yes, they have narrowed the aisles to make room for merchandise, which is why we shop there in the first place, Right? and yes there is a 15 second wait when you enter they are trying to keep the store from overpopulating itself.. I have had good experiences finding treasures and in the transaction process. These hardworking men and women deserve our respect. All that being said.. Would love wider aisles so that two carts could pass and you wouldn't feel rude just trying to get past another shopper even when only one of you has a cart.. it's just a corporate decision not on the people that help us in store. Ross is terrible. I mean, if you're looking for some houseware items or clothing at great deals then of course you may come up lucky here. It's really hit or miss. The customer service however, always a miss. This company lacks any type of customer service skills. The employees always are rude and not helpful. They spend more time watching people and talking crap than actually helping customers. They seem extremely miserable and hate their job, not that I can totally blame them. I heard a cashier one time call a group of girls "hood rats" because they ran out the store with items. Obviously stealing is wrong but for an employee to say that, yikes! Also, they really need to stop telling customers to remove the hangers off the clothing because "it will speed things along". TF! First off, do your job. I don't work at Ross! This place is really bottom of the totem pole when it comes to these discount retail stores. I really try to avoid this one and go to other nicer locations. read more

Why is it with a line of LITERALLY 17+ waiting (line halfway to back of store) do we have one cashier who just outta of the blue stops ringing people up to 'sort fucking hangers!?!' I know there are my rules/requirements to following during the pandemic but better customer service is a must. I know employees might have their good & bad days but don't be so rude when I haven't done anything to you. Litzy (I think that was her name) was rude and unprofessional. Just because you think I don't speak or understand English doesn't mean you can mumble or make rude remarks and snap at me. Don't judge a book by its covers. I've been to this store twice. The first time a salesperson stopped my husband at the door to wait. We asked why and she gave some reason under her breath. We truly laughed and we're like, "this is so weird!" And then she ushered us in as if she might have been embarrassed herself at the silly little stop-you-at-the-door ritual. I went back today and was stopped again to "Wait a few minutes." I just turned around and left and will not be going back now that I see this is a thing they do all the time. I hope others will do the same and not support a store that disrespects a customer's time like that. Funny: Ross' rent-a-cops with their "LOSS PREVENTION" jackets. I came in here to actually see if they had any discount jerseys, and sure enough, they did. But like you read, the player selection was less than desirable. But, I will say, that if it was summertime and they had my size mediums, I'd probably purchase the jerseys to wear to work and not mind them getting dirty/painted on/profusely sweated in/destroyed. read more

It's like they're doing you a favor by allowing you to shop there, and when you want to return something oh, it's a big hassle. I will never shop at this Ross store again. The customer service is so horrible and the manager is even worse!. Before I bought this perfume I specifically asked what the return policy was... before the employee got it out of the cabinet for me. She said as long as it was within the time limit and I had the receipt it would be no problem. When I tried to return it today (I only sprayed it once) the manager, cashier and myself went back and forth for at least 10 minutes over this issue. They didn't want to return it because it had been used. I explained that the employee told me it was returnable and they were taking back that promise now. Regardless of what the policy is the employee should know what to tell the customer when they are asked very specific question. Otherwise I wouldn't have purchased this perfume. I walked out of the store with my stinky perfume in hand. The manager spoke to me with such a disrespectful voice that no one could match. read more

This is one of the locations near me. It's ok. The lines aren't too long and you get what you pay for. You can't expect too much front Ross store. They do have a good selection of items like: towels, pillow cases, socks, pet beds and wall art. Most of the Ross stores are pretty much all the same. read more

I admit I am a Ross Dress for Less "addict", but that's OK because it's all about being a smart shopper. Much of their merchandise is regular brand name stuff that they sell for lower prices than regular retail because they get it as overstock. Their slogan "It's never the same place twice" is true because they constantly receive different merchandise, so you may see different things in stock from week to week. A true indication of my "addiction" is that I like to visit ALL the different Ross Dress for Less locations in the Portland area regularly. They have clothing, shoes, household goods, personal care products, snack food, etc, etc. . .and you never know what you'll find. The Gresham location is the closest to where I live so I consider them my "home" store. Also, they stay open late, some nights as late as 11:30pm, so they are available even if I have late evening shopping urges. On top of all these wonderful features, they also have a senior citizen discount of 10% for people over the age of 55 every Tuesday. I qualify for this. . .and it's another reason why I like Ross Dress for Less. read more

This Ross has really cleaned up in the past few months. It looks like they have thinned out the stuff when you first walk in, and they are keeping the shelves pretty clear so you can safely walk down an isle without clearing it as you go. I went in today looking for some throw pillows and found most of them were under $10, score. I am giving them a three because i didn't stand in an excruciatingly long line, this store is known for. Just walked out very unsatisfied with the level of customer service your manager Robert at this location has. I came back with a return, still on the hanger attached with tags, never even tried on. It was a gift from my boyfriend and he grabbed them in a size to big. When I came back with him to swap for a smaller size, literally one day later... Robert embarrassed me in the front of a busy store. We called the clackamas location, and thank goodness for Ryan at the the at this location, who saved us and our continued shopping with Ross at the clackamas location only!! Went in this evening, the fitting room attendant and the home department girl were hilarious, I understand it's messy, I used to work for Ross and I know their processes. They have minimum staffing and too much merchandise so it becomes clutter. I really like this store! I can get what I need for my household goods, like kitchen stuff and pillow cases, bath towels, rugs, bathroom accessories, luggage, too, and I always seem to be able to find a nice top or pair of jeans. I buy all my socks there and I love to peruse the cosmetic section and the selection of jams, as they always have interesting items. I find the prices are reasonable. You just have to remember that you get what you pay for. read more

I have been in this store about three times. Every time, it's just a nightmare when it comes to check out or returns. The lines are long and the cashiers aren't very friendly. The lady at the customer service desk (middle aged with really long fake nails) probably hasn't smiled in years. I think returns take so long because she has to navigate around those absurdly long nails to hit keys on the computer screen. She seems very snooty and is not friendly at all. The last time I went to return something, there was only one person in line in front of me, and it took fifteen minutes! I had gone with a friend to return something a few months back, and this same lady it was as if I was an inconvenience to her. I have given it a few tries, but I'm heading to TJMaxx from now on. It's just not worth going here because the atmosphere is just negative and the service is awful. Ross has really gone downhill! : / read more
