The Hot Dog and Tots for our kid. He loved the hot dog and the tots!
    Josh S.

This was a recommended stop on our annual trip to Hershey. Typically, we would have lunch at another brewery in the area, but we were up for something different. There are two of these in the area, we weren't quite sure which one to hit, so we opted for the one closer to our hotel in Hershey. We arrived just as they were opening at 11:00 am for lunch. We walked in and were immediately greeted by the bartender and the server. They were the only two working up front, but it was fine; our entire time there, only one other table came in (this was on a Friday). The inside was nice, and we were seated by a fire. The only gripe I have is that the chairs seemed to be the wrong size/height for the tables. But other than that, the place looked good. My wife ordered a beer flight with an assortment of sours and a wheat. I went for the Annville IPA Bold Cask. It was a really, really good beer. Smooth, fully-bodied, and with a good amount of hops. Plus, it's 9.8%, so if you ask me, that's a great way to start off a lunch! The beer flight was decent, but more my wife's thing. Now onto the food. There were a lot of great choices, and we were starving, so of course, everything looked good. We always order for our six-year-old first so they can eat while we relax. We ordered him the hot dog and tots. For our apps, we ordered the Tator Tot Nachos: house cheese sauce, fresh pico, scallions, jalapenos, cilantro lime sour cream, and chicken. And also the smoked wings with hot sauce. I'm always a fan of tator tots, maybe it's because I never had them as a kid, or they really are that good. But these were perfect on a cold day in central PA when you're hungry. The right amount of salt on the tots, crispy exterior and creamy inside, plus the toppings (I love fresh jalapeño). The wings were okay, but this was to be expected. They're smoked, and as much as I love smoked food, you never get the skin crispy (especially on wings). They had a slight smoke flavor and a good sauce, but I'm a "well done" wing guy, so these I would pass on next time. By the time we were going to order lunch, my wife realized she was already full, and we still had a decent amount of food left. So she just picked at the appetizers. I was getting there myself, but I wanted to try a burger. I ordered the Pub Burger: 8 oz, Cooper Sharp, red pepper-bacon jam, dill pickle aioli, lettuce, brioche, and fries (because who can resist more fried potatoes). It came out perfectly medium rare as I ordered and seasoned well. I was apprehensive about the red pepper-bacon jam; I'm not a fan of sweet, but in this case, it worked. It was a great burger (although I only ate a quarter of it). The service was good, and she was very personable and polite. But one thing that was strange. She was on the phone almost the entire time we were there with whom she said was the owner (or maybe a manager). We heard her discussing the reservations and large parties coming in. This was a long call, and while I know there wasn't a lot going on in the restaurant, we felt at times we needed something, and she was busy talking. I'm not blaming her; if it were the owner or manager, they should certainly know better and keep it short. But when she was there, she was great. All in all, a great recommendation from a friend that we are happy we stopped to try. We will be back again, maybe sooner than our annual trip to Hershey!

The Lighting Cattle Wagyu Smash Burger.

For some reason, we've overlooked this amazing restaurant in our new-in-town culinary explorations. Just when I was starting to think that Hershey has a glut of gastropubs, we discover this truly original gem! Check out the menu and you'll see many truly unique items, starting with the appetizers all the way through the lengthy dessert section. In my case I ordered the Lightning Cattle Wagyu Smash Burger, which, in addition to the Wagyu beef, was topped with smoked cheddar cheese, coffee braised onions and BACON JAM, and wrapped in a sesame seed brioche bun. I've never had anything like it! Usually I only eat half of a burger and bring the other half home for later, but I inhaled the whole thing. The burger was rounded out with homemade potato chips and a dill pickle. My wife chose the Holiday Sammy, which was a turkey breast sandwich topped with brie, cranberry mayo and stuffing, all lovingly wrapped in two slices of pumpkin bread, and complemented with chips and a pickle. The pumpkin bread sounded too unusual for me, but I had a couple bites and was very pleasantly surprised at how well the flavors and textures worked together. I wish we had a chance to try one of the many desserts, but we were with a large group which made ordering anything beyond the main course (e.g., beer or dessert) too complicated. We'll definitely be returning again soon!

Brisket Burnt Ends. Say less! These were AMAZING!

This is one of the best local spots around. The food is amazing and the service is incredible! What a great place!

Cute place. From the outside it looks small but a nice size inside. Has a full size bar you can sit at. The parking situation is small and can be tight for bigger cars. Walked in was greeted by the hostess. Ordered the devil eggs and steak tacos. Both dishes were good. I was really shocked how good the tacos were.

