One of the best diners in our area.. Ultra clean and decorated very nice. Bathrooms are like you would find in the AC Casinos. The owner loves his diner and it shows. He is there all the time and asks how everyone dinner was. We had breakfast over the weekend and it was excellent.. Portions big and prices very fair. All the food is excellent too. We went here in the middle of the night bc it was the only diner open and it was disappointing. Honestly, having spent many summer nights in Jersey diners I didn't think you could go wrong but here we have route 130. My coffee cup came dirty and my hash browns tasted freezer burnt. Excellent diner. The food is excellent and the service is even better. Our waitress gave us our food for cheaper than the menu said and gave us a huge slice of cake for the usual price. Had to drop my grandson off for camp, so I thought I'd try the 130 diner for breakfast. Really not impressed. Eggs with pork roll were fine. What really turned me off was the "home fries". All they were was the left over baked potatoes from the day before. Bland, tasteless and covered half the plate. I understand why diners do this but it sure won't keep me coming back. Some nice hash browns or true home fries would really do the job. Maybe if you have three dozen baked potatoes left over each night, you might cook a little less? read more

I have been to the 130 Diner on a few other occasions. All my visits have been great On the most recent visit we came in for a late lunch that went head to head with the after church rush. We waited about 5 minutes for a table. Our waitress was patient and accommodating. We placed our order off of the specials menu which includes your entree,soup or salad, two sides and a desert. I had the chicken and broccoli which was tender pieces of chicken in a lemon butter sauce with Broccoli and Harry had the baked haddock. Both meals had enough for two meals each. The special price was 11.99. Can't cook for that. Next up is breakfast at the 130 diner. 3.59 for two eggs,toast and home fries!!! The food is of high quality. read more

We've eaten here about 4 or 5 times since my last review, and it has been consistently outstanding so I decided to update my review. The french dip is the best I've had in ages. Didn't even need any mayo because the cheese gets so melty and creamy. I always get a side of horseradish to put on it as well, its awesome and adds a great extra layer of flavor without any extra fat or calories. (bonus!) The Gyro is HUGE and better than any other diner around. The tzazaki (spelling? lol) sauce is great too, the pita is soft and fresh, and the best part is of course the meat. its tender and full of flavor and moist. other diners you can tell the meat has been in the freezer forever and is dried out and crunchy. lol All the soups are wonderful. The french onion is so comforting and I'm pretty sure the Lentil soup could cure cancer. And if you order the garlic bread to dip in the soup....its divine. It's the best garlic bread I've ever had. It just is. I can't even explain it. It must have copious amounts of butter and garlic. That's ok with me. :) My daughters whole entire plate of pancakes were literally gone... devoured... before I could even blink or snag a bite for myself... so I am going to assume that they were pretty darn good. lol And the plain 'ol grilled cheese sandwich that my mother in law ordered.... omg. Well, it was about 3 inches thick on texas toast. She loved it. One of these days I will get to try the German Chocolate Cake that everyone raves about. Every time I go they have already run out though. I gotta get there before the early birds I guess.... lol But really, I gave 5 stars for consistency. Every time we go there, they are CONSISTENTLY amazing. Service, food, the owner/manager always talks to us to make sure our food is right.... Went to the Route 130 diner after some shopping at Sam's Club. The Diner had only a few other diners when we arrived (8 am), but filled up around 8:30am. We both got omelettes, which were pretty good. I had the Philly Cheesesteak Omelette, which had steak and cheese, but not that authentic Philly Cheesesteak flavor. The home fries were a bit bland. Overall, a good (and inexpensive) breakfast, but there is definite room for improvement. read more

