I'm pretty neutral about this store. My daughter loves it, and I frequent this location for last minute travel items I might not find somewhere else or for their mugs. I've found really cool zodiac items in the past, and I love their hourglasses when they're stocked. As for clothes, I only shop for them when I actually need to be business casual for any reason. Also, I love their off-the-wall herbal tea flavors I can't find at a larger grocery store. I found some really awesome Legend of Zelda artwork for $10 I know my son will love, but I also couldn't justify buying much else on this trip. It's fun to look, and the value is better than what you'd find at certain craft stores with mass produced decor, but it doesn't stand out with that wow factor. To be perfectly honest, I was a little disappointed with the service. I suffer from severe social anxiety, but despite this, I'm very extroverted when I'm around people. When I asked the cashier how her day was going, she looked at me with one of those forced smiles that REALLY told me she didn't want to be there. Her response was a clipped, "I'm good" when she looked anything but good. Then she looked away and seemed like she couldn't wait to get me the hell out of the store. I'm a little sad because I'm always for customer service and tend to be on their side because people in general can be kind of crappy. I just wish she'd put in more effort to engage because it made me feel undervalued and anxious. So would I recommend this Ross? I don't know. I love the Ross in Ahwatukee, and I'll probably keep coming here because my daughter loves the Juniors section, but if I want to feel like crap about myself as a human being, sure. read more

Nice store, good selection. The snacks are pretty great. Found two pairs of shorts there and a huge pack of socks for a really good price. While I was waiting to check out, this lovely employee was just walking into work and before she could even put her stuff away the manager (Michele) raises her voice at her about her availability. There were multiple people in line witnessing this and it was extremely awkward. Very unprofessional, she shouldve had a conversation with her in the back away from customers. read more

First off I want to say I've been to alot better Ross stores but this one is horrible. The management there sucks.. or at least the two I dealt with. First off Marietta gave me no direction to where I needed to go.. seems like she doesn't want to do her job and other employees there are more helpful. Then a few weeks later I dealt with a Michelle (Supposed Manager) who is rude as hell. I've even witnessed Michelle yelling at an employee in front of customers (including me) it is unprofessional and make shopping there uncomfortable. Never going there again. read more

Horrible customer service. Not sure if it was racism or purely poor attitude of the checker. I came in to return an item and was asked to go on a separate line and then ignored while she served more and more incoming buying customers, even those that came after me. When I finally gave up and asked her about it she grudgingly said I would be next. I asked her what is the proper policy on attending to returns, she became hostile. No apologies whatsoever. She had little respect for her own manager and treated him like it was his job to apologize to customers that she had offended. read more

I wish I could leave less than one star. I asked the cashier if she could please wrap the chocolate in a separate bag so that the fragile lint chocolate bears would not break. As I was leaving she handed me all of my bags except for the chocolate bears. Everything in Maricopa is quite a drive so I was annoyed that I was going to have to drive back but first I wanted to call to make sure she had them so I didn't take an erroneous trip to town. First they tell me they don't have them then they find them at the front and then they tell me to come back with my receipt. I wasn't planning on returning or exchanging anything I was just planning on getting the item that I had already paid for and wasn't delivered. Finally, I found the receipt after rummaging through the trash. Nine dollars worth of chocolate for all of this hassle and they want a receipt after they don't give me what I paid for highway robbery very rude no customer service this is probably why they have the worst star reviews in the entire valley read more

Maria needs better training, i'm standing in line getting ready to walk up to the counter, there was no one in the returns line at the moment... she told me to give her a second so that she can change her receipt paper, then a man just walks to the counter, I tell her I'm next. She says that I have to wait because he has a return and she's doing returns.... I get that BUT if she didn't have to change the receipt I was next... I am still shaking my head at my recent experience. Bought some earrings (that when put in the bag on my purchase a week ago) must have twisted all up and I can't un-twist) and a pair of pants that fit too low. The other items purchased were fine. I love Ross, (or did) and fully intended to do a store credit and spend 3 times the amount I was returning. I had the night to play. When the sales clerk, Tiffany, saw my bag I could tell her demeanor changed, and she quickly asked another patron to step up with her items. Even though she was in the return line. Or at least it was the return line on my last visit when I heard someone called out of line to do a return. When I approached there was no smile, no welcome, no what can I do for you, zilch. I put my items on the counter with my receipt and the tags still attached to the pants. She immediately asked where the Ross tag was. I sincerely do not know why it was not on either item but I do not remember removing either one, and can't really say if I remember them on the items, but they must have been. The receipt clearly described both items. I was about to say, "I just want store credit" when she started asking me again about the tag. By this time there are other people coming to the line so i just wanted to do my business and move on. The reality was the way she was talking to me and acting with the receipt/questions (like she was doubting I even bought the items there) was making me feel uncomfortable. She called a gentleman over, which I presumed was the manager, and without so much as a word he grabs the receipt, looks at the item and they have a conversation about the Ross tags not being there and she doesn't know if I bought them there. This has never happened in my many years of shopping and returning defective items so I mentioned that the description was on the receipt and they were from the jewelry box beside her. All this mind you was for $20.79. The Manager, (I am assuming) said "do they have 3 buttons," Tiffany stated "yes," he said "fine" (while throwing the receipt down on the counter) and slammed the little door behind him as he left to go to another line to call the next guest in line. I remarked, "I sure didn't mean to make you all mad" to which she replied, "I am not mad I am trying to get through this line that is behind you now." So now I am fuming, have no intention of shopping any more on this evening and possibly ever. So I am quiet for the remainder of the transaction. Upon handing me the receipt she did say, "thank you." "Thank you?" Was it for leaving the store? I am sure she will tell the story much differently. I would really like to hear it actually. I was going to call and speak to someone else but figured whoever answered would be just as annoyed at my return as they were. I will definitely look to make sure whatever item I purchase in the future has whatever tag it was purchased from going forward, but you could have taught me this lesson in a much more productive manner. A much better human approach. You might have been given a great review (on rosslistens.com) instead of the one I did give. There is one young large African American customer service girl who appears nice but she does questionable practices. On one visit, I was charged twice for 4 items each on my receipts. This caused so much of an inconvenience waiting for this to clear with the wait time and bank clearance. My next visit, the same employee didn't allow me to purchase a dress on clearance saying the dress was not on clearance though it had the tag on it? I let that one slide without complaining. But on my last visit a few days ago, she tore off my clearance tags (4 items) and one regular Ross price. I didn't notice until I got home. My grandson told me he saw her do this and set the tags aside on the counter. read more

Rude employees there is one woman there who is nice the rest seem to hate their job and being there is such an inconvenience for them. I have shopped there a handful of times because there really isn't another place to buy branded things at a good price here in Maricopa. read more
