I'm new to getting gel manicures. I came here and got the UV gel manicure. It statted peeling after 5 days. So, I just peeled the rest of it off. The owner/manager Olga is very accomodating and friendly. However, the same cannot be said about the girl that did my gel manicure. She spoke to the other girls that worked there and never even acknowledged my presence, They need to work on customer service here. The area where I got my nails done appeared to be clean. However, the towels that you rest your hand on grossed me out a little, but at the end she wiped my hands down with alcohol which made me feel better. read more

I started going to Rouge about a year ago, but I stopped going months ago because of the scheduling mayhem. I decided to give it one more shot on Tuesday, and four days later nails started cracking (see picture). However, that is not the only reason I am writing this. #1 was the excessive delay past my appointment time. #2 was Olga's attitude towards me, when I asked if there were more colors, and then about me asking about the base color was used for french. I also saw her talking under her breath to another customer, super unprofessional. #3 was the rush job I got, hence the cracking. Don't even think of scheduling for the last slot of the day, they will be rush it and you will have paid for a 4 day manicure. Ok, I received 5 or 6 SNS manicures here, and now that I know I won't go back, I can give you the scoop on this place. The good, the bad, the ugly. Pros: 1) the delightful and hardworking owner 2) the insane range of colors 3) their instagram is epic. 4) fair price for SNS. Cons: 1) never felt like it was really clean, both the table and tools. 2) the place is too busy and can't accommodate their customers with or without an appointment. I regularly sat my butt in there for 2+ hours, getting passed from tech to tech. It's a dance of major logistics for me to even get there, 2 hours is just nuts! 3) Once I sat for an HOUR, no exaggeration, soaking my nails in acetone because they were busy. Not pleasant or healthy. That day I just pulled off my foils and left. 4) Techs I came across speak very little English, with the exception of Jessica. Most listen to their own music on their own AirPods, one started a conversation with me in Spanish mid-manicure, took a few seconds to realize she was talking on the phone. One was straight up watching a video on her phone in her drawer, glancing down every few seconds. 5) Every manicure I had, I went back a week later for them to clean up the edges. This place is very unprofessional. I made an appointment for an SNS manicure. The owner, Olga, watched me walk in and stand at the reception desk waiting to be acknowledged. Someone else walks in behind me and she jumps up to tend to them. I found this very strange and in hindsight I should have walked out at that point. However, I spent my time driving to this God forsaken place so I didn't wish it to be for not, only seconds after arriving. The staff is far from Friendly. The woman doing my manicure was unbelievably rough handling me. Her touch was super aggressive and just not the energy I wanted to be on the receiving end of. At one point I tell her "Be gentle when you're touching me please" and her reply was " What gentle?" **a classic: act like your English is bad when you're called out on bad behavior**. I couldn't stand the experience any longer than necessary so I asked for her to stop after cleaning my cuticles and charge me for a manicure. Aside from having a small range of gel polishes to choose from, The nail technicians at this place are horrible, not solely their fault because whoever owns this place has purchased fake polishes, especially there OPI gel polish. I arrived at the location at 10 and left at 2 because every polish they used would dry with large bubbles. After hours of frustration I simply asked for regular polish, only to find out there's no place to dry your nails. They sprayed my nails and told me to go 2 minutes later my polish chipped off. Unfortunately, I will not return to Rouge Nails. I had a good experience--clean salon, friendly staff--however, I have had better SNS manicures that have lasted longer and costed less. The woman servicing me nicked my finger and it left an unappealing scab. When we were finished, I had to ask her to clean my nails because there was a lot of debris leftover from the dip. Finally, less than 10 days after my service, 6 nails started to come off. I have a desk job and use gloves to wash dishes.....It just wasn't a good service this time around. What I love about the Belleville shop is now she has expanded her nail color selection via polish and SNS powders. She has more workers but everyone is still very friendly. After reading the reviews, I stopped in here one afternoon while I was out running errands to get a mani/pedi. I was greeted as soon as I walked in the door by who I'm assuming is the owner, and although there seemed like a small wait.. I was sat down almost immediately to soak off the gel leftover on my nails from my previous manicure. The woman who took care of me (i'm not sure what her name is) got the