We took a lovely drive on an early saturday morning to try the french toast here- just 2 days after national french toast day . We shared a combo plate - french toast, egg and bacon. Plenty for 2! The french toast ( red bird sourdough!) with fresh apples, fresh whipped cream and a delicious syrup concoction they make in house-local eggs and bacon and locally roasted coffee. We loved the food , but also the people working and dining there - and the paintings on the walls creat an even more pleasant scene. Our server Anna is the reason I give Estero Cafe 5 stars!! It was our first time visiting this classic diner style brunch spot with a lot of character, and we really enjoyed our meal. There's indoor and outdoor seating and a bathroom on-site for customers. They have a large variety of breakfast and lunch options, served all day, and fun brunch specials like bottomless mimosas and eggs Benedict. We were seated almost immediately but it took probably 20-30 min for us to get our food. Pretty artwork inside. Drinks were flowing and the food came out hot. I tried the breakfast burrito with bacon, and opted for sour cream on the side. I didn't realize it would be a wet burrito with the sauce over the top, but it was good! I was full after only eating half of it. It's packed full of a large helping of scrambled eggs, bacon, hashbrowns, cheese, and spinach for that healthy bit of greens. The house made ranchero sauce added a nice flavor and necessary spice, but next time I might get it on the side to dip in. My family members really enjoyed the huevos ranchero and the sourdough French toast with homemade whipped cream. They also have killer bloody Mary's and bottomless mimosas if that's your thing. My family's favorite mimosa flavor was elderberry. While I'd rate my meal more of 3-4 stars (just because it's very hard to beat other burritos I've had in SoCal), it was our extremely friendly and attentive waitress Anna who raised my rating up to 5. We started chatting with her and she asked us all of our names, and was just super personable and friendly. She was always checking on our drinks and making sure those of us who got bottomless mimosas were never empty handed. To top off her kindness, she brought us 2 giant cookies for free before we left!! Our server was polite, the ambiance was cute, and my fiancé liked the chicken fried chicken. That's really all the compliments I can give them. The price point isn't worth the food, even if the food had been amazing, which it wasn't. We ordered: one glass of OJ, one cup of coffee, one parfait, the breakfast sandwich, and the chicken fried chicken, which all came out to $86 after tip. At that price point for breakfast for two, everything should be flawless (or at the very least good). It took about 30 minutes to get our food, and when we did it had been sitting on the pass so long it was room temp (I overheard our server say "this has been here a while, where is it going" before bringing us our food). We even considered leaving before it arrived, and I wish we had. I had ordered hash browns and sausage to go with my sandwich, but neither came out (I didn't mind the hash browns not coming out after I saw that my fiancés were undercooked). They also didn't cook the eggs in the sandwich to my specifications. I liked the parfait (even though the yogurt wasn't cold anymore because it had been sitting so long), but it's kinda hard to mess that up, and shouldn't have taken 30 minutes to come out. Maybe some of this could have been excused if they were slammed, but they weren't. It really wasn't busy at all. I found this cafe on Facebook actually as they are doing a collaboration with Stemple Creek Ranch (Lunch boxes provided by Estero Cafe with an outdoor picnic/hike at the Ranch) and I wanted to attend but at $100/person that's pricey! So instead I decided to come out to order brunch to go while checking out the cute town of Valley Ford. I ordered the Sonoma Omelette which is so delicious and just all veggies inside. I also ordered the Fried Chicken Sandwich, very tasty, light brunch as I would recommend trying both. The hash brown and fries were dried and hard so I didn't care for them too much. The other must order is their Orange Cream Float which is oh-so-creamy and not super sweet! I would recommend calling and ordering in advance and coming to pick up. We waited no more than 5 mins after we paid and our food came out! There is an outdoor seating area and a small booth that you can pay outdoors. The person who delivered our food to us was very nice and asked us if we needed extra sauce, etc. Friendly service. read more

As a long-time Sunday Morning Rider, I missed the Station House and all the great memories there. The Station HOuse is now open again on Sundays (new location), but not till 10! Until it open earlier, Estero will be my new go-to. Loved the biscuits, fried chicken, coffee and everything else I had; my buddies' chow looked great too. Incredibly friendly service and reasonable prices for the quality and preparation of the food. read more

Family mini vacay to Petaluma this past weekend and we just had to return to one of our favorites in a small town called Valley Ford. Estero cafe is a gem and the service is wonderful. We love going there when traveling up towards the north coast. Brunch is amazing..definitely order the chicken fried chicken! It's the best. The food was very good, but I had a very uncomfortable experience at the end of the meal. We were brought our check, so we put cash payment + cash tip down on table and we walked out after thanking the kitchen staff. Our waitress came running after us and in front of everyone asked us very loudly if we paid for our meal. I reconfirmed we left cash for her on the table, which she apparently didn't think to check before accusing us of stepping out on our tab. This place is like an oasis! You're driving along and there it is perched on the side of Valley Ford. This is a great breakfast spot, clean food, local ingredients, warm service, good coffee. So... I came across this gem because I really needed to use the restroom after driving 3 hours in traffic from Sacramento to Bodega Bay. I didn't see anything in sight until I saw the market before Estero, and then there was it was, ESTERO CAFE! There were for sure markings for physical distancing and signs up to remind us about physical distancing and wearing masks. I didn't see a sign of indoor seating but there is outdoor seating. It looked like maybe 2 tables available but that's only because 2 were visible. There is limited parking around here but I'm sure during Covid-19 it would be easier to find parking. I walk up to the cafe, it's cute and has a nice ambiance to it. The cashier was super sweet and the iced coffee, iced tea, and gigantic cookie were all AMAZING! You can tell the quality of the ingredients weren't cheap. I mean, my choices all seemed basic but nooo. I didn't really see where the coffee was from but it was definitely freshly grounded that day and had the perfect amount of creamer and sugar. Not too creamy and not too sweet. I ordered my daughter the iced tea and my daughter was in love. She said "mom this ice tea is really good, maybe you can ask for the recipe." This kid... lol! I had to try a sip of her tea and she wasn't kidding. It was actually one of the best iced teas I had. It was just organic black tea sweetened with sugar and had a slice of lemon but I'm sure it wasn't a bag of Lipiton black tea. Now the cookie, it is pretty big and was so buttery, chewy, and crunchy. Oh my God we found this place in the middle of nowhere and it is amazing one of the best breakfast I've ever had cute little place run by a mom and Pops best coffee ever the service was warm friendly excellent this place is beautifully decorated and a must stop so if you're in the area please stop in because that you won't regret it the coffee is outrageous and they sell it to go so you can buy some coffee beans and take them home, they make their own preserve it was out of this world!!!!!! I begged the owner to please sell me some to take home and after begging they gave in and bought two small containers, the next day I had some for breakfast it was outrageously delicious!!!! read more

