it wasn't quite as good. They have an amazing beer list, but the cocktails are very uninventive. We ordered the tower. It looked ridiculous because there wasn't way too much space for the amount of seafood. They really need a smaller lower level tray. It monopolized the table and had an enormous empty center of just ice. The oysters were delicious, but TINY. They made the clams look big. The shrimp had great flavor but were tough. The lobsters were extremely waterlogged. The shrimp "ceviche" is not really ceviche, but cooked shrimp in a juice with chopped fruit and veggies. It tasted fine, but with all the amazing ceviche on their menu, this was a lazy and boring addition to an already-shrimp-filled tower. It would have been MUCH different had they added a similarly priced non-shrimp and REAL ceviche. read more

Went to Row 34 on a solo date after looking through my bookmarks. I really enjoyed my night and was my definition of a great solo date experience. My server Raphael was attentive and super sweet and made me feel comfortable. The restaurant was definitely industrial chic and stunning ! I really appreciated their playlist. I really liked that the music wasn't too loud so I can read the magazine I brought. The food was good! I will be honest I wasn't totally blown away but their lobster roll was sooooooooooo good and I really liked their tuna crudo. The crab cake was good but I've definitely had better. We made our first trip to Row 34 last weekend, and I won't bury the lead, the food is wonderful. She had Mussels, shrimp cocktail, and the grilled zucchini. One complaint here the zucchini was very greasy. I had the warm buttered lobster roll and the Mexican street corn. Both delicious!! We each had a glass of wine. Here is where we fall off the bandwagon, first, the prices... and the pricing. $42 for the lobster roll, and $12 for the street corn. High! The mussels had a reasonable portion for the money and we liked the way the Shrimp was priced, by the piece. But $7 for bread and butter, give me a break!!!!!! Just plain ridiculous!!! Also the wine list, for a restaurant with these prices was extremely weak, especially the "by the glass" selections. Pricy, and not all that good. Then we get the the atmosphere, best descend as warehouse chic. The tables were not what you might expect for the price and although there was some sound dampening, it was still excessively noisy. Bottom line, if you go for the raw bar, you will not be disappointed, but otherwise, it's just another overpriced Boston Area restaurant that could a whole lot of things better. read more

Our party of 6 enjoyed a wonderful meal. I loved the restaurant's decor; it brought back memories of Island Creek, Boston. The food at this Row 34 was everything we were hoping for - outstanding! Equally important was the service - which could not have been better! Our server was friendly, attentive and efficient. Even the young lady she was training was pleasant, courteous and also attentive. Again though, the food was top notch! Island Creek Oyster is the restaurant that you want to like. It has everything going for it, ambiance, music, a varied menu that promises the world. Ultimately though, no matter how much you want to, it just does not hit that spot. Things we ordered: - Oyster sampler (not pictured) - Fish and Chip - Skate Wing - Clam Chowder Food - oyster sampler was decent, server running the oyster section was well informed and offered plentiful information about each oysters origin and taste profile. No complaints here. The fish and chip was soggy and tasted mostly of batter by the time we received it. Note that the service seemed overloaded as the dining room was sufficiently packed so the dish may have been left on the bypass too long. Clam chowder was decent but heavy cream and bacon do not make an elevated clam chowder worth $11. Skate wing was probably what took us home here. A well grilled fish overall, well-seasoned, excellent flavor and texture. If only this care and attentiveness carried over to the rest of the meal. I had the most confounding experience at Row 34 which pretends to be a bar and restaurant. I was there only because their far superior neighbor, Legal Sea Foods, is closed for renovations. I thought I'd start off with a Crown Royal Manhattan. Sorry, I was told, they don't have Crown Royal. Okay, then bring me a simple glass of domestic light beer. Sorry, they don't carry any of those, either. Then I went to order salmon from their very limited menu but was told -- sorry again -- that they wouldn't blacken it for me. My wife wanted to order the Branzino but was told, sorry, they wouldn't fillet it for her. I wound up with their very mediocre crab cake. The side of fries for $8.00 was very good, but I could have had that at McDonald's for a fraction of the price. read more

