On my way back from Bodega Bay, we decided to stop at this charming Cafe, just off of Highway-1. A small Cafe, but plenty of seating. Clean and comfortable. Our waitress. There's just one waitress. Extremely nice and friendly. We got to the Cafe at 1:30 P.M., and I was thankful to be given the option of breakfast or lunch. I chose breakfast and my partner, lunch. I always love small family owned and operated businesses (restaurants) and feel the majority of them serve the best meals. I had cream beef on homemade biscuits, with 2 sunny-side up eggs. My partner, grilled cheese sandwich with onion rings. I loved the onion rings as they were made with real onions and not that fake onion you find in most fastfood restaurants. Before taxes and tip, my meal was $18, and my partner's $17. I will definitely recommend this Cafe as you're driving up or down Highway-1. read more

Both of us had the mushroom melt on sourdough. It was mediocre at best and with the outrageous price it was poor at best. The buttered bread and cheese overwhelmed the thin layer of mushrooms. The texture of the sandwich just didn't work, with mushrooms and spinach falling out on every bite. Side salad was the mixed greens you would get at the grocery store packaged, with some red onion on top. That was it. The onion rings were super thin and the batter fell off before you could dip. No texture and no crunch. Very disappointing. Wish I took a picture. The road noise is pretty terrible on the patio. We were there an hour before lunch closing. Stopped here on our way home from Bodega Bay as I was craving something other than seafood I had all weekend lol. What a lovely little place. As soon as I walked in, it felt homey and I just knew I was going to get some fresh ingredients! Service was super helpful and friendly. My husband and I shared the chicken club sandwich with fries and an extra order of onion rings. The sandwich came with an organic marinated grilled chicken breast, bacon, cheddar, avocado, lettuce, onion + housemade mayo on freshly baked sourdough. Everything melded together nicely. That toasted bread was . The French fries were fresh and definitely tasted homemade, I didn't leave one fry behind lol. The onion rings had a very light batter and went down pretty easy. My husband thought they were a little too greasy but they're fried in oil so what are ya gonna do? What I also thought was impressive was that their dip for the onion rings and the ketchup were homemade also and honestly was the best tasting ketchup I've ever had. This beautiful restaurant needs way more than 5 stars. What a nice mom and pop restaurant that is clean, family friendly, even friendlier staff and not to mention the food was wonderful. I appreciate that they offer any type of food any time of day (they serve breakfast and lunch all day). I came here with my family with two little ones and they kept checking in to make sure we were comfortable. the food was so delicious! There's not many breakfast options in Bodega Bay, but I would not recommend this one. We got sat fast, but the service is slow. I even seen a couple sit and then leave because they were simply waiting for menus. Servers were nice and friendly. The cleanliness isn't up to par. I tried my best to not even look towards the kitchen. There were a lot of flies in which they used fly-fans on the tables to keep them away. I also found dog hair a few times around me. I ordered the breakfast sandwich, and it was alright. I could have made a better one. The Estero cheese had a very strong taste; I wish I would have gotten a different cheese on it, but I just ordered it as is. I picked it off. The other people in my party ordered the Sonoma Omelette, and the Estero cheese killed the taste. The king trumpet mushrooms were good though. Hash browns were bland. The biscuits and gravy were not good and tasted like cardboard. The homemade jam was ok. The only thing we enjoyed was the coffee. It did get busy there. read more

We had our farewell-vacation breakfast here, and it was the perfect Northern California meal. Obviously everything is local and fresh, so it probably doesn't really matter what you order, it'll be delicious. Warning that even on a Monday morning this place gets pretty busy, I imagine it's hard to get in at all on the weekend. It's a very tiny spot, maybe 8-10 small tables inside and 6 or so tables on their front patio. On a chilly June morning I prefer to sit outside and watch people drive or bike by, enjoying the breeze. Here's what I ordered: 2 eggs over medium with hash browns and greens, a side of bacon, a side of sliced avocado, fresh squeezed grapefruit juice, and an iced coffee. It came with beautiful toast (I gave my gluten to Jon) but I kept my fresh berry jam to eat with my potatoes and bacon! I like when all my breakfast foods and egg yolk all kinda mix together, a little of this and that in every bite. Every element of my breakfast was fantastic. Well-seasoned, rich with flavor, and obviously fresh. I loooove the addition of bitter arugula to a breakfast plate; it adds a perfect, peppery, raw, bright note to everything. The juice and coffee were too easy to drink. YUM all around. Our server was a one-man-show who did a beautiful job taking care of many parties. What a cute little