Eisen Environmental & Construction Services

My family is currently undergoing a kitchen and bathroom renovation, and unfortunately, we ran into…read morean unexpected asbestos issue that forced our contractor to pause construction. Since we're living in the house during the renovation, the delay was especially stressful--we really couldn't afford to wait weeks to get the issue resolved. I called over 10 asbestos companies. A few returned my calls, I received one estimate, but everyone else said they couldn't come out for several weeks. Then I reached out to Eisen Environmental, and Dan responded quickly. He gave me a very reasonable quote over the phone and took the time to explain the project and asbestos removal process in detail. I really appreciated this because I wasn't familiar with asbestos remediation and had a lot of questions. We felt comfortable moving forward and signed the contract that same night. The crew came out the very next business day and even showed up early so they could get started on time. They removed 12 HVAC boots with very minimal damage to the walls. I was expecting much worse, so I was extremely impressed with how carefully they handled the work. My kids and I also had to stay out until they finished. Dan and the project manager called me the moment our home was safe to return after the negative air clearance test. Thank you! From the initial response to the completion of the job, Eisen Environmental was professional, punctual, responsive, and efficient. Most importantly, they helped us get our renovation moving again much faster than we expected. I'm very happy with their service and would definitely recommend Eisen Environmental to anyone dealing with asbestos removal. Great job, Dan and team!

When I spoke to Harold, he explained everything to me and was very candid, which is great. He also recommended that I check the licensing of the other companies I had quotes from. It turns out none of them were actually licensed to remove asbestos popcorn ceilings. Anyways, Select Environmental did a great job and I know they did it correctly per all rules and regulations. I'm happy! I recommend them.

The experience from start to finish was a living nightmare…read more I was not made fully aware of what needed to happen in the way of prep (I went with this company because unlike the others they were able to accomodate not having to move all the furniture out). I felt rushed into a date that was 2 days away (otherwise I would have to wait until Feb, which at the time was 5 months later). I was told it would take two days at most (wed/thurs). On Thursday afternoon they called and said I couldnt get back in my house until Monday. I told them I needed clothes, etc, and was told if you want to sign something saying the asbestos may not be gone because we can't do the clearance test until Friday afternoon and results won't be in until Monsay then fine. I felt pigeoned into a very difficult decision, but they promised they'd always had negative test results. When I came home Thursday the workers had ripped off the ceiling fans and left them in piles on the deck, literally ripped my curtain tie backs out of the walls and left them lying around. The screens were out if the windows all jalopy as if they kicked them out. And the worst part, they used my brand new outdoor kitchen sink which had not been used yet to clean all the equipment, and it was scratched to hell. I sat there crying. That wasn't the worst. I went into the house and my 8-year old sons bed had popcorn ceiling all over it. They ripped the tape off so hard that it ripped the drywall off the side walls. I had $1800 in drywall repairs on the side walls (nearly every wall in every room) and staples were left everywhere- not one or two- more like 50. A few weeks ago the handyman was finally able to come reinstall the ceiling fans, low and behold, parts were missing. The cost to replace the parts was near as much as the fans, so I had to buy new fans. When I asked the company if they could see if the workers knew where they put the parts I was met with a balogney email about being out of the window for warranty and financial requests. The only reason I'm giving this company 2 stars is because the owner did work with me to recoup some of the cost. But I absolutely would not recommend them- not to a friend or an enemy. They were horrid.

Antonio and his team were respectful to our house, took time to prepare the space for decontamination, and took proper precautions in preparing for cleanup. They listened and never brushed off our concerns. They carefully covered our staircase, sticky mat at the entrance, and sealed off doors and windows, their attention to detail was beyond my expectations. Besides the technical side, they also have great communication- from online schedule reminders, sending/ revising quotes, confirming job details via text... etc. Synergy gave us peace of mind and a safe home again, highly recommended!

I hired Synergy for work in my home, and the experience was extremely disappointing and costly…read more The work was never completed properly and required multiple return visits because of incomplete and defective workmanship. After removing the acoustic ceiling in my living room, the crew left the ceiling exposed with visible water damage and walked away. I ultimately hired someone else to finish the work because I did not want the crew returning again. During the process, my home sustained additional damage, including a kitchen cabinet being ripped out and left in my driveway, damage to my kitchen floor, electrical wiring being cut (which required a licensed electrician), and custom drapes and blinds being torn down and balled up even though they should not have been removed. An oak cabinet was also disassembled on top of my washer, rendering it unusable. These issues were documented on site by their own representative, who expressed dissatisfaction with the quality of the work. Despite causing documented damage, the company refused to reimburse for my custom drapes, sheers, and valences for seven windows. They rejected estimates--first claiming it was fraud--without providing any alternative valuation. To this day, my window treatments have not been replaced. To make matters worse, the company attempted to bill me for a disputed balance while threatening a lien, even though the damage caused far exceeded the amount they claimed I owed. This experience resulted in significant stress, additional out-of-pocket expenses, and unresolved damage to my home. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this company to anyone looking for professional, careful, and accountable work.

When they came for the inspection, Lori and her son Michael took hundreds of readings of the building's interior and exterior, and her instrument reveals where even deeply concealed lead paint lies. Because a young child lives in the building, they took extra readings to make sure that we understood any potential risks in even greater detail. Their thoroughness identified areas to maintain and to monitor and areas that pose little risk. Though highly detailed and data-driven, their report is clear and gives our contractors a roadmap to follow as they prepare their proposals for scope of work. I am so grateful for Lori's and Michael's expertise and their straightforwardness and calm demeanors. Having this report in hand has alleviated a great deal of concern, charted a path forward, and given us a real understanding of lead safety and containment.

Lorri explained that due to the age of the building it almost certainly had lead. She said that she couldn't in good conscience take my money already knowing the result.