This place is the definition of farm to table! The ingredients they use are all sourced locally and they make a lot of things in house. Service was a little slow at first but the owner kindly attended to us and made sure we were served right away. Its a small place so parking is a little difficult to come by, but personally I didn't mind because it means the cafe doesn't get overly crowded. We ordered the breakfast sandwich and chicken and biscuits. I love the Estero cheese on the breakfast sandwich and the eggs don't taste like anything you buy from the store. The bread was also amazing as they get it from a local bakery. Overall, this was a great experience and must try if you're in the area. read more

i had the biscuits & gravy with two eggs over medium that came with a side salad. it was delicious! I have not had homemade gravy that was even close to as good in over 30 years! The salad added a freshness to the breakfast and the eggs were cooked perfectly. My husband had the chicken fried chicken with home fries. It was delicious. Also covered in gravy. Estero has homemade catchup, hot sauce (medium hot, but too hot for me my husband says, I'm wimpy in that area), and homemade apple jam (that tasted like apple pie, tart & sweet) on the table! I have been trying to make it out here for years! Very good classic breakfast and brunch spot with bottomless mimosas. I think they use korbel natural too! One of my favs. I got the breakfast salad, nice and light with some cheese, shrooms and bacon. Super lightly dressed greens and I added their delicious home made hot sauce. My partner got the chicken fried chicken, really tasty! Succulent chicken, nice and light gravy, nice portion, not super heavy. Overall lovely late afternoon brunch with butterflies fluttering on their front porch! GreAt Arnold palmers too! We stopped by here on our way home from Bodega Bay. The inside has a nice cozy feel and the waitress was very friendly. I got the huevos rancheros. It was a good portion and very delicious, the house made corn tortilla was amazing. My wife got the breakfast burrito that was packed full. My son got the chicken sandwich with fries and his plate was clean. We all got double chocolate cookies which tasted like a brownie in cookie form. We'll be stopping by here on our next visit to Bodega Bay for sure. read more

This place is a hidden gem. There's much more seating inside--I never realized. We took our new rescue pup there today and had a lovely experience dining on their patio. The food is outstanding. All the best ingredients. I had the mushroom melt and onion rings--both amazing. My husband had the burger with Estero Gold cheese. He was very happy. The staff was so attentive and friendly. First time ever stopping by at Valley Ford on July 5th. We saw the town featured on the show California Bountiful and my husband said he's always driven by Estero cafe but never stopped. So being a holiday and our first time out since the state reopened, we decided to come to this place for lunch. I wanted to go to Dinucci's but they open for dinner only. Unfortunately, our experience turned out to be extremely disappointing. There was a line waiting to be seated when we arrived around 1 p.m. (no problem with that) and because we had 2 dogs we opted to order takeout instead. Since the staff was obviously busy, I thought ordering online would be better than calling. I ordered 1 Estero burger and 1 fried chicken burger. We walked around with the dogs and 30 minutes later at 1:45 I showed up and was told that they are out of chicken and that someone tried calling me but couldn't get through? I did not have any missed calls on my phone and I obviously had cell signal because I was able to place the order online without issues and received a confirmation text immediately. So it's either no one called me or someone dialed the wrong number and did not try again. I asked if at least the burger was done and I was told no. I should have made the decision right there to get a refund and leave, unfortunately my husband really wanted to try this place so we waited another 20 minutes to get 2 burgers. I was aware that the fried chicken burger was more expensive but I was not offered to have the difference refunded. I also asked how long it was going to be and I was told about 10 minutes. I hung around at the entrance with my dog so I won't get missed or forgotten, and 20 minutes later when the diner closest to the entrance left, I took his seat and noticed that a bag (my order) was sitting on the kiosk. Staff was coming in and out and no one bothered to tell me that the order was ready, nor has anyone bothered to ask if I've been helped. I knew the order has been ready for awhile because when we drove away and started eating the fries, it wasn't hot anymore and was starting to get soggy. Also, I don't know if this is typical but the burgers didn't seem to have any condiments in them. No mustard or anything. It was so bland that we ended up splitting one tub of ketchup to put on the burger (we usually don't use ketchup). Speaking of ketchup, we were given two little tubs of ketchup and found out that one was strawberry jam! How can so many things go wrong in one small order? The whole experience left a really bad taste in the mouth and I really regret tipping 10% for what was essentially a 1-hour-wait takeout. I live in Sonoma where at this time of the year we get an influx of tourists. But I've never seen the ball dropped so many times in one small burger order as this place. The only good thing was while waiting, I got some snacks and milk shake from Valley Ford Cheese which was pretty good. We may come back to Valley Ford but definitely not to this place. read more