I really enjoyed myself at Rotunda. If you follow my reviews, you know that I love breweries and I take every opportunity to visit them when I travel. Rotunda had a welcoming feel to it. On top of their beers on tap, they also featured cocktails from a local distillery. They featured several IPAs and several Sours. I'm not a fan of sours and IPAs can be hit or miss, so I chose a cerveza. Can't go wrong! It was very good and I was happy to see that they had an extensive happy hour selection. I chose the burnt ends. Honestly, I wasn't impressed but I don't like sweet things and the BBQ sauce was too sweet for me. I also found them to be a bit on the fatty side. Everything that came out looked good so I think it was just a personal preference of mine. I enjoyed the atmosphere and the service and do think it's a fun place to check out!

Great afternoon meet up w great friends. This restaurant was the hallway mark for a few friends and I, so we made it happen. It was a little difficult to locate from busy main street, but I found it. The dining room was pretty warm and welcoming. All that was missing was a fire pit and s'more skewers!! Lol Willow came over to assist us instantly. She was super sweet and kind. Accurate order taking and expedited table service. Collectively, we ordered the following. Brew Pub Pretzel - Soft, delish, and warm. Blistered Breakfast Brussels - Super tasty and crispy. Smoked Wings (BBQ, Old Bay) - Both wing orders were a great size and well seasoned. Breakfast Skillet - Mediocre. Discrepancy w the eggs and the bacon was missing. Willow immediately fixed the situation. A couple nopes: They ask if you want Blue Cheese or Ranch for wings and then silently CHARGE you. I selected ranch so I could take home to whoever wanted leftovers, but I could have left it there at the restaurant. I'm allergic to both anyway. Aaannnddddddd, there was a charge to use cc. I had cash in my pocket. NOW, it is printed quite small at the bottom of receipt, so they did their due diligence. I just ain't like it. Overall, I enjoyed myself and would definitely return again if in the area.

Excellent walk over place from Hampton while in town for huge event at Hershey. Sat right away 7pm on Thursday, server Cody was awesome! Daily specials mon- thur. Fall decorated. Drink specials plus full bar. We ordered the Brussel sprouts, hubs got Halibut tacos which were filling and delicious. I enjoyed the Fish & Chips with no complaints. Highly recommend the Orange dreamsicle cheesecake dessert- yum. Cody was friendly, energetic, knowledgeable about the area since we were new here, seemed to serve most of back room without any trouble! Totally enjoyed this place and will be back. Crazy how affordable too!

This is one of the best restaurants in the Hershey/Palmyra area. Always get a great meal, with fast and friendly service. Today I tried the Wagyu smash burger. This was the best hamburger I have had in a very long time. It was so tasty, and had a "jam" on it that was perfect. It didn't have the usual accompaniments like lettuce tomato or onion, but it didn't need them. Thank you Rotunda for another excellent dining experience. Also, they are a brewpub, and the beer I had with lunch was excellent as well.

Decided to stop in for dinner since it was right across from our hotel. Absolutely fantastic experience. The staff here is soooooo incredibly friendly and welcoming! We had the cheesesteak potato skins that were a March special and they were delicious! Caesar salad was one of the best I've had and the tacos were delicious. For beer, we tried a selection but the sour patch kid one was delicious! Could not more highly recommend checking this place out for some delicious scratch made food and fun beer choices!

Delicious Duck and a fancy smash burger.

Do they only serve their beers?

No, they serve brand-names as well.

I see that Yelp says vegan options, however looking at the menu the only one I see is a burger. Are there additional vegan options? I have visitors coming next month who are strict vegan and I would like to take them out to eat at least once.

The menu changes fairly routinely, but vegan options are very limited here in my experience. There is often a pasta dish or a grain bowl that could fit the bill, maybe requiring a little modification or maybe not. Their current menu is always on…