diner/restaurant. Amazing local artist's art work, peppermill, and pizza cutters were neatly displayed for you to purchase. Went for breakfast/brunch on Veterans Day. The waitstaff was welcoming and friendly. We ordered: lavender mimosa - served in a cute mason jar Breakfast salad with an added fried chicken - tasty and light but filling. Chicken was seasoned well. The crispy potatoes went perfectly and the house dressing was simple but so delicious. Blue cheese mushroom bacon burger - super yummy! Bun was toasted but still soft inside. Perfectly cooked meat and mushrooms and cheese was well balanced. I love the fact the mostly everything was locally sourced! We stopped here on the way home from Bodega because the location is so convenient. Our server was super nice and we opted to sit on their dog-friendly patio. There were only three servers (one in-training) running around for an entirely-full indoor space and multiple outdoor tables, so they deserved some grace with the service being a little slow. We overheard a server telling another table that almost all of their ingredients and products are local and organic. We love supporting local, just keep in mind you definitely see it reflected in the price tag: we got two meals and one juice and it was almost $60 with tip. With that being said, our food was tasty and you can tell the ingredients are quality. I got the biscuits + gravy and my boyfriend got the chicken fried chicken (or something like that) plate, which came with the chicken, eggs, toast, and hashbrowns. The sourdough toast was thick cut and delicious (obviously I stole a bite); he also really liked their jam! My biscuits + gravy were good: a little lighter on the gravy than I prefer over my biscuits, but it didn't make you feel overly stuffed which was great for the drive home. I think it's a bacon gravy? The biscuits were rectangle and flat-ish - kind of like the size of a frozen hashbrown patty - but other Yelpers have commented on the unique biscuits so it made sense that they were something out of the ordinary. They were buttery and flavorful, just not as fluffy and smothered as I was hoping for. The apple juice deserves its own line because it was perfection. Not too sweet, not too watery... just right! I'm not sure if we would stop again or if next time we'll try out a different local spot along the route, but I definitely recommend giving it a try! read more

While visiting Sonoma County, we stopped by Estero Café for breakfast--and what a great find! I ordered the Huevos Rancheros, and it was so delicious I almost ordered a second one! Believe it or not, it was my first time trying the dish, and now I'm hooked. We also enjoyed the French Toast Combo and the Breakfast Burrito with bacon--everything was flavorful and satisfying. We left our plates completely clean! The staff was kind and welcoming, and the cozy atmosphere made the experience even better. Really nice people working here. We were so happy to find something that had outdoor seating and was dog friendly during a weekend where rain was heavy and often. Parking is limited and lotsa tourists around. Park at the cute country store and buy a soda and then go over to Estero. Great menu, lots of little creative dishes and the service was so nice and friendly and sweet. Well run, deliciously satisfying food, cooked well, and lots of crab based specials that looked awesome. We went on a very busy Sunday. We were greeted and seated immediately. The wait staff was friendly and took our order quickly. Our food took a lot longer than we had hoped and watching a few tables who came in after us get their food before us was getting frustrating. However, when our food finally came it was yummy. I ordered the breakfast burrito which was perfect. My husband had the breakfast sandwich and enjoyed it. The only issue was my son's chicken and waffles was a little cold and it was a very small portion size (especially for $25). I mentioned it to the waitress and she not only apologized, but she took care of it right away. We love this place. Indoor or outdoor seating. We usually sit outside. We've been there with just me, a couple family members, and larger groups of family and friends. They accommodate all. It's hard to choose whether breakfast or lunch is the best. But I will say they offer the best burger and fries of anywhere I've been. Just thinking about it makes me want to head over for lunch. Their fries are nothing less than spectacular. The best fries anywhere near here. They pair together nicely. We've spent many a Sunday morning dining outside with Mimosa's all around. Sharing our delicious choices with each other. Really every dish is memorable. The staff is so kind and happy to work there. That's an added bonus you can't value enough. You gotta get out there. Had the best Huevos Ranchero ever. The Ranchero Sauce is homemade. The chorizo is homemade. Eggs over easy were perfectly cooked. Fresh pot of Decaf was brewed. Husband had the two eggs scrambled, sausages, potatoes, buttermilk biscuit and homemade blueberry jam. Everything was hot. We enjoyed ourselves sitting outside on the patio with our dog, in sunshine. Service was great and very friendly (guy from Petaluma) ! Woke up the next morning and decided we had to go there again before leaving