How have I not reviewed this diner? It is hands down one of my favorites. Though it was a bit of a trek when I worked in Pennsauken, it was worth the scramble up 130. At lunch time, this place is abuzz with diners. The staff seems predominantly Greek during the day. Lately, I have eaten here more often in the wee hours, and the staff is more diverse. Irrelevant! The service is solid. Inside, the booths are comfy and floor clean. Bathroom is nothing special and also clean. The parking lot is too small for this diner. On Christmas Eve, my family typically goes to the Golden Dawn for dinner. Since it burned down recently (2013) I pushed for Rt. 130 and the fam obliged. We circled once or twice in the lot before finding a spot. This has happened on a couple other days of no particular note; the diner is just that popular. Everything I've eaten here has been pretty wonderful. A breakfast sandwich bagel is a legit perfectly toasted and fulsome bagel. Home fries have a good crispy-to-not ratio, though by default they come plain without onions or peppers. When I tried French onion soup for the first time at another diner within the past year, it was super sweet and a major disappointment. Some friends convinced me to give it another try here, and I have had it at least twice since then. That crock of onion, broth, and a comforter of cheese is delicious. The owner here should consider selling mugs with the diner logo/Route 130 symbol on it. And other things if they want. I would buy that in a heartbeat. Yes, I'm certain they don't already sell such items... I've asked before. This is a Jersey diner to be proud of. read more

Update - 8/2015. We continue to be very satisfied with the prices, food quality, food quantity and service here. A manager is always on duty and frequently gets your beverages when you sit down. I like that... they are very involved and care. I recently got breakfast for dinner and have to admit the home fries were easily half a day OLD, like they were made for breakfast 12 hours earlier and heated back up numerous times. They were break-your-teeth hard to eat, so I left them. But the eggs and breakfast meat was very fresh. The servers here are prompt and know their stuff. They're pretty attentive, checking on your food to see if you're pleased and getting your drinks refilled. I really want to mention that the reviews about this place being very old and dated are just not right. This building used to be a Burger King that was gutted down to the studs and painstakingly renovated to the current owner's specifications. He's the guy that opened the diner, and he's still the owner. That wasn't too many years ago. The tables, chairs, booths and rest rooms are all in well-maintained condition. And some booths have already been reupholstered, so I'm really having to wonder about why people would say it's old. It really isn't. read more

I'm in the parking lot of this Diner just finished what they called was a breakfast I'm a big fan of Jersey diners this one doesn't count covid rules are one thing but the place is not managed well at all. The food was cold and tasted funny I had not one, but two hairs won the home fries which I did not eat then I found another one on the toast plate they were short and I'm only praying at this point. When I got to the register the girl said how was everything I said not good at all and she gave me the automatic that's great! Ignoring totally anything I was saying they were too busy with their automatic replies. I would never go to this place again and never recommended I'm afraid that I will be sick shortly read more

A really good diner. Came here for New Year's Eve dinner and they were so friendly and the food was amazing. I ordered a monte crisco. The food came fast and hot. Everything looks amazing. Has a large menu with lots of choices. Also open 24 hours which is really convenient. Would highly recommend if your near here. read more

Feb.17 , 2014 I have gone to this diner many times. There food is delicious and there is lots of it. There prices are very reasonable. The people that own the business are Turkish. They really know how to prepare their dishes. The staff there is well trained and fast. As soon as you are seated they come and take your drink order. The manager himself comes and does this also to make sure everyone is seated quickly and will be ready to order in a matter of minutes. The portions are large. I have ordered chicken casadias many times and they are one of the best in the area. They are thick and loaded with grilled chicken, veggies and lots of cheese. Their breakfasts are also large and very tasty. They don't skip on anything and their waiters and waitresses are very friendly. It is a great place to eat and socialize with your friends. Late night service is bubbly, and the setting truly sets a cliche NJ diner theme. On the other note, there was a lot of flies, and the food came questionably quick (pre-frozen obviously). Terrible customer service at front of restuarant but server was nice! I found a baby cockroach running around on my omelette and my fork.

