My review is not for Round Table, which I love, but for my experience at this location. I often go to the Bellingham location, and I've been treated perfectly there. They are always friendly, helpful, and accommodating. I happened to be in Burlington and was hungry. The only thing that sounded good was salad. Round Table has pretty darn good salad, and it's a great value for me to get their personal pan pizza + salad bar to-go. I've also taken their new special - personal pan pizza + salad bar + breadsticks + dessert to-go. On this occasion, since I'd never been to the Mount Vernon location, I called ahead to make sure they had a salad bar before I drove there. They did. I asked the stoner who answered the phone if they had any carry-out specials that included the salad bar. He said no. I asked if they were an independent store, and he said they were connected to Bellingham. I told him about the meal I ordered at the Bellingham location all the time. He said it was a dine-in special only. No matter how many times I insisted that I've never once eaten this special in-store in Bellingham, and that I've always taken it to-go, he said I could not. It was my mistake that I went anyway. As I said, I was hungry, and I wanted salad. Absolutely nothing else around sounded good. The same stoner who took my phone call took my order. After placing my order, and being handed a tiny plate for my salad bar experience, I asked him why I could not take it to go, since they had to-go salad containers. He said Round Table makes more money if people eat their salad in the restaurant, than if they take it to-go. Nice. I did my best to create my masterpiece salad on the tiny plate, but all the dressing ended up in a small pool on the tip top, because otherwise it would've run off the sides of the plate. I can't believe how small the plates are for what is supposed to be a salad BAR. But I digress. I took my salad, which really was delicious, to my table to eat. They also brought me 2 breadsticks while I ate my salad, though it took them a REALLY long time to bring them to me. EASILY 20 minutes passed before I got my breadsticks. In their defense, I forgot to put my number on my table, but the restaurant was almost totally empty when I got there, and I sat right up front where they could see me. When I was nearing the end of my salad, it occurred to me that since the pizza was not all-you-can-eat (and evidently not their big money maker), and since I was not taking extra of the breadsticks or dessert, and not even taking a second trip to their salad bar, I should be able to take the rest to-go. When a different server brought me my pizza, I politely asked if he wouldn't mind bringing me a small box to take the pizza home in. He looked at me as though I'd asked him if he could add brains and eyeballs to my pizza. He did end up bringing me a box, but it was clear from his reaction that it was an unwelcome request. I put the pizza in it and one breadstick and waited for my dessert. And waited. And waited. I probably waited at least 20 minutes after the arrival of my mini pizza before I finally went to ask where my dessert was. The girl now working behind the counter smiled and said she would bring it right to me. More than 5 minutes passed before she came and told me it would be about 5 minutes before it was ready. Luckily, she asked if I wanted to take it to-go, and I said I did. 10 more minutes later, someone finally brought me my dessert, which they actually doubled, and I left. + The food is good. All of it. + It was nice that she doubled my dessert. But those were the only plusses in this negative experience. I will stick to my trusted Bellingham location, and will be unlikely to return to the one in Mount Vernon. ____________________ Update - 8/20/2010 The next time I went to the Bellingham location (where I've never had a single problem or bad experience), I asked when I was ordering the special if I could take it to-go. The girl taking my order said "sure!" I paid, she gave me my salad to-go box, and I went to make my salad. I had just finished making it and sat down to wait for the rest of my order when the girl came out and said her manager had just told her I could not take it to-go. This pizza is the bomb. Best I have had in a long long time. We will definitely be back for more. The way they cook their crust on the bumpy pan makes the crust taste crispy and awesome, they put the toppings all the way to the the edge of the crust which makes me actually want to eat the crust. Normally I love this place but they sure did disappoint last night! I ordered a pizza at 9pm and hour before they close. Got there to pay and opened the box to check it was correct. There were like maybe 10 pieces of meat on the whole large pizza (the only topping I ordered) and barely any cheese. In fact one piece didn't have anything on it at all. We visited the Mount Vernon Round Table before heading home, after a trip to the Tulip Festival. Ordering was simple and the co-worker who helped us with the ordering assisted with getting us the best deal for a family of five. The salad bar was stocked with relatively fresh ingredients, especially the Roma in lettuce. I'm used to scooping Browning and dry lettuce from salad bar bowls, but this one was crisp and looked freshly washed and prepared. Not all the items were even close to full and looked like they just had a swarm of people through for a dinner rush. The salad was pretty good though, and worth adding to our order. Our pizzas (King Arthur's Combo and a half Hawaiian, half cheese) were delicious! They were just what we wanted after tromping around in fields for hours. The crust was crisp, the ingredients plentiful, and the pizza hot. It was great! The significant negative with our visit was the cleanliness of the dining area. As I said before, it appeared that they just suffered from a large dinner rush, but in the hour we spent there, only one table was cleaned and cleared - and that was at the request of one of the other guests. All of the clean tables were now full, and the over half of the other tables had the remnants of previous diners on them. Would I eat here again? You bet - but I trust the dining area will be given greater attention to in the future. read more