job done really quickly, but the result was amazing - my nails looked awesome and not rushed whatsoever, even though it took her less than 30 minutes to complete a full gel mani. I loved my nails so much that I ended up staying a little longer to get a pedi as well, and I wasn't disappointed. This place is awesome, it's really clean and the service is very fast and efficient.. I came on a weekday afternoon so it wasn't that busy, but I'd recommend calling ahead and scheduling an appointment if you can only come in the evening. All of the girls working were very nice and I felt extremely comfortable and not intimidated by the staff like I've experienced at other nail salons before. It's only been 2 days but my gel manicure and pedicure looks amazing and I'm extremely satisfied. The prices are decent, $25 for a gel manicure which is pretty standard. Recommended by a friend who normally gets regular sns. I got a full set with sns which I thought was a bit pricey considering they charge you extra to file your nails into the shape that you want. The place appeared clean however there is only one small couch for you to wait for a technician to do your nails. If you do go here I suggest making an appointment. The technician that I had was on her phone as well as the technician next to her. They didn't seem very attentive or welcoming. The woman who was the receptionist was really nice and more attentive. Their speciality seems to be sns or gel. They also had a price list posted that said they offer waxing. Parking is available in a shared lot with some other businesses. All in all. They were okay. French pedicure that came with hot stone massage and their comfy massage chair for $27. Yes it's a bit expensive but I am in love with my nails. Con: You have to really really explain what art you want. I perfer to bring in a photo and definitely need to make an appointment before you come. I do not suggest a walk in. I've been going to Rouge for 3 years to get sns. In my experience, they are the only salon around that does sns CORRECTLY. That said, some nail techs are better than others, but that's to be expected at any nail place. They have a huge selection of colors and they're always adding new options for designs, chrome, ombre, and foil art. I haven't been there since COVID, but I cannot wait to go back!!! I called and made an appointment with whom I believe was the owner, she was so nice and very attentive. The young lady that did my nails did a great job. For those that aren't familiar with SNS, it's healthy for your nails and it helps them grow. There are hardly any places in the Northern NJ area that uses SNS everyone still uses old acrylic or they build your nails with gel. SNS lasts and it enables to technician to give you a long nail that's thin not too thick. I hadn't been to rouge nails in quite some time but I really wanted to get a pedicure it's close to home and the time was convenient so I called and made an appointment. When I arrive for my appointment I walked in and wasn't even greeted by anyone I picked a color and finally some girl who was working on a customer asked if she could help me I went over and I told her I had an appointment for a pedicure she's I can't hear you I said of course you can't hear me because the music is so loud. I was told to have a seat and wait I sat at one of the workstations because there was nowhere else to sit and I could tell it was going to be a while when the owner came over and asked me what I was waiting to have done I told her I had an appointment for a pedicure when I saw that there were seats available by the pedicure area I went over and sat there it was then put in one of the chairs just so which was fine the only problem is the chairs do not move so I couldn't move it back farther to a comfortable position which is helpful when you're tall. Pedicure itself was okay and when Olga was done she had another girl put the Polish on I don't know if she spoke English at all or not I asked her before she started to put my sandals on she looked at me mumbled something and then just kept going very annoying I would have preferred to have my sandals on first there was plenty of room to do my toes I ended up sitting there for probably about an hour and a half by the time I was done my butt hurt from sitting in an uncomfortable position the next morning the muscles in my legs were sore from sitting in that same uncomfortable position what I would recommend is put a little money back into the salon fix the chairs have some employees that aren't so rude and perhaps turn the music down and put something on that gives you a spa like feeling probably won't be back read more

Great staff. Clean and cute set up. They offer drinks while you're there. Place gets busy quick so try to come right at opening! I've done sns and they usually last 10-12 days once they start lifting. However once they're off my real nail feels strong. Not week and brittle. Prices are good too! About the SNS, it's almost like regular gel but better. It' does not require any drying time nor uv light(which I hate because it hurts and bad for your nails) and it's healthier! Should last up to two weeks but for me it's 10-12 days which I think it's great considering the everyday things I do with my hands. read more

