By the year of 2026 - you kinda know what you're getting at Ross For whatever reason this store (at least on my visit) had lack of quality selections and the prices seemed high. But the staff was super nice and on it with a busy store so they are the reason this review got an extra star. read more

Ross in Montclair was honestly better than I expected and definitely one of the nicer Ross locations I've been to. The store was clean, organized, and actually easy to shop in, which is rare for Ross. The aisles weren't chaotic, the selection was solid, and it didn't have that overwhelming feeling you get at some other stores. Prices were great as always, and I found everything I needed without having to dig through piles of random items. I would absolutely come back based on the inside experience alone. The one thing that really threw me off was the checkout process. The cashier kept calling the next person in line even though the customer being helped hadn't fully cleared the area yet. You end up squeezing past someone who is still waiting on their receipt, and it creates this weird, awkward moment where nobody knows where to stand. It felt rushed and uncomfortable, and it's something they really need to fix because it makes the ending of the visit feel messy. The parking lot also gets a little sketch after sunset since the lighting isn't great, so I definitely prefer coming during the daytime. Overall, the store itself is good and I would shop here again, but the checkout flow and the nighttime parking vibe definitely need attention. read more

Really bad service. Went in yesterday for a dog bed and the cashiers were too busy gossiping. They spoke more to eachother than to me during the entire purchase AND to top it all off they didn't notice the sensor on my dogs bed. Now I'm going to have to drive all the way back there to talk to them again just to have the sensor removed. Very unprofessional. read more

Post script edit ('250906 Sa.): Thank you Rachel for being a cool associate who was very kind. Great inexpensive retail store. Good clothing and resale for a very good price! Thanks be to God we have some anti-theft retail representatives too. Lot of thievery in the state of California, so I'm grateful Ross has the interest of patrons and the preservation of their business. Kind associate kindly serviced check out and was very delightful. May peace be upon this firm and its team. To God be all the glory! @th4ddaeus.mp4 read more

The layouts and overall design of the store. I enjoyed being here and the lines never were too long.

Ross has become one of my favorite places to shop because it consistently offers the products I'm looking for, along with fresh inventory. The key to finding great items is arriving early, as the best selections go fast. However, what truly makes this location stand out is the exceptional customer service, especially from Destiny. Destiny is an outstanding employee who embodies what true customer service should be. She pays close attention to detail, ensuring that every customer feels welcomed and taken care of. Her personable skills are rare in today's retail world, where many stores push self-checkouts to minimize human interaction. Destiny, however, embraces customer engagement with warmth, professionalism, and enthusiasm. Her presence in the store is always uplifting--she greets customers with a genuine smile and goes above and beyond her job description. She is a multitasker and a go-getter, handling multiple responsibilities while still making time to assist shoppers. Even in moments when inventory is limited, she and the staff make sure to provide helpful information about restocks and available options. Unlike other retail experiences where employees lack engagement, the atmosphere at this Ross is always welcoming. Regardless of any challenges behind the scenes, the team maintains a positive environment, which makes me feel valued as a customer. Because of Destiny and the great staff, I will continue to shop here with my family. Thank you for making every visit a pleasant one! And I appreciate the staff being very attentive to organizing and ordering the store. read more

Great selection of stuff here however there are not enough employees on the floor. Long lines in store, took me over 30 minutes to check out. If you're looking for Great deals this is the place to come if you actually have time to stand in line. read more

The cashier name Lily is a terrible and LAZY employee. I was returning items so I already had a bag with me and when she asked if I needed a paper bag for the new items, I said no. I bought five pairs of jeans, and she just threw them in front of me without folding them even just little bit. When she wanted to call the next customer and saw me struggling to fold each pair of jeans, she acted very rudely. She just stood there and waited for me to fold them. I looked at her and asked, "Shouldn't you be helping me fold them?" She said that it wasn't her job. I don't understand what her job is there for? To be rude to customers, lazy, and uneducated? I told her that I had never seen an employee at Ross who was as arrogant, rude, terrible, and lazy as she was. I told the manager about this, but she seemed to only want to cover for Lily. She said that it wasn't a job duty, but just poor customer service. Cashiers like Lily are giving a bad look to the good employees at this Ross store. And if the manager is covering for this, then she is irresponsible and doesn't deserve to manage a store. I'm going to try to find out how to contact their general manager to tell them that this Ross store is very rude to customers if they don't buy the 20-cent paper bags. They think it's normal to throw five pairs of jeans in front of a customer and just stand there and stare. read more