the coast. Did Huevos Ranchero again. Highly recommend. A coworker told me I had to come here for breakfast. I sat outside because I had a dog but served pretty quickly. I ordered the Estero cafe which is iced coffee with a vanilla maple cream which was AMAZING. I was having a hard time deciding on my meal so I went with a little of everything. I ordered the make it a combo with French toast that came with an apricot syrup I believe which was okay. It was recommend to get the biscuit and gravy and I did as a side but regret not getting it as a main. I couldn't put my fork down it was so good. What a delightful little gem out in Valley Ford! This place has been on my radar for quite some time, but I finally made it out there on a gloomy Sunday morning. It was Memorial Day weekend and I was anticipating busyness and likely a wait time. When we pulled up around 10am, parking was a bit difficult at first. If you're lucky, there are a handful of parking spots right beside Estero Cafe, otherwise you have to venture around looking for closed businesses to park at. Given Valley Ford is very small, took us a moment to find a spot, but once we did we walked over to scope out the scene. We arrived right at the perfect time. The tables were full inside, but there happened to be one left on the patio, sold! Patio is petite with a handful of tables. It's cute surrounded by planters and plenty of space for your furry companion to join you. They serve breakfast and lunch all day! We started off with a coffee and oj mimosa. For my dish I ordered the Sonoma omelette and my partner got the classic, potato and eggs with a side of sausage. Given I could see they were super busy and the kitchen had to have been slammed, there was a minor wait on the food. Not a problem to me, have to respect the people working hard in the back, and our server was sure to fill up our coffee cups anytime they got low. Once the food arrived, I was lowkey drooling with excitement for my first meal of the day. They supply organic ketchup on the table, a house made habanero hot sauce, and a delicious home made blueberry(?) jam. We were set! The potatoes were simple, yet delicious. Basically little chopped up thick French fries. The sourdough toast was great, but the jam made it even better! The omelette was the star of my plate though. Filled with king trumpet mushrooms, spinach and onion, as well as my newest discovery and love, Esterto gold cheese! Covered that bad boy in their hot sauce, every bite had me in food heaven! An absolute perfect breakfast! My partner was also very hyped about his basic little breakfast, favorite being the jam and the sausage links! Overall, a wonderful first experience. Great food, kind service, was a litttttttle expensive, but hey, i see it as paying for a quality meal and support a small business deep out there. Worth every penny! We waited over 30 minutes for biscuits and gravy and a few other very simple meals, consistently asked for water and coffee refills and tons of flies. Looking for a delicious, home-cooked breakfast of generous portions? This might just be the place to go on a day that you're heading to the coast (or not). They don't take reservations, so come as early as you can, especially for breakfast. There's a lull around 11-ish and then it picks up again by 1130AM--at least that was true on the Sunday we visited. A combination of down-home diner and cool funky country place, you'll find art on the walls and small potted succulents on the windowsills - - all available to purchase. Some servers talk this up, just in case you miss it. Nice to know if you're a tourist, annoying if you've been there before. The food is delicious and the coffee bottomless. We had a Variety of different breakfast stations among the four of us - - a Mexican omelette, hash with generous sides of bacon and eggs, strawberry waffles with whipped cream, and a vegetarian omelette. Horrible service, sub-standard food and the price for breakfast/lunch was ridiculous. I emailed the owners a couple of weeks ago describing our experience and dissatisfaction with the wait time to be approached, no checking-in after the delivery of our food, condiments that were left out in the sun too long and a hair in our French fries. Including tip, our bill was $75 for an omelette, burger, coffee and two waters. I felt regretful for going there and won't be back. As for the email to the owners, no response. Unfortunately I am not surprised. I hope other guests have a better experience if they choose to go. read more

My friend and I went on a long drive and decided to stop at the first place we saw in the road so without google it we found Cafe Americana. What a fantastic choice! The café had a cozy atmosphere, was clean, and featured nice paintings on the walls and very nice and shiny tables. I ordered huevos rancheros, while my friend opted for French toast, both of which were delicious. The highlight was when my friend ordered an iced vanilla coffee. I wasn't expecting vanilla but really wanted an iced coffee, so I spoke with Anjuli, who kindly prepared me an iced coffee sweetened with honey. It was incredible--so good that my friend had to admit mine was better than hers! I suggested to Anjuli that the café should add "Anjuli Iced Coffee" to the menu.
