Estero Cafe is a fine place to have a tasty, satisfying meal for a decent, though not inexpensive price. The portions are average, you wouldn't want to split. The greens are beautiful. Lightly dressed. The food is freshly cooked. Diners can watch the cooking process as the kitchen is visible. The tuna for the tuna melt, for example, is poached in house and the tuna salad is made fresh and served on sourdough toast... delicious! The bathroom is unisex. Lovely cafe in Valley Ford. It's bright with a country style setting. There are lots of dairies and chicken farms nearby, so you may have to fight with a few flies. That just means you are close to the source of farm fresh food. Coffee is rich. Food is a little pricier than expected, but just the right amount of freshly made food. I had the veggie hash with potatoes, squash, mushrooms, red bell pepper and a little onion with scrambled eggs. Very tasty and a refreshing change to a traditional breakfast. He had the bacon avocado benedict with hash browns. He said it was delicious. He mentioned that the hash browns were a potato pancake, like I make. The service was excellent and attentive. Ate here a couple months back and I was super excited but then totally let down. We were sat pretty quick but then sat for almost 25 minutes before anyone even came to the table. Mind you that they were not super busy. After a few thoughts of just walking out the women next to us stood up and asked if we want any thing. To our surprise we thought that's weird. I think she was the owner, I grew up in the restaurant industry I wasn't impressed she was on the floor eating, let us sit there that long before handling it her self in which she just sat back at her table to eat some more. Staying at Dylan Beach for the weekend, we stumbled across this gem of a restaurant in the middle of cow country in Sonoma County. If I were only rating the food I would give it 4-1/2 stars but the ambience is why it's only 4 stars. You order outside before entering and then have an option of either outdoor or indoor dining. The morning that we came for breakfast was quite chilly so we opted for indoors, and the indoor dining is a bit rustic. The food was outstanding! I enjoyed the huevos rancheros where they do not crisp up the corn tortilla on the bottom as usual, but that actually made it very easy to enjoy a perfect bite with the black beans and the perfectly over medium eggs. My wife had the eggs Benedict which were more delicately flavored with a nice balance of lemony acid, spinach and avocado. Eggs Benedict appear to be a specialty that they offered on weekends, different variations. They no longer offer bottomless mimosas but serve it by the carafe and it is expertly mixed. Had breakfast this morning at Estero Cafe. Food was delicious. We had the two egg breakfast and the breakfast sandwich and the home made biscuit. Very flavorful and not heavy. We live in Pt. Arena & stop here on our way to the feed store in Petaluma about once a month. I am addicted to their Huevos Rancheros. They are possibly the best I've ever had! My partner likes French Toast & they serve it with strawberries & whipped cream, which he says is also very good. Seating has been outside through the pandemic, but can be pretty chilly some days. I was always told to check out the small places, because they have to be good to survive. So, on my drive up the coast, I stopped at the Estero Cafe for breakfast. Best omelette I ever had (the West County). Fresh ingredients, and every one of them showed up in every bite, not like the places that squeeze the tomatoes or sour cream into the ends. The pies and muffins are home made, and are a must with a cup of coffee. If you're a local, I'm sure this is your go to spot for breakfast or lunch. read more

This was a perfect stop for me along my way, I'm bicycling the full pacific coast. It was a little expensive for breakfast but it tasted great and it felt good to support a small business. The focus on local food is greatly appreciated and the addition of king trumpet mushrooms and local cheese is a huge bonus for this fifty year plus vegetarian. The food exceeded expectations. The service could not have been more gracious and enjoyable. The dog friendly patio made this Cafe a must on a regular basis. It really saddens me that as the owner you are still attempting to justify and make excuses for your staff members discriminatory behavior. He clearly yelled in front of all your customers "you can't park there, it's a handicap spot" and never mentioned a neighboring business. (They weren't open on Memorial Day and your customers were taking up their lot) lIf you were the one at the cart who I spoke to regarding the incident, I want to say that you made me feel uncomfortable and unwelcome at your business. What a gem! Adorable place with dog friendly outdoor seating. Super friendly attentive staff. The food was delicious! Three of of had the chicken fried chicken, nothing short of amazing. My friend had the breakfast burrito, she said it was like a really good omelette with hash brown wrapped in a tortilla. This nestled cafe off the side of the road offers fresh ingredients from the neighboring area and the food is delicious and not steeply priced. Prime spot in Valley Ford, picturesque place to stop during your car ride out to to the beach, or bike ride (motorcycle or bicycle). Love that the menu is farm fresh. They support organic and local farmers. Quaint, small cafe that has a warm, bright vibe to it. Came here for breakfast. Fancy Taylor Maid organic coffee served. Orders taken pretty quick after being seated, but food very slow to come out of the kitchen. Took a solid 20 min. Our breakfasts weren't that fancy where it should take that long. My dad said his biscuits and country gravy were OK, he wouldn't order this dish again. And of my eggs and hash browns, dish my hash browns were boring. Hash browns were dense and dry, couldn't put enough ketchup on them. At least the bacon was great, thick cut and not skimpy. My order came with sourdough toast, took about 10 min (with my reminder) to bring it to the table after the rest of the dishes had been there for a little bit. And once it did come, it was the most underwhelming piece of toast you had ever seen. Lame. The highlight of this visit was my dad and I got to walk away with 3 delightfully delicious oatmeal chocolate chip cookies. For future visits to Estero Cafe, I'll just get the coffee and cookies, pass on the breakfast entrees. read more