Came here to buy a leatherette blouse and bought 2 in different style and colors! Reliving my youth. Yay! Ashley upon entry and Andrea at checkout were great. Didn't get the have of the security guy who greeted me and checked my receipt! He was great too! Thank you! read more

Went in yesterday, and the cashier Monique was too involved with the other cashier Destiny, that she didn't even acknowledge me. As she was ringing my stuff she kept her conversation going never once saying anything to me but my total at the end. Then didn't even say thank you or have a good day, she simply continued her conversation. It's ok to talk to your co workers but at least acknowledge the customer here and there. One of the bad experiences I've had at Ross read more

Our first time going into this Ross, was a good selection, customer service was very very good, and pretty good value I would say, much bigger selection then where I live. Bigger store more room. The selection was good to, You get what you pay for the price value was so so. This is a good store. The security guard was super cool friendly and courteous also. Would recommend this Ross for sure and will be back!!! read more

So I go in there had a good time shopping jamming to my air pod music walk to checkout a security guard helps me out by putting my stuff that was in a small cart in a big cart which was so thoughtful of her at least I thought so I continue walking to checkout get called up I see a lady that's behind the glass counter side of the store has a little back and forth small talk with her she was nice . Then as I'm done she says the people at the door will check my receipt so i walk right over and he asks to check my bags- not a problem I just happened to have 4 plastic bags on my right arm will carrying a king size Steve Madden comforter/set so for more conscience I put the bags on the floor so he can do whatever is what that he needs to do for his job . I then go on my phone and request a Lyft he then says to me " did you have a problem with my college putting your stuff in a cart for you" .... I thought that was so weird and random . I felt targeted I then wished him a good night as I walked out I then said " and you can tell her no she helped me out a lot " .. that was such an awkward weird first time at this Ross .. all in all I found some realllly neat finds. And the selection there was really nice . read more

This store used to be a nice store! They are just not same... They do have some finds but when merchandise is just thrown out there it is not a great shopping experience. This is not just during the holidays mind you! When you enter the security welcomes you to the store and also when you exit... This is the best part of the Ross shopping experience. I deal with each employee based the way they treat me. I have had a couple employees in the fitting room act a little off putting... Other than that the cashiers and managers are great! I would love to see this store clean up and be better organized. Also customer service is essential! read more

So it says it close at 11 I was at the register line to pay at 10:30 and I couldn't pay anymore so I had to leave all my stuff. This is very stupid. They said that they close all the register at 10:30 where it clearly says here on yelp that they close at 11 who came up with these rules so unorganized so sad I have to design for the store read more

As I was at the counter to purchase items, Natalie and Erica were in a conversation and I just waited there for the cashier Natalie to acknowledge me, but they kept on with their conversation. I just stood there and I just looked at her (Erica at the exit door) ) & looked at Natalie still Talking, but I just thought it was rude. Then till they partly done with their conversation Natalie started to ring me up. Looks like I'll be shopping at Chino Ross from now on. read more

worst customer service here in the fitting room this lady with black hair with red tips super rude has an ugly attitude

Either this place has a major shoplifting problem or they like profiling "certain" customers if you catch my drift. It felt like I was being watched and followed by the loss prevention guy the entire time I was there. I get it- you don't want people stealing. But I'm standing there in shorts and a tee shirt with no purse, no bags, and no shopping cart. Here's a helpful tip: Look for people with large pockets, backpacks, baggy clothes, or bags in which they can conceal items. People who are moving quickly throughout the store trying not to get caught. The 34 year old married woman casually browsing hair bows in the toddler section is usually not going to be your theif. You're welcome : ) read more

Maggie was emotionless, rude and did not provide any customer service. We asked for a larger bag, she said they didn't have any but yet the register next to it had some?? read more

I will never shop at this Ross again. Security follows you around at every moment, every aisle. I understand store needs security, but they take it to far for what they sell. I was followed into the dressing room as I was trying out clothing. That's just a no for me. They lost a customer, I'll be taking my money somewhere else. read more

