Plus they were great to have a conversation with and treated us like family. The calzone I ordered was very tasty flavor profile was amazing the only knock was it was a bit oily. It can be hard to catch Island Pizza due to a limited staff but they are the best pizza in town and our household eats a lot of pizza... Best textured crust, fresh ingredients, and perfect ratios of cheese, to sauce, to ingredients. That sauce might be a family recipe because it's hard to match. (we've tried..) We've found it's best to call their direct number, the online apps never have their correct hours. Bonus, they sell Golden Glen Cheese in a fridge onsite! Island Pizza is one of those gem finds born out of necessity. In the middle of a pizza emergency, we learned that Alfy's had closed their doors for good. In a panic, I did a pizza search on my phone in the maps app and gave it a try...AMAZING! We had the Tomato Basil with roasted garlic, and I can't stop going back! Went in today around 12:45pm for lunch. There was one woman ahead of us and the rest of the place was empty. It wasn't the most comfortable of restaurants. Not going to lie, I kinda got the heebie jeebies eating there. They work hard to keep it clean, but it's one of those places that just won't be able to be impeccable because of its age. In fact, while we were there a couple men came in to assess some leak issues(from what I heard). The ice dispenser had some brown stuff in it. There is a little kids area/arcade, but again it didn't look that clean. Island Pizza seems like a family owned business and you can tell that all of them work extremely hard! Even though there were only a couple of us there, they made sure to keep busy. I did notice that one of the workers wore the same gloves while she cooked and while she handled the mop bucket. More heebie jeebies... Besides that, they were all very friendly and gave GREAT customer service the whole time we were there! My son had a cheese pizza and I had an Italian sub. I misjudged the sub when I first got it as it didn't look as appetizing as I hoped. Sure enough, I definitely enjoyed it after biting in. The bread was perfect and the ingredients tasted fresh. The pizza reminded me of a thinner and crispier version of Costco pizza. Which is a good thing! I wouldn't say it's my favorite pizza on the island, but it was still tasty. I like that they have like 5 different pizza sizes to choose from. I was able to use my 10% off from checking in on the Yelp app. They also offer a 10% military discount, but you can't combine the two... like most places. Fabulous service, decent food, but I will probably go to Alfy's instead the next time we need a pizza fix. read more

My wife found out about Island Pizza while checking out what was near us, as we just moved into a rental in town after selling our house on property outside of the city limits. Unsure how we just now found out about this gem! Our first order, done as take out, was a 14" Prowler on the regular crust and an order of Hot-n-Spicy wings. Pizza was perfect, even though we prefer to have more of a crispier crust. Tasty, tasty, tasty! The wings were just the right amount of spicy, and done very well! Again, we prefer a bit more crispiness on the wings, but that didn't slow us down! Overall, clean, bright and affordable with the friendliest family owned service that will mean many more return visits so as to try everything else on the menu! read more

I think it is the best pizza on the island. The flavor and texture of the crust is as good as it gets, and I even would compare as good as new york pizza, being from there. Yes it is more expensive than your local pizza chains but they arent making things by hand and using mass produced ingredients. She makes her own dough and chops up her own toppings. They are a very nice family and when we were able to eat there they were always welcoming and attentive to service us as best they can. Very good delivery, make sure to tip as they wont automatically ask or add to it. Worth it in my eyes. read more

Unimpressed. We just moved here and the reviews were pretty good. We have been living in a hotel waiting for housing so myself and my three kids needed to get out before we went mad. Pizza sounded like a good common ground for us all. The pizza has plenty of spice with little actual flavor of that makes sense. The cheese pizza isn't very savory. It tastes like a frozen pizza reheated. The crust is thin and tough. My three children had a hard time chewing and i had a terrible time trying to cut it. If you order anything with meat on it, prepare to have a slimy piece of pizza dripping wet with orange grease. I ate one pizza slice. I couldn't stomach any more. The restaurant itself is old which isn't a huge deal since it seemed fairly clean. They were out of mushrooms and straws for drinks. The plates provided are cheap paper plates and made a horrible mess with grease everywhere. I was really disappointed since there isn't many reliable sources for pizza or decent food places at all on the island. I would have rather saved the $30 and just hit Little Caesar's considering the quality pizza we got. However, the staff seemed friendly. Not Overly and the mother speaks with a thick accent, but they were nice enough. Now i get to go home and cook another meal that my kids can actually eat. Unfortunately, We won't be back. Pros: Very friendly customer service. Both the mother and son were very helpful and accommodating. 5 stars for them. Ordered lasagna which was delicious! Hit the spot. Breadsticks and ceasar salad were very yummy and fresh! 5 stars. Cons: Don't order through Yelp24. The restaurant was out of fettuccine and though the restaurant called to inform them, Yelp24 never called me about making any changes. They made the situation a little difficult, but the owner and her son made up for it even if it wasn't their fault at all. Yelp Eat24 gets 0 stars for this one. Would definitely eat here again! First off this is the Best Pizza on this island in my opinion. It's cooked to perfection with good toppings, great cheese, and the dough is good pizza dough. My lady and I love this place. The Owner/Manager is a very sweet lady whom among ourselves in our household we have nicknamed Mama because she treats her customers like family, and is so appreciative of her customers. While we always do takeout the dining area is a lot like a big white open cafeteria setting. So atmosphere wise it's lacking, but food wise, we have never had one thing that was not excellent. read more

Island Pizza right outside of base makes a pizza worthy enough for me to share. Their "wildcat" pizza was great, just the right amount of crunch in the bread and a solid sauce ratio so your mouth isn't biting into the Red Sea each time you go back in for another piece of greatness. read more

My previous review was 5 stars. I was truly impressed with my first visit. For my second, I ordered on a Saturday and ordered a chicken alfredo and garlic sticks to go. I don't know what happened between the mere week between my first visit and the second, but holy cow was there a huge difference. The pasta was spaghetti and not fettuccine but that I can forgive. What I can not forgive was the absolute lack of sauce and pasta that was hard because it was in the oven for too long. The garlic breadsticks had almost nothing on the top and did not have any garlic flavor to it at all. She had just thrown a small pizza crust in the oven, squirted unflavored butter on it and threw some parmesan on top. It was the saddest meal I'd ordered from anywhere on this island since my one and only visit to Tasty India. I'll give this place another try and I'm hoping to return to readjust my rating higher, but dang, it was really bad to have sent me back to my keyboard. read more

Best sandwich in the area so far. I had the sausage sub, and the roll was lightly toasted (not burnt) on the outside, light a fluffy inside, with sausage, onions, peppers, and melted mozzarella. I come from a New York City background of pizza experience. Ordered one thin crust large pepperoni, one thin crust medium Hawaiian, and one large regular crust Prowler pizza. The toppings were all very tasty but the crusts spoiled what could have been a very good pizza experience. The crusts all seemed the same thickness and were chewy rather than crisp. The staff was very friendly and efficient. I fear that real thin crust pizza may not be found on the Island The cost was around $58 read more

Delicious pizza! We got the hand tossed crust and it was light and crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. The owner was very sweet and accommodating to our dietary needs as well. Sitting area was a little bleak and could be jazzed up a bit, but it was warm and atmosphere was friendly for sure! We found this place on Yelp, in Oak Harbor where there are few good pizza joints, so although it's a bit out of town, we were pleasantly surprised with the quality, prices and friendliness of this place. Owner told us that the feta cheese is from her daughter's farm in the area, so that was a real plus. Can't get much fresher than that! Thumbs up...we'll be back!! read more