Is this place pricey, well depends on how you look at it. They aren't skimping on cheap ingredients. All local and organic within 5 to 10 miles. We went there for breakfast. I ordered the Estero Special with a side of bacon. You can taste the quality of the ingredients immediately. This is a very mixed, rather over-hyped farm-to-table place. I love and appreciate the farm-to-table concept and the use of fresh, local ingredients, but it is not always executed well, and this place falls into that list. Chicken-fried steak dish is decent but not great. The meat was a bit tough and bland. The fried coating had a nice texture but was bland with no nice fried flavour, or any real flavour at all. It also was too delicate for the tough meat and it all just kept getting separated. The gravy was decent but again bland. The eggs were nice, the hash browns unmemorable and, again, bland (despite the addition of apparently some finely chopped green onion and maybe herbs or greens). The toast needed more butter and the butter seemed bland, as if unsalted. I added a little bit of salt in a vain effort to add flavour, but all this did was make it more salty without anything more. The small pile of arugula with some light dressing was a nice touch but again the dressing was not only minimal but bland and tasted mostly of oil. The burger was all right but lacked condiments, the meat was again a bit tough and bland. It was a decent burger but nothing exciting. The coffee shake was outstanding, though, with nice rich whipped cream and a wonderful coffee flavour (made with actual coffee), and not overly sweet. Prices are very high, especially for the smallish portions and given the rather mediocre quality (compare to, say, Naked Pig in Santa Rosa, which has much more flavourful, exciting dishes and bigger portions at lower prices). Inside seating is ok, the place a bit cramped and not very interesting but pleasant enough and with some nice, if limited, views out the windows. There's some reasoanbly pleasant outdoor seating. It's good to have a place like this in Valley Ford, for those living in this area or travelling to or from Bodega Bay, making it convenient. I would be willing to eat here again but I would not go out of my way to eat here. read more

Today I went to Estero Cafe for lunch! We order 3 items today. The Chicken Fried Chicken, French Toast, and the Breakfast Salad. The Chicken Fried Chicken was superb! The Chicken hit the spot and the greens were delicious! To finish it all up was the eggs and hash brown. Everything, in my opinion, was perfectly balanced and I love it! The Breakfast salad all the ingredients were fresh, and topped with a poached egg, mushroom, and thick cut bacon. The Bacon was the best part of the salad as it wasn't overly salty. Everything here was locally sourced, it made a big different in everything we ate. The French toast was sweet and delicious topped with fruit and maple syrup in a small container. Service here was amazing! First was drinks, then after a short wait came the food. The vibe of this place was very nice. It was cozy with a nice patio. Every time I go in to Estero Cafe i feel very welcomed into the restaurant. I started going there right after Covid 19 and was my first time trying the restaurant that my husband recommended because him and his grandfather used to eat breakfast there a lot . So if you are looking for a nice little place to eat breakfast or lunch or just on your way to the beach this would be the place to go and have a great meal . I personally have had their parfaits,they're burritos, their burgers and always order their kombucha. It is very delicious with any foods that you order their and all of their food is locally grown. And you never have to worry about a long wait for a table and they bring fresh water to your table immediately as you sit down and you never have to ask for more of anything because they always wanna make sure that you are happy . This cafe is so cute and so delicious! Hubs and I stopped here for breakfast on Saturday and I am so glad we did! Everything is so fresh and yummy! Farm to table. They even have a list of local farms/vendors out front. Parking is kind of tight so we parked across the street and walked over. We got a table right away outside on the patio. We sat under an umbrella and the weather was perfect. I ordered 2 eggs scrambled, bacon, and a homemade biscuit and jam with iced tea to drink. My breakfast was fabulous! It wasn't greasy and all of it was cooked perfectly! The iced tea was perfect for a warm summer morning. My husband had an omelette with hash browns and coffee. He loved their coffee and mentioned it to our waitress. She told us we could buy beans to take home and so we did! My husband and I have been here on multiple occasions, the first time we were here I had a seasonal item, the lamb burger. It was AMAZING. Since our first visit I have been on a hunt for a restaurant closer to home with the same flavor, but nothing compares. Unfortunately as mentioned it was seasonal, i'm not sure if it's back this summer, but if it is... you will not be disappointed if you try it. The food is fresh, you can taste the quality, and the bottomless coffee is also delicious. The owner, Samantha is very friendly, as well as the kitchen staff, they always provided us with amazing customer service. Yes, once in a while there is a wait, but the food is so worth it. I also want to note that there can be a lot of flies in the establishment, but we don't let that take away from our experience, I mean it's to be expected you're in the countryside. My husband and I have only ordered burgers from Estero, so I cannot speak for the rest of the items on the menu, but you can tell the food is fresh and the employees take pride in their work. This quaint cafe is a MUST stop if you are anywhere in the area. They serve breakfast (all day) and lunch daily and dinner on Wednesdays. Their vendors that supply their farm to fork ingredients are displayed proudly by the front door, it can't get any more local and organic than being in Valley Ford. I had breakfast for lunch, and got the veggie omelet, hash browns and sourdough toast. No joke, the hash browns are the best I have ever had in my entire life.