I went into Ross for a quick 'look-see' prior to TUESDAY SENIOR/ family rush. I was able to find a 2 piece athletic set for 4.99 but rather than wait-I snapped it up. As I was in line to purchase there was a man of foreign descent dressed in red T shirt, red shorts vaping and fondling his erect penis. It was DISGUSTING, just plain NASTY and he was boasting about it in his native language to his friend as they stood in line to purchase these red duffle bags. There was a child in line behind this pervert too! He kept grabbing and touching himself pointing, laughing with his friend then taking a drag on his vape pipe. This other customer and I were disappointed there was no security to bring this to the attention of as he continued his filthy display in front of a line of women and children. I was so glad I at least had my mask on -wish I had carried my pepper spray gel as a precaution. Just be on alert, there are some SICK slime balls out and about with no one to prevent it. read more

I came to this location plenty of times, but not sure why I haven't checked in lol Place could be pretty busy at times with long lines. You could find some great deals here, if you have the time and patience. I for one really don't cause I like to be in and out. If I leave my wife here alone, she could be in here for hours lol read more

Their "security" is a joke lol. how about instead of following my siblings and I around the damn store. You focus on the parents who let their children run around the whole store stepping all over your displayed furniture and opening packages of candy(they are Literally ruining merchandise) They really had some joke of a security guard stand and stare at us shop for a COMFORTER SET. how the heck would one steal a comforter set??? I'd like to meet the person who was able to get away with doing that. Guess we just looked sketchy to them read more

Wait time was insane for returns! I had a horrible experience! They need to train their worker in return/exchange registers

I love this wonderful store very much. Always very lively and always very useful. So many things you can buy inexpensively. The staff of the store is very friendly and hardworking, they have to spend a lot of time to maintain cleanliness and order. Many visitors of this classy store are frankly behaving ugly. Store five stars and customers one star! read more

The worst store in Montclair 25 people in line and 2 registers open it's only 5pm there is noooo reason for this very poor customer service

I like their selection here more than the one in Chino, but unfortunately everyone here outwardly hates their job and makes my shopping experience much less enjoyable. There must be a lot of thefts here also because on my last visit, there were two loss prevention workers just standing around eyeing my every move. Shoppers here are rude too. They don't mind running you down with their carts or hogging the lanes, as long as they get that deal. read more

I was in the area and noticed Ross, I went in to look for shoes as my last Sketcher was showing wear and tear. Well found a anti skid, electric shock proof boot a size 12 for $ 40. Well it felt so comfortable I took it right away. I liked the store in general and will have to return for some wind shield wipers which were on sale for $6. Plenty of parking at this location and friendly employees. read more

I have been going to Ross for the last 15 years and it has been the best place I have found the best dresses. This particular Ross is a challenge. They recieve great products but if you don't get there early to avoid the crowd it can get pretty messy. Honestly after 1 I think it gets a tad bit "Wally Mart-ish". Recently I have found a great little dress BCBG for only 20. I also found a cute matching purse. read more

I've always liked the deals I find at Ross. But I'm tired of this always happening. Hello owner, please take this into consideration. You're going to lose customers if you only have 3 cashiers on a Saturday with 28 people in line. It took me 5 mins to pick out my 2 items and spent 25 mins in like to pay. I'll never come back here on a Saturday again. read more

worst customer service, too busy talking about personal problems then to help a customer.

Worst customer service ever! Laura, a Loss Prevention team member is perfect at preventing only thing and that is preventing people from entering your store. I asked to see some jewelry and another associate was showing me some pieces. She then walks over and hovers over me, all while crossing her arms and just giving me dirty looks as if I were a thief. I have never stolen anything in my entire life and to be treated as someone who would is just disrespectful and appalling. I understand the need to protect your products, but no one should ever be spoken to so rudely or treated the way she treats customers. I will never step foot in this store again! read more

Worst service, it's amazing, I asked for permission to go inside and and try 2 pairs of shoes, because there was no place available to sit down and I have a bad back, I told 2 employees if they could acomódate me and they both said no, plus there is no control when you get in line to pay, it's amazing how this store operate, big difference than the other Ross stores where I bought before, but all this reflects on management read more
