This was a very pleasant surprise! We got the falafel rice plate. The falafel was cooked perfectly while being soft and moist o the inside. They had a number of wonderful additions such as Eggplant salad and cous cous. The red sauce was a bit overpowering so I may skip this next time. The best part was the fresh pita that it came with. I'm a fan of this mediterranean spot! The chicken roti salad is quite good and allows for a good amount of customization between the hummus/veggie/cous cous sides that are added on top of the salad and a variety of sauces to select from. To echo everything that has been said about Roti, I'd highly recommend it. It's essentially the chipotle of Mediterranean food (I also love chipotle). You pick your base, meats, toppings, etc. Just like chipotle, right? Everything's fresh and delicious, you get in and out quickly, it's inexpensive, etc. Plus, the staff is friendly and you can always find a spot to eat. It's so convenient downtown. Roti's used to be one of my weekly lunch haunts. This past year or so, It's less than once a month. I recently went the first week of April 2016 and noticed that they are really skimping on serving size. This was the first time that I was left hungry after finishing my little meal. If they are going to serve child sized meals, then the pricing should reflect that. This company is quickly losing my patronage. read more

Decent food but poor service. The restaurant installed three kiosks at the entrance to encourage customers to get ahead of the actual ordering line. First, two of the three kiosks were not working. After we finally placed our order on the only working kiosk, we waited 10 minutes without getting our food. In the meanwhile, about 20 people came after us and went through the regular line and got their food. We could have gotten our food the moment we entered the restaurant if not for the kiosk ordering. When we asked the servers about our "fast lane " orders, they coldly and indifferently answered "Just wait your turn". We finally told them to cancel our order after nearly 15 minutes wait, even that took three minutes for them to do (and I am not sure if they actually did it until my next credit card statement). The restaurant seems to be run by a few teenagers without any grownup in charge. Will never come back here again! read more

They just opened a location (55 E Jackson, Chicago) This place sucks. First time I come here I notice the menu is so small. Only three ways to get your food. Portions are toddler appropriate. I got the spicy lamb meatballs. I got my food and walked 2 mins inside the building to where I ate. Meatballs were cold as the arctic, the 'fresh' vegetables were black and tasted like paper. The rice is very hard and undercooked. Hummus looked like rice pudding, very unappetizing. The only thing that was remotely edible was the cucumber and tomatoes. For anyone wanting Mediterranean food in This area, do yourself a favor and walk across the street to IDOF(i dream of falafel). 1,000 times better! I like Roti because it's fast and convenient. I've been to two locations in the city, and the service is always fast, friendly, and accurate. My favorite thing on the menu is the salad. I usually order it with extra veggies, chicken, hummus, olives, and tahini dressing. I haven't tried the other menu items, but I'm sure they're good as well. read more

This place is basically Mediterranean Chipotle and oh my goodness it is amazing. I would love for them to open more locations in the suburbs. I make it a point to eat Roti for lunch any time I'm working downtown. Flavorful, inexpensive and healthy. Holy trinity of food? Not really but it could be. If you're overwhelmed by the menu as I initially was, you can't go wrong with the Sultan. They get you in and out too. The line may look long but it moves fast. I had my wallet stolen at this location today during the lunch rush. The wallet was in my purse so the thief had to get it out of my purse. I got an alert from Chase saying $2500 was charged at Macys (a block from this location). After running to Macy's and calling Chase to report it stolen, I went back to the restaurant. I asked politely to speak to a manager and was told the manager was too busy (restaurant was nearly empty at this time). An employee gave me attitude when I asked if perhaps someone had turned my wallet in. She said if I claimed it was used why would I think that and suggested I check the bathroom and the garbage can myself. The issue is the attitude I receive and the manager's refusal to even come speak to me. Clearly there's no regard for their customers. A lack of empathy is apparent. read more

Food is decent, but honestly, every time I come here, the first person in the food assembly line is not pacing orders properly. Orders are literally being taken from 7 people back in line. Why does this matter? Because your order is never in front of you. It's always 2 stations ahead. Meaning you have to shout instructions without even seeing what's going on. I used this place to cater an office lunch. They were good particularly the dessert platter which is plenty of bite-sized dessert though not all of them are mediterranean. I also really like their falafel as it's has some whole chickpeas which gives a nice, varying texture. Their pita bread is also the nice and thick kind and is slightly on the sweet side compared to other pitas. The meat dishes are ok and a little burnt - Taza serves better meat. Since my boyfriend and I didn't research restaurants before we left Texas for our Lollapalooza trip, we were just walking everywhere and stopping almost anywhere. I love mediterranean food and I got my boyfriend hooked on it good, as long as he gets good affordable flavoral chicken on his plate, he's set. Well I love their set up, like Chipotle, and you get to make up your own plate for a decent $7-8 range. I didn't LOVE the hummus, but it was decent, I judge it by the taste of how much sesame seed paste they use (tahini), a little more lemon and I'm good. My beef kabob was salty, but my boyfriend's chicken was good. I think my boyfriend wasn't impressed, he's really picky about how much seasoning chicken should have. The rice was undercooked, I hate eating crunchy rice. The sides should include salad, they have cucumber and tomato, but I like greek. I also, don't like that two of the choices are sliced kalamata olives and feta cheese, those are additions, like a pickle that comes with a sandwich. I much rather have greek salad and potatos/fries that go with my main entree. I did like that the server asked if we've been there before and let us sample at least 3 different kabobs between the two of us, that was nice of her. I give it a 4, instead of a 3, because I would try it again, i don't mind the price for the amount you get. read more

This is the second time I've been here. It's like a Mediterranean style Chipolte. The first time I had the beef Roti plate and it was pretty good. The last time I ordered the beef in a pita bread. I noticed it was the last beef that was in the serving tray. When I ate it the beef was dry so I figure it's been sitting there for a while. I'll give them another try and hopefully the beef is not dry like last time. read more

Disappointed with the food. The chicken isn't like the chicken shwarma I've had at many middleastern restaurants. The spicy sauce tasted more like spicy ketchup, it didn't go well with.my meal. I had the chicken rice plate with onions, hummus, and cucumber tomato salad. The only thing I finished was the hummus and pita. Out of the three main Mediterranean restaurants in the area, this was by far my least favorite. I give them two stars for customer service. read more
