There's apparently a venue on the second floor as well, but we only went to the rooftop bar open to the public. There was a decent crowd on a Friday night with one bartender - probably not gonna cut it long term when everyone's ordering Old Fashioneds. I was very grateful to get waited on first. They did not have Makers Mark at the bar, so I went with Bulleit instead and that doesn't really bother me. Just might need to get a few kinks worked out. It was still chilly outside so having some sun was very welcomed. There's not a ton of natural shade aside from parts of the building depending on time of day, so I hope there will be some awnings or something as we go into summer. This is a fun spot and some rooftop dining is lacking in the area so it certainly fills a void. Even if it's just a suburban view, there's something that feels a little extra magical about a rooftop. An engagement party is supposed to be a joyful, celebratory occasion, but Michelle's incredibly rude demeanor cast a shadow over the entire function. She lacked basic customer service and professionalism. Instead of helping the event run smoothly, her attitude created unnecessary tension and actively ruined the atmosphere of the evening. A venue can be beautiful, but the staff makes or breaks the experience. Based on how Michelle treated us, I absolutely do not recommend patronizing this establishment. Save your money and host your special moments somewhere that actually values its guests.

We finally made it in and were lucky enough to be seated on the second floor and the host was kind enough to accomodate our request for a window table. My husband and I weren't super hungry so we shared an order of their tandoori salmon, raita, and an order of their garlic naan. All of it was top notch. The salmon was savory and flavorful, the raita provided a nice refreshing balance (as did what I believe was Dahi Wala Slaw which came on the side), and the garlic naan was lightly crispy as well as garlicky. My husband and I spent hours going through their repertoire, listening to quartet versions of the songs on YouTube and carefully selecting what we wanted to hear. We provided the list to the contact person, but our selections were completely ignored. In fact, they didn't even play the song (Air on the G String, pretty standard fare) I had chosen for my bridal party to walk down the aisle to. I don't even know the song they actually played. Every time I hear A on the G String, I'm brought back to that moment and I am annoyed. They played the theme to Super Mario Brothers during my cocktail hour. Cute? Kind of. Not on my list though, and not what I wanted to hear. The played a lot of classical musical. (Also not on my list.) I wanted to hear Stairway to Heaven and Dave Matthews Band, which is why I spent so much money on a string quartet instead of hiring a group of college students. Additionally, after the ceremony they were to go to the reception location and being playing there. When I walked into my cocktail hour, their instruments were sitting by their chairs, but they were not to be seen. I said something to my dad and he mentioned he saw one down at the hotel internet cafe on the computer. What?! Seriously?! My father went down and got him. His response? "Oh, we didn't know we were supposed to play as people were entering." Like I said, my guests loved the quartet, but they didn't pay for something they didn't get. If I could go back, I would save $900 and hire the college students.

I attended a wonderful wedding last night at the only barn wedding facility in the state. Women…read morewore dresses, skirts and pant outfits. Men wore suits, business casual and jeans. The barn was nice and clean. They have beautiful bathrooms. The wedding ceremony was at 500pm in front of the oldest hickory tree in the county. They set up 200 chairs with an aisle down the middle for the wedding party to enter. The property has a nice area to take pictures and enjoy and outdoor pre-reception. Our reception was inside the barn we ate comfortably and heard bride and groom stories, prayer, a charge from the father of the bride. Dinner was catered by Thunder Bay Grill. The wedding party DJ played nice taped music during the dinner. Dessert was a cheesecake. At the end of the reception we launched balloons with lights in them sending off in the air on a new adventure, just like the bride and groom. A beautiful night. I highly recommend this facility.