After having a 5 star experience at row 34 in Boston, I was looking forward to a similar dining experience in Burlington without the need to drive into the city. The overall look and feel of this restaurant is elegant and fancy. I love the large open dining area and everything is very clean and modern. I came for a light lunch with my husband and I must admit, the dinner menu looks much more intriguing. We mainly came for oysters but decided to order a few other side dishes to accompany the oysters. We did end up trying every oyster on the menu and all were fresh and clean which was great. We got the Brussels sprouts, croquettes and fried oysters on the side. The only thing I would not recommend here is the Brussel sprouts. They were soggy and tasteless with just a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese as flavoring. Although that dish was quite disappointing, we had a wonderful experience overall. read more

Brunch review So surprised how empty this place was for Sunday brunch. I'd been to the Comm Ave location and was very disappointed, so was hesitant to go to the new location. I'm glad I give this place a chance because the brunch was incredible. The drinks were amazing. My lobster benny was delicious with tons of lobster! Everything was fresh hot and flavorful, the only complaint I had would be the potatoes were under done but besides that, it was a wonderful brunch. Service was great and perfectly paced. Service was great. Oysters are amazing. Ordered the whole branzino expecting it to be whole with the backbone but with the small bones taken out. Took one bite and got about 7 small bones. Too much for a customer to remove on their own for $40. Restaurants typically split fish open, Debone the small bones, and out back together leaving the backbone and fish intact. Ended up ordering the fluke which was very good but took an additional 30 min so I was eating when my dining mates were all done. Suggestion...tell the customer that it is not a deboned whole branzino and that it tends to be a very bony fish. Those could get caught in someone's throat. Also, green beans were VERY spicy and just thrown on top. There is zero mention of spicy on the description of the fish or the pickled onions on top. Please put accurate descriptions. The menu says "haricot vert" which indicates green beans which is what I was expecting. I have had branzino in many restaurants and was looking forward to this all week and was really disappointed. I feel like the meal I received wasn't close to what the menu promised especially with the green beans and pickling. I enjoyed the fluke much more. Lobster roll is almost $50 and comes with nothing and leaves much to be desired as far as portion. And to be honest, we never ask for anything and tip very well. I was very surprised to see the fluke on the bill. Especially after the description of the branzino was not clear and waiting for 30 additional minutes for the fluke. We weren't offered anything as compensation which is not required but would have made our experience much better. We probably won't be back. But again, the service was very good. read more

Our office holiday party has been held here for the past few years. The food and service is really good and they kept the food and drinks flowing for the duration of our stay. The bbq sliders were my favorite since I am allergic to they oysters and shrimp cocktail that looked absolutely amazing. I was told by many people that they were very good. The drinks were strong and delicious. I tried 3 cocktails from the menu and each one was better than the last. I appreciated how well the service was for the holiday party, the restaurant was completely filled (every table) but there was no delay with our drinks from the bar. I will definitely be back. Row 34 is the rebooted and rebranded Island Creek Oyster house. The reboot serves the space well with a freshened look/decor vibe that is welcoming. An overall small dinner menu, Row 34 focuses on getting these items right every time and rotates to whatever the freshest ingredients are. I really enjoyed the menu because each time you return you are treated to something slightly different -- this is good with a smaller menu so that you can become a repeat visitor without feeling like you are ordering the same thing every time. The Green Salad was simple, but it was big and it was tasty full of fresh vegetables with a nice light shallot dressing. The dinner was a cod with chorizo, beans, and butternut squash that was refined, light and fresh and left me feeling full/satisfied without feeling like I went too overboard. If you want something a little more robust I recommend the Lobster Pappardelle. The truffle butter with the lobster gives this homemade pasta a seriously elevated level of extravagance. I had a dirty vodka martini before my meal and it was made with the perfect amount of brine and the vodka was ice cold. I followed that with their Chardonnay by the glass which was also very good. Whether in The District or nearby, Row 34 is a great option for a dining night out. read more

