The tour is more expensive in comparison to other cheese tours that we've seen in Petaluma, $35 plus tax, but those cheese aren't made with water buffalo milk. With this tour, you get a super informative history/back story of the founders. It is quite the story and could be made into a Hallmark movie. Their story is really inspiring and you can see how passionate they are about their company, product, and water buffaloes. The owner, Audrey, has a hand in every part of the business, and does most of the work, with help from a handful of employees. Please schedule a tour here to support this small company that has ethical and sustainable business practices. I believe every dollar from the tour really helps with their bottom line and I think they really need it as the owner does most of the work herself to cut cost. The highlight of the tour, other than the cheese tasting was getting to pet and brush the water buffaloes until they'd fall over from euphoria.

The place is a cozy/ cute spot. I loved the location of the restaurant & the set up. The drinks & food were so good! The server was very helpful & attentive. We ordered the Coastal Tacos (rock cod) and Fried Chicken Sandwich. At first we were concerned that it might not be enough for us, but when the food came, we realized our worries were for naught. Both the tacos and the sandwich were quite large and also quite messy, but if a taco or fried chicken sandwich is not a little messy, it's probably not very good! The decor retains the flavor of the building's roots. I seem to recall reading that it was a stage coach stop (or railroad stop?) during an earlier life, which is completely believable since it was built in 1864. Rustic, but with some modern touches. We plan to stay at the Valley Ford Hotel again, and when we do, we'll wander down the stairs to Rocker's Roadhouse for dinner. I hope there's oyster Po' Boys on the menu by then!

For sale here are fresh eggs, frozen meats (lamb, pork and beef), local tea, and bone broth. We took note that this is an ecological farm using regenerative grazing practices, and yes we had to dig deeper into their website to find out exactly what that means. Impressive: thoughtful, transparent & sustainable farming. We picked up a dozen farm fresh eggs ($10) some farm made breakfast sausage (which was delicious), and large pork sausage, which we can't wait to try. Easy to connect to their free WiFi at the farm shop and pay via Venmo. Nothing better than a true backroads find!

Camping my Style…read more Working cattle ranch and farm that also happens to have camping locations available throughout the property. The Good: *You can purchase some of their homegrown meats to use at your campground. *Lone shared restroom was very not bad for an outhouse. *Multiple campsites along the Estero *You can also purchase wood to burn in the camp firepit *Located in Tomales, not too far from the ocean, it probably doesn't get too hot like most summer campgrounds are prone to getting. *Cell signal (Xfinity) was actually pretty decent in some spots. The Meh: *Directions to campground is a little confusing at first. The Ugly: *It's still camping and sleeping in a tent on an air mattress is still a nightmare. Conclusion: Still not a big fan of camping but this place is very not bad.

The buttered bread and cheese overwhelmed the thin layer of mushrooms. The texture of the sandwich just didn't work, with mushrooms and spinach falling out on every bite. Side salad was the mixed greens you would get at the grocery store packaged, with some red onion on top. That was it. The onion rings were super thin and the batter fell off before you could dip. No texture and no crunch. Very disappointing. Wish I took a picture. The road noise is pretty terrible on the patio. We were there an hour before lunch closing. Service was wonderful and warm.

As soon as I walked in, it felt homey and I just knew I was going to get some fresh ingredients! Service was super helpful and friendly. My husband and I shared the chicken club sandwich with fries and an extra order of onion rings. The sandwich came with an organic marinated grilled chicken breast, bacon, cheddar, avocado, lettuce, onion + housemade mayo on freshly baked sourdough. Everything melded together nicely. That toasted bread was . The French fries were fresh and definitely tasted homemade, I didn't leave one fry behind lol. The onion rings had a very light batter and went down pretty easy. My husband thought they were a little too greasy but they're fried in oil so what are ya gonna do? What I also thought was impressive was that their dip for the onion rings and the ketchup were homemade also and honestly was the best tasting ketchup I've ever had. The elderberry mimosa was also nice on this Sunday afternoon. Highly recommend Estero Cafe.