RESTAURANT ASSESSMENT TEMPLATE Wolf Brewery Mechanicsburg, PA 2nd visit…read more OPENING STATEMENT The atmosphere was buzzing with a live band. Let's hope the revisit is worth it. OPENING "I arrived during dinner service. The room carried a steady energy, suggesting competence. Service began promptly, and the environment appeared generally maintained." Service Assessment "Service followed a generally appropriate sequence. The menu was presented clearly and water and beverage were offered . Specials were presented. The specials which were offered were few in number. Not a detraction if the main course exceeded expectations. Order taking reflected strong menu knowledge and was handled accurately without clarity. Timing was prompt with overall pacing consistent with an experienced waitress. Interaction tone was professional and appropriate , with communication that supported the overall experience. Deanna was on her game tonight. Dinnerware was lacking refinement, one set was not clean and needed a re-service. Second set was perfect. Not negatively graded against Wold. The dessert was offered at the right time. Perfect timing in food presentation. Overall, service execution was consistent, with maximum impact on the flow of the dining experience. I asked for the main dish to be delayed and Deanna professionally judged correctly. My meals were delivered when I wanted them. I would hire Deanna with a raise anytime. It was a pleasure to meet such a professional server. Deanna exuded empathy, vision, and professionalism. Service Grade Service: A + Beverage Assessment \\ "Coffee was served promptly, Temperature was appropriate. The profile was balanced with no off-notes. Body was appropriate and freshness appeared consistent. Notable nutty notes with very slight fruitiness. Presentation was clean and complete, including cup condition and accompaniments. Overall, the beverage supported the dining experience to a strong degree. Made me want to order dessert! Let's see if I did. Bravo - someone was actually listening. Beverage Grade Beverage: A + FOOD (STRUCTURED EVALUATION) Food Assessment - Hummus, no Hummus. Pierogies YES! - Appetizer "The dish demonstrated strong technical execution, well cooked. Temperature was appropriate, and structural integrity was maintained. Balance was exceptional, with flavor development that supported the overall composition. Texture provided appropriate. Crispy, not over salted, oil was maintained. Ingredient quality appeared consistent, contributing to a result that aligned with the intended outcome. The ingredients appeared fresh and left the potato as the star. Overall, the dish was well executed with noticeable impact on the overall dining experience. The hots sauce with the spikes of heat was done at a master's level. I didn't burn my mouth and it was not so hot it covered the flavor of the pierogie. Well Done! Food Assessment - Crab Sandwich - Main dish "The dish demonstrated strong technical execution, cooked to perfection. Temperature was appropriate, and structural integrity was maintained. The sandwich did not fall apart. The control of moisture was exceptional. No structural failure here. Balance was exceptional, with flavor development that supported the overall composition. Texture provided appropriate. Fine mix of ingredients and FRESH! Ingredient quality appeared consistent, contributing to a result that aligned with the intended outcome. The amount of crab in the crab cake was spot on. No a ton of breading and not loaded parsley. A touch more salt perhaps, but then again, I like salt. Overall, the dish was well executed with noticeable impact on the overall dining experience. I was not left hungry after this meal. Exceptional execution. I would order again and again. Food Grade Food: A + ENVIRONMENT Environment Assessment "The dining area was generally clean, though minor details suggested inconsistent attention to upkeep. Table condition was appropriate, and overall maintenance appeared uneven. Room temperature was comfortable impacting comfort to a minimal degree. Air quality was neutral, with [no noticeable odors that did not impact the dining experience. Ambiance was cohesive, contributing to the experience in a supportive manner. The restroom was adequately stocked but inconsistent with the floor and unpainted areas around the urinals with odor control consistent, reflecting moderate attention to overall facility upkeep. The last time I was here the wall near the urinal still needed gray paint. And it does until this day. The floor in the bathroom is hard to keep clean. Popping in to clean the floor every now again would help. While the waitstaff were busy. This was the time for front of the house To take the initiative. Taking a broom and dustpan to the food under the tables takes 5 minutes. This was an issue the last visit. Overall rating A -

Fenced in outdoor space, corn hole, food, drinks, live music, and recommended by a friend. And technically it had all of those things! And yet somehow, those things were generally only okay. First, music was inside and it was incredibly loud. So we go outside which was just.... A mess. Like, we got mustard on our clothes from an unclean table; food and napkin scraps all stuck in the grass everywhere you looked. Then, the service outside is through a window, which in itself is no problem. The issue is that it was single server on a Friday night and the line took a really long time. The food and drinks we did get, we enjoyed. Based on the other factors, I am unsure that I would make it a point to stop here when back in the area.

But this place is much more than beer, and I can't recommend it enough. First, there is a bar completely separate from the eating area, so you can choose what experience you want. Second, I've known that all their beers are top notch, which is why I wanted to come here. I'm not an IPA guy, but the black IPA is some top notch stuff that anyone can appreciate. Not super hoppy, really well balanced. Blonde stout is another superb creation, Lancaster gets some depth into it that many other breweries can't manage. Third, if you want food, they learned from the Food Network and limited their menu to just a few choices, all excellently prepared. I ordered the Angry Mac with gator meat. It had excellent flavor, they made it spicier like I asked, and unlike most places they provided plenty of meat. Great quantity and great taste that I wasn't expecting. I tasted my friend's polenta and it was perfectly balanced with some cheese, not too salty. I could eat that for days. Finally, Eva, our waitress? Wonderful. My friend and I were weighing dessert, we wanted a brownie but not the whole hot fudge brownie sundae. Eva made it work and even split it between heated and cold. What a great server. Props to Eva! To get this quality of food, this quality of beer, this quality of service, and this quality of ambiance all in one? No wonder my friend was willing to go two days in a row.