I think it overpowered the flavor of the calamari, shrimp, mussels, and chorizo. The pieces of the chorizo were so tiny I could barely see or taste it. The rolls which you had to pay for were good. The salad was nondescript and not worth $11. The white wine was the best part of the meal. The dessert butterscotch pudding was meh. The food (oysters) were a solid 4 may be 4.5 it was the inattention of the staff that was a 2, and very costly. We came to Row 34 to try the $1 oysters. We were able to find a seat at the bar and the bartender brought us some water and the oyster menu. We looked over the large selection and placed our order for 2 doz. oysters. They arrive in short order and we dove in. We quickly figured out our favorite (the house oyster - Row 34 from Duxbury), and were enjoying the others. Several of the others had a few that were quite small, but for $1 an oyster, we weren't going to quibble... and they were still good. The couple next to us was looking at the oyster menu as well, and they asked us which ones we had gotten. At that moment the bartender came up to them and asked if they wanted the happy hour dollar oysters, he'd bring them THAT menu... We looked at each other and went.... OH S#*+... So because we didn't know to ask for the $1 oyster menu, and the bartender didn't give us the dollar menu, we left $90 poorer, and just a bit frustrated that the bartender never thought to offer us the dollar menu. read more

A soul-soothing comfort food which I could have enjoyed as a meal on its own. The crab cake appetizer was well made, lightly breaded with a tasty aioli and plenty of deliciously roasted pistachios. I wanted more of the grapefruit section as well. It all melded together nicely. Fish taco was deemed 'the best I've ever had' by my friend. Our husbands both had the burger and fries and judging by by the complete lack of even a crumb on their plates they were equally enjoyable. Came here after getting burned by our old go-to raw bar in Boston. Don't let the humble "not Boston, not Gloucester" location fool you; these guys know their stuff. We got a seafood tower and asked the server to give us a flight of his favorite oysters, and it was awesome. I am a simple woman; I usually group oysters into 2 groups: "tasty" and "tastes like a sex act." The flight was a wonderful way to taste a variety of different kinds of oysters, all delicious and all with their individual personalities. The seafood tower was great and reasonable for the price (FWIW, I like seafood towers for the variety, but I also personally factor in the whole part of a seafood tower being part food and part public act of opulence). Had such a lovely time here last weekend! We came for Sunday brunch. The decor here is simply beautiful. This is a much more spacious option compared to the Fenway location. We were annoyed at the beginning of our brunch when our server seemed to have forgot about us for 15 minutes. But he made up for it by providing good service for the rest of our brunch and for giving me a very generous white wine pour. Also at 2 pm the restaurant was out of every oyster except Island Creek which seemed suspicious. I ordered: Lobster roll - 5 stars (I just wish the options it came with had substitutes. Not a huge fan of the coleslaw) 6 dozen Island Creek oysters - 5 stars I would definitely come back here with friends and family. Well, I see my review is a bit below the average rating, but I have share my experience with my fellow foodies. Came here tonight really excited for a nice meal with a good friend. The atmosphere was nice; spacious, and comfortable. I had a nice craft beer, and the chicken sliders appetizer was tasty. The problem I had was mostly with the main chicken dish. It was 2 small chicken breasts. Grilled. And not a single drip of any sort of sauce to be seen. I mean, if you are going to serve plain grilled chicken, it is going to have to be out of this world. Even a great piece of chicken needs a little help from a gourmet sauce or aioli. But no. Just 2 dry grilled pieces of chicken. It was heartbreaking. The sides were good. But the meat is really the highlight of the meal imo, and this just didnt work for me. My friend got a steak. They didn't ask how he wanted it cooked. He would have preferred it a bit more rare. So, while the sides and apps were good, the main focus was disappointing. I may be back for something else. Drinks and apps seem safe. Just not sure about the meat execution. read more

My first time here...came for Father's Day brunch with the family. Awesome 1st impression upon walking in ...well done! Everyone is very friendly & our waitress was a real people person. The dining room area is very well done with ...oyster shells in steel cages against the walls..nice touch!! Their craft beer selection is excellent... my wife's Cosmo was also very good but the martini glass was a bit on the small side. If you like oysters, you won't be disappointed. I got the Ichabod Flats, Yummy! My wife got the clam chowder which was excellent. For my main course, I got the salt cod croquettes..tasty but not overly impressed, small portion. My wife got the tuna melt sandwich which was a filling portion and tasty. Need to go back for the dinner menu for a better overall opinion...so my 4 star rating is conditional on how dinner pans out. read more

I love this location way better than the Fenway. If you have a car, it's totally worth it to drive a bit further. The restaurant is huge and there's free parking! What more can you ask for. The ambience is very chill, I love the decor, it makes me feel like I'm eating oysters by the ocean. Everything tastes fresh and the wait staff is amazing- super patient and very informative.
