All during our recent 9 day trip to the Dells, my son was eying the second floor dining room (with…read morefloor to ceiling windows) of Swagat. Between that and the fact that he, my husband, and I all adore Indian food, we knew a stop here was a must. We finally made it in and were lucky enough to be seated on the second floor and the host was kind enough to accomodate our request for a window table. It was lovely to watch the hustle and bustle of Broadway from above while enjoying our meal. Our meal was amazing. My husband and I weren't super hungry so we shared an order of their tandoori salmon, raita, and an order of their garlic naan. All of it was top notch. The salmon was savory and flavorful, the raita provided a nice refreshing balance (as did what I believe was Dahi Wala Slaw which came on the side), and the garlic naan was lightly crispy as well as garlicky. We had no complaints about any of it! Our server was kind and accommodating throughout the and the prices are reasonable. Get to it!

Recently attended a wedding here and it is a beautiful space if you are going for the country…read morevibes. It is lawn parking for cars, keep that in mind when trying to figure out what shoes to wear. They have an open space for the ceremony outside which their staff sets up and takes down. I believe you can choose from seats or hay bales. The wedding I attended had hay bales for the guests and chairs for the family. The bathroom is in a renovated trailer and it was very clean and stocked with everything you might need in an emergency (brush, hairspray, wipes, clippers, pins, etc) I thought that was a nice touch. The actual barn that the reception was held in was spacious and beautifully decorated. They have a section in the back for the bar. There are stairs exits towards the back and front. * It's a nice place to have a wedding but make sure if you have any guests in wheelchairs this wouldn't be the location for you.

When we pulled up, a person who reminded me of Barney Fife from the Andy Griffith Show, directed up to park on a lawn. I showed him my handicapped parking placard and he said they don't have any parking for handicapped people. I would have expect better from a place a well put together. Some people have problems waling on uneven surfaces and he didn't care. Sorry, but if you are planning a wedding/reception and have no disabled guests this is fine, Otherwise you may want to look elsewhere.

My kids loved the basketball games, the climbing gym, car/gas station area and the big pillow to bounce on. When we first got there things were very manageable. A few kids not being watched by parents. Before we left there were many more kids which made it challenging to stay on the equipment with my 2 year old. Overall a fun space! It can feel very small when the place gets busy, but a great place to get energy out.

Manager on duty answered my call on check in day to confirm we had a 1st floor room (rolling in bikes) and give us an orientation when we checked in. Took care of getting me a replacement light bulb for one on the fritz. For $120 a night (no minimum stay), we got a fireplace suite double queen. Didn't test the fireplace but it had a serviceable coffee table, couch seating for three (no sofabed) and also a separate desk to work at. Fridge and freezer included. I forgot that there was vending in the building and Hardee's across the street closes at 10 p.m.! Beds were comfortable and shower was efficient. Inside/outside sinks make it easier for folks to get ready. Relaxed - did not test TV for streaming. Wifi was fine. Sorry no photo! No frills inn - so lobby is small for seating, so some folks hung out outside to enjoy the great Friday evening. Folks are friendly enough...don't get nervous and think it is nefarious loitering...not your town. Evening was quiet - slept well to sunrise.

Clean, well lit, well decorated, well furnished, and very comfortable. The only things surviving the transformation are the outer shell, the more than ample parking lot, and the spacious covered porch, to accommodate outdoor dining. The menu is sparse, the only offerings at the time of our visit were sliders, pulled pork or chicken at $5 each, a chicken and peach salad at $10, a desert that we didn't make note of, and assorted beverages. My wife had chicken slider, I had the pork, and the salad. Each was delicious. The salad was garnished with an ample drizzle of balsamic glaze making a very acceptable presentation. A chicken-peach salad was a unique offering that made a very pleasant duet of sweet and savory. Our hostess/server was friendly and attentive. She promised regular menu changes and openly related the experience of converting the old and abandoned second hand shop to an inviting venue for weary highway (26 & 60) travelers. We will return.
