HORRIBLE! Horrible workmanship and customer service! I paid almost $1800 to have brakes done all around. The brakes continued to make noise after being done and I thought maybe it was just new parts being worn in. The noise continued and got worse. It sounded like the bottom of my car was going to fall out when going over any bumps. I brought the car back to them and asked that they look at it for me and they refused. The owner Kevin began yelling at me and told me to get out. I brought the car to Firestone that day and it was discovered the brakes were not secured properly, bolts had fallen out, bolts were loose, caliper not in place. It cost me another $150 to have the brakes secured properly. Not a BBB business! Filed a complaint with BBB and the business has not responded. read more

Waste of money! These guys are crooks! $63 to repair two lawn mower tires....Are you kidding me! I get it this place gets no business' and is over staffed, but overcharging to plug a couple of tires is not the way to secure long term customers. read more

I'm updating my review after removing my valve cover from my 2005 Nissan Altima after I found oil on an ignition coil stem. It led me to believe that oil was leaking from the rocker assembly up into the valve cover. The mechanic said I just needed a tune up to fix the misfiring problem I was having which was the wrong diagnosis that I paid $133 for. I found that four of the seals were damaged in the valve cover and oil was getting on top of a spark plug and fouling one of the coils. The only way to fix this was to replace the valve cover. The point being on top of a misdiagnosis charge I paid they wanted me to pay $1800 for a tune up a a wheel bearing change. I think their mechanic should look into a job changing oil at jiffy lube or Midas mufflers or something similar. I wound up buying 4 coils and a new valve cover and fixed it myself and now it's not misfiring or losing oil. read more

Whatever makes you sleep at night Lisa! I wouldn't take it back your shop if it was the last shop on earth. We weren't looking for free work we were hoping you to be decent people and diagnostic the car considering just last year we spent thousands to get the car fixed to have the engine light turn on 2 days later. And your point is that we should have brought it right back in. You guys had my car 5 times in a month and half span. If that's not a red flag I'm not sure what is. Can you say REALLY BAD. This shop did unauthorized repairs and tried to gouge with a triple rate increase. Then followed up with a phone call message using abusive language to the customer, when the customer dared ask about the costs. Looking at Facebook you can tell this is not the first time. Hello, I bought a 2006 Jeep Liberty from Route 83 Auto. Tony accomodated every request I had, and fixed and expedited the minor issues with the vehicle. He brought my truck through emissions before I picked it up which was very convenient, one less thing to worry about. The registration process was the quickest I've ever seen. Tony was able to register it right inside the office. The day I was to get the Jeep, Tony came and picked me up at my condo. I noticed they had washed the truck and had it ready for me outside the office. I was in and out and on my way in 30 minutes. I reccommend this dealer to anyone thinking about buying a used car. Do not buy a car from them without getting a second mechanic's opinion. Bought a car 2 years ago and the day after I picked it up, check engine light came on with a catalytic converter error. Brought it back and they said if I purchased the part, they'd take care of the labor. I took the work elsewhere. I know I bought this car "as is," but why wasn't the car fully inspected prior to me purchasing it, as they claim they did. It also came with a "clean" car fax report. I should've looked up the vin myself, because I have now found that out to be a farce. They claimed the car was regularly maintained at West Springfield Subaru. Fast forward to last week when I brought the car into Suburban Subaru in Vernon for a diagnostic scan and they tell me there's an open recall on my car from YEARS ago. The recall was so old, the replacement parts had to be special ordered. They also told me if this car had been maintained at a Subaru dealership like Rt. 83 claimed, this recall would've been caught and fixed YEARS ago. Shame on me for rushing into the purchase, but DO NOT buy a car from them!! read more

Deceptive and fraudulent business practices! I had my vehicle towed to inspect a "no start" on my car and received a phone call from the mechanic indicating that work was already done at the cost of $799 without authorization from me! SHAME!!!! On that note, it was then realized later that a "miscommunication" occurred and that the bill was $176 without my authorization - then they decide to hold my vehicle for 3 days indicating that a tow truck would not be available until then to return my vehicle to my residence. It was also stated that the towing charge would applied to my bill which wasn't! Had a fairly expensive repair on two autos by RT83. First repair they left a tool in the engine compartment and didn't hook up one of the coolant hoses, thus coolant all over the engine that required them to clean the engine compartment and complete the repairs correctly. Second repair resulted in them again leaving a tool in the engine compartment and put a pin prick hole in the coolant line. Slow Leak of coolant - so much for testing their repairs. Had to buy a replacement hose and had it installed. Give them the benefit of the doubt that they didn't put the pin hole in the hose removing it from the car. But obviously they didn't check the car before turning it over to me. Too many problems!!!! They try but not good enough. read more

From the time the car was towed we received caring attitudes and professionalism. After we explained another car was needed as this one had gone to heaven, they were so generous and courteous in allowing us to keep the car there till we could arrange to have it removed - and didn't charge us a penny. They were helpful in all respects - so much so, that I even decided to get my oil changed that day at almost a 50% reduced price from where I had it serviced prior. I also highly recommend also the sales side - they were patient with us as we took time to go to many places and test drive vehicles before deciding to purchase from them. From the towing to the sales - excellent staff - family oriented and easy to deal with - I highly recommend them to all my friends and family and will continue having my car serviced there going forward. When my car made a loud banging noise while making small turns or going over bumps it was evident I had a suspension issue so I went to Route 83 Auto. They said that it wasn't suspension related and were confident it was the rear differential which they said had to be replaced. After paying $1,200 to have the rear differential replaced the problem was still there. I asked the mechanic to drive with me and after 20 feet he said I had a suspension problem. Resolution occurred when I went to another mechanic who identified it was suspension related and fixed it for $200. read more

I had my car towed and serviced at Route 83 and was not impressed. it took almost a month for my car to be repaired with little communication that parts were backordered. It was clear that Kevin and the rest of the staff were only concerned about the deductible. Diane at the front desk told me my car would be ready at a certain time and when I called to confirm pickup the time was changed and it was only because I called. She stated my car would need some more time as they wer cleaning it up and geting it ready for me and when I arrived my car was dirty.. clearly they did not wash it like she stated.I was inconvenienced and was not happy with the service. Kevin was extremely rude when I complained about the alignment of the hood of my car and he told me that I needed to contact my insurance company as I should not expect for him to go above and beyond!! No customer should ever feel like they don't deserve to be treated with respect or have someone not go above and beyond. I gave them an opportunity to work on my vehicle and I regret I gave them that chance. I would never recommend this auto repair shop to anyone I know. This was truly the worse experience ever and I will never give Route 83 my business!!!! Treat people with respect!!! read more