I love this nail salon the owner Olga is so welcoming and accommodating always offering water, wine, or coffee and will always help match your SNS mani color to your regular polish for your pedi. My favorite tech there is Gloria she always does an amazing job my SNS manicure and polish pedicure always last three weeks sometimes even more I will not go anywhere else after finding this gem. My two friends both tried sns the time they went and it popped off literally within 5-7 days when those nails are supposed to last about 14+ days. My sns nails lasted just about 12 days the first and second time I got them done. I was done paying for something a bit more expensive if I was just going to have to get them done every week and a half. So the last time I went I decided to just get a regular manicure and what a horrible job!! I left and decided to never go back. Listen..but this is just my experience. I'm very picky with my nails and want a good job done and if they're supposed to last then they should last not just randomly start popping off. OH! And before I forget the lady left half of my nails looking like the shiny pretty nails you usually get and the rest like a flat color that was like sticky. Whatever! I hope it ends up better for you. Stay away from this place! I went there once and I will never return. I went in for a simple gel manicure with a simple design (black and white stripes), and what I got was a mess. I had made a same day appointment over the phone and when I arrived at my scheduled time it seemed that whoever made my appointment did not record it anywhere. After about 10 minutes I was able to get a seat with a nail stylist. She did not seem happy for whatever reason. I showed the stylist a picture of what I wanted and she said okay. Then halfway through the process she pulled out a stamp set (which did not include the design I showed her). I asked her if she could draw and she said no. So I opted for one of the designs she offered me. Next, she asked her coworkers how to do it. She did not know whether to use gel polish or regular polish for the design. Noone seemed to know. She chose to use the gel polish and stamped it on my nail and my surrounding skin. When she tried to clean it up off my skin it would not come off and she just left it that way. Also, the design came out looking gray because of the stamp. Even though I told her I wanted black and white she asked "is this okay?" I knew there was no way I was going to get what I wanted at this point to I said "that's fine." After the whole fiasco was over with I went to pay for my services. The lady at the front asked me how everything went. I showed her a picture of what I had wanted and she said "oh yea, that's beautiful." Then I showed her what her stylist had done. She didn't say anything. I told her that I won't be coming back because I need a place where they can do designs freehand. She told me "oh we can do that here." Well if that's the case why didn't anyone F....ing offer it to me? Then another lady came and told me "oh you have to pay for designs" I said, yes I know I was willing to pay. I wasn't looking for a free ride, all I wanted was to have my nails done professionally. Now, a week after getting my nails done, all of my manicure has peeled off! This is the first time this has ever happened to me - and it will be the last. Also, most places I go to include a design in the price. But what freaked me out is after soaking the sns off, my nails were discolored, resembling fungus! The owner said it's not fungus and it's because of lifting that water got underneath the nails. I got a pedicure and dip powder nails and left this place feeling a little "meh". The actual pedicure was good, but the experience wasn't very relaxing. The seat was small and uncomfortable and the technician splashed water all over my bag and shoes. The dip powder nails came out pretty bad. They weren't smoothed down and still rough when i left. Do not walk away from this place RUN!!!!! I am a licensed hairstylist so I'm always aware of sanitation practices in nail salons. 1. I have no idea where the cuticle nippers came from, I saw no evidence of them being sanitized what so ever. 2. The jar of yellow gunk (foot scrub) is grossly opened and they just dip their hands in client after client, foot after foot. 3. The callus remover they used sits inside an autoclave (sanitizer) but with so many pedicures, I doubt they are able to tell which one was just used. Not allowing the proper amount of time for callus remover to be sanitized. 4. The whirlpool spa was sprayed down with what looks like a bottle of bleach but who the hell knows what's in the bottle... certainly didn't smell like bleach. If you want to keep your toes and hands in tacked and not suffer from some sort of infection, please stay clear of this place! read more

Yesterday was my first time there and my friend and I walked in with no appointment. The owner immediately asked what we wanted to have done which was a gel and a regular mani.