Food at lunch time or dinner time is good. However that overnight shift the food is awful. There are times when ill order for takeout at around midnight 1 pm hour. Food is brought out by the manager in a foam box, often times the order is cold and or incomplete. Last night was no exception - gyro, onion rings - asked for marinara which is how they serve their onion rings as app, and extra tzatziki sauce. I live one mile from the diner. Got home opened the foam box - onion rings were not even warm, marinara wasn't hot, tzaziki sauce was not even tzaziki sauce but thick glob of sour cream with diced cuke in it - no dill, no lemon juice no seasoning whatsoever. Meat in the Gyro was lukewarm, I was sitting at the counter waiting so it was brought out o me. What amazes me is the manager checks the food and had to know how it was not even. Awful. Don't waste your money on the overnight shift. read more

We've eaten here before and have always enjoyed the service and the food has been great. But this evening the service was in disarray and food soso. 3 people came up to us to take our drink orders. Once things were straightened out or drinks came we placed our order I asked for a deluxe Texas burger with Mayo on the side, my daughter had a opened face sandwich with a Caesar salad. Well the Caesar salad was a handful of lettuce thrown on the plate with a dribble of dressing on it. Hmm where was the care, where was the parm cheese, where was the croutons? Very disappointing. Our entrees arrive no problem with my daughter's but I get a burger with onion and cheese. So I asked about the bbq sauce, onion rings lettuce and tomato as well as Mayo on the side. Our waitress states "you didn't ask for the deluxe so you don't get it. So now you want it". She just walks away. I have no idea if she's coming back with what was left off or waiting another table. She eventually came back with a piece of lettuce some shriveled up bacon and 1-2inch thick sliced tomatoes. Still no bbq sauce and no Mayo. Tried to get her attention a couple of times but she ignored us. It would seem that be we were bothering her from the moment we got there or she had a bad shift and some of her "heat" was being taken out on us. If you're a waitress/waiter you are there to serve people. When you get a new table it's a new group of friendly people looking to you to guide to the best food. I used to waitress and yeah there were jerks but not everyone is a jerk and shouldn't be treated so. She was rude and disrespectful be ware of the staff. read more

We love this Diner!! My Husband & I have been coming here for over a year now. I usually get the a Turkey Club Sandwich. It is the best the bacon is so crispy every time!!The Turkey is fresh & so is the lettuce & tomato. It comes with soup & French Fries. The fries are amazing full cut & hot!! Ive ordered off the dinner menu also.Any entree I've had is delicious & the sides are always fresh.I was there Wednesday with my granddaughter & a friend for lunch. Unfortunately it was so hot in the Diner ,asked the Manager to turn the heat down. He did ,I saw the thermostat it was 75 degreesThe last few times we were there it was so uncomfortably warm I asked for a box to go & walked out.We were thinking of going tonight? Chose not to. Just your ordinary diner but priced just right compared to some of the other place around. Portions are good size and service is pretty quick. The place is always busy, even on a Friday night during the summer when everyone should be going to the shore. Eaten here for lunch and dinner only and have enjoyed both. This is a decent diner. I come in every couple of months, the only down fall is its kind of expensive for anything EXCEPT breakfast, the breakfast you get a lot for your buck, so if you're looking just for a good decently cheap but plentiful breakfast this is the place to go. If you're looking for a legit dinner-type meal then i'd look elsewhere (unless its like 1am) because it can get expensive for a diner, but the service is always good as well so its worth a try if you're in the area. read more

Its the Thanksgiving holiday, good friend of mine from High school was in town, so on rainy Tues night, we stopped over here to chat.Just for some coffee, etc. This was renovated Burger King, the owners re-vamped inside& out.Never been inside, it was quite impressive, clean & spacious. The waitresses were attentive& even though we didnt order hardly anything, they were just as pleasant. Coffee & pudding.. Yeah our bill wasnt even $5.00. I had a late night dinner here last nite with my daughter. The location of this diner once had a Burger King. Well lucky for us local the Burger King closed & Rt 130 Diner opened. The menu is classic jersey diner fare. The diner is clean, service was great and for 11pm on a rainy Thursday nite they were fairly busy, a good sign. I had the patty melt. It was cooked perfectly & the meat was fresh. They also had sautéed mushrooms included with the melt a nice touch. My daughter had the veggie wrap, full of sautéed veggies & provolone cheese. She enjoyed her wrap but wished they had added more red peppers & less broccoli, but not a big deal. The dessert case looked delicious, will try next time & likely share with my dining partner. Service was a little slow at first but probably because they were a bit crowded. After ordering, the food came out promptly. Chicken wings are good (nice and crispy).