Very friendly, courteous guys working. Prompt and delicious pizza however it was very pricey! We were one of two tables occupied and the staff was doing idle work keeping busy, napkin filling. However, the tables were sticky dirty - we tried two before we got a clean one. Overall it was a good experience - they were nice and we had good hot food. We have been wanting to try Round Table again since being back on this coast and it was what we remembered. We will probably be back. read more

The pizza is great. However, the service is lousy. This is the second time we picked up our pizza and waited forever at the drive up window, and we were the only car. The worst part is the lack of customer service. No acknowledgement, no thank you or have a good day. And the money was literally grabbed from my hand so rudely, enough for my passenger to notice. Their Pizza crust is different than I expected. Very crispy, which was kind of cool. We had the Garlic BBQ Chicken something. Cheese was pretty stringy, which I wasn't used to. Took the staff 5 minutes to realize my family was here. One lady noticed us but chose not to come greet us or let anyone else know we were here. The staff needs to learn to not chat away especially while working because it's takes away from them doing what they can for their guests. Our pizza took way longer then what it should have been. Ok. Everyone knows that Round Table Pizza is fantastic and their restaurant in Burlington Washington lives up to that reputation. But this location is "tired." The seat cushions are worn out and torn, the men's bathroom door won't close and the floors look horrible. The owner needs to put some of his profits back into this place. read more

The salad bar is decent. The pizza is always pipin hot. Not always good when you're in a rush. Does taste better than the local domino's and pizza hut. Leagues beyond little Caesar's. Doesn't take too long to get food on the table though. Wouldn't be opposed to visiting a few more times. read more

Round Table's 3 Course Value Meal was fantastic! In fact you get the salad bar, garlic bread sticks, a small pizza AND cinnamon sticks (that were bottomless!). A ton of food for $7.99 each. The service was really friendly too. Highly recommended. read more

The Last Honest Pizza? I don't know about that, but it is pretty good. The toppings are all top notch and the cheese is great, but the dough is merely decent. The buffalo wings are made of good quality meat, but have no heat or flavor. The garlic twists are edible and the salad bar is probably the best in town. The food is was way over priced! The salad bar is $6 per person and looks like everything is dumped directly out of bags and cans with no thought or care. The baby carrots are whole and the lettuce was browning. The pizza toppings also look like they came out of packages. For the price is expect much better. We won't be back again. Probably the worst experience i've had any any pizza place. We order a special which came with a pizza, twisted bread sticks, buffalo wings, and salad bar for $40.00. We got the buffalo wings which were warm on the outside and frozen in the middle when we bit into them. I immediately brought them back and they said they would fix it. About 15 minutes later they came back with the basket of buffalo wings, which were the now hot on the outside and cold when we bit into them a second time. I brought them back, they appologized, touched all teh wings to see if they were all cold then said they would fix it and bring them out to us. They came back about 15 minutes later after that with the same buffalo wings that everyone had touched (because one had a bite mark in it from when we brought it back). They had just re-heated it again and brought it back to us after I watched at least two employees touch the wings. I refused those wings and asked to have a whole new batch because all they did was reheat them after I watched people touch them to see that they were actually cold in the middle. VERY discusted at this point. Finally, after about another 15 minutes I got the wings back (not sure if they were the original or not) and we just had them boxed up and left. I was very discouraged at this Round Table Pizza restaurant. The level of quality was very below par from my experience from the buffalo wings as well as the garbonzo beans being slimy in the salad bar. On the upside, the pizza was good, but honestly if they take so few precautions for being clean and within health standards on their handling of the buffalo wings and the obviously bad food in the salad bar, I'm not sure what to think may or may not have been right or within health limits for the pizza. Great Pizza, friendly person at counter...that's all that was good. I was ordering to go and when I looked around to sit down the dining area was filthy....crumbs on chairs/booths, chairs not pushed in, garbage left out, food on floor, newspapers strewn about. 6 teens were working (5pm) and they were very LOUD and talking about lots of personal issues. At least 2 were standing around doing nothing while I was there waiting and one was reading the paper and discussing an article about bars/drinking....the other was eating croutons from the salad bar which were falling on the floor and then she walked on them. Ever walked into a music store or skate/surf shop to find a bunch of socially awkward loiterers mixed with the employees? Its hard because you just want to buy something and you cant tell who works there and who is just a boy/girlfriend, drug dealer, classmate, or a homeless person. Well that is the scene I found in the Mount Vernon Round Table today. And they weren't even confined to one or two tables, they were spread through the entire restaurant, playing on computers, reading, none of them had any food or drinks... wait... correction, a couple of them had brought there own food and drinks. As for the food, the pizza was pretty good! The pizza was also served quickly and it was piping hot. They did not provide us with any utensils or a spatula for serving the pizza from the tray to the plates so I burned the hell out of my fingers serving the slices to my daughters (on the upside, the loiterers did not even notice the string of profanities when I burned my fingers!) In summary It is not the Mount Vernon Round Table I grew up eating at. The pizza was fine, the atmosphere and service were really pretty bad, I mean pretty much akin to eating in a college cafeteria. If I was the owner or manager of the restaurant and walked into that I would be pretty pissed off. read more
