Not many options for food down this way, so when we were visiting a relative recently in the area we popped in for some take out. It's a pretty average pizza joint, although they did have a nice selection of items other than pizza. The place was clean but empty. In the corner were some baskets (think raffle baskets filled with a theme of items ie; movie night, car, etc) for sale which didn't make sense. Lady at the counter was super sweet, kept calling me dear and honey, although she was probably my age or younger. Meal was ok, it was a rueben, and would have been better if the meat was thinly sliced or chipped. Instead it was thick slices with lots of fat veining which made eating it difficult. Rosie's pizza is a very average pizza place. The food tastes ok but the service is what has dipped in recent years. They went from having no issues to 3 of my last 7 delivery orders having an issue. They have either: forgotten a drink, delivered the wrong item and then delivered the right item that the house it incorrectly ended up at had taken a bite out of yes (yes they delivered me a pizza a bite was taken out of), or just today, delivered the wrong items and would not recook the items. I ordered fries and by the time the delivery service ran back to get them they were soggy and ice cold. All in all there are miles better options in the area, I'm just stuck as they're the only delivery service or place willing to deliver to my house. So all the salads were warm & WILTED due to being put with hot food. Normally I wouldn't say anything however EVERYONE'S facial expression over the food not being properly packed for consumption was enough to warrant a mention. So $100.00 + tip later our question is why would anyone send an order out packed like this??? Since when did HOT salad and warm runny ranch/Cesar dressing become a thing? Ordered $65.00 Worth of food and quite honestly the only thing that was correct was the 2Liter of soda and my child's ravioli...I called to get the order corrected at which the "manager" stated she would notify the boss so that he could call me....when I stated why wouldn't she just call him and let me know....she then stated that she would issue the money back due to everything being wrong. Since their name is so similar to mine, I stopped in tonight to see if I could purchase a couple of t-shirts (and perhaps a pizza) for the family. The girl at the counter was pleasant enough, I asked if they sold Rosie's Pizza t-shirts (like the ones the staff were wearing). She said she'd have to go in the back and check with the manager. While she was gone, I noticed a sign on the wall saying that T-shirts were $6 (not a bad deal). The counter girl came back and said that they don't sell t-shirts to customers, only employees. Hmmmm. At my girlfriends suggestion, we decided to have lunch at Rosie's Pizza in Quarryville. 1st impression.... we didn't see any signs for face masks upon entering... and although WE BOTH PRACTICE MASK AWARENESS.... no one felt it necessary to have one on in the restaurant... now wait... before you judge... to clarify.... NO EMPLOYEE felt it necessary.. the young lady who obviously was doing double duty as host and server though it a good idea to have her meal on the floor WHILE waiting on us who by the way WHERE THE ONLY ONES IN THE PIZZA SHOP... We ordered a simple appetizer of Potato skins and a pizza Cheesteak. When she finally finished her meal she decided to go ahead and finish her workload. She gave us the Sandwich that was clearly cold and when she came back with the aforementioned potato skins I burned my finhers on the HOT LAVA PLATE that the tots where neatly arranged on. The more shocking piece to this hot potato was that the HOT plate they used to make them on... was put on top of ANOTHER COLD plate for "Safety" purposes. It occurred to us after I charred my thumb, that the simple solution to this obvious problem is to transfer ANY HOT FOOD HEATED ON A GLASS PLATE TO A COLD PLATE TO PREVENT SOMEONE from getting burned. What if it was a child grabbing the plate... And to add insult to injury, (No pun intended), when we told our server of this... she said that the OWNERS ARE AWARE OF the HOT POTATO pandemic. So... to summarize... the clear lack of responsibility towards customers... but MORE IMPORTANTLY, THE EMPLOYEES REGARDING CDC GUIDELINES accompanied by the lack of Neosporin would prevent me from giving this RESTAURANT more than 1 star... and if it was possible to give less than that consider THAT NUMBER,.... This past weekend I ended up in a scenario where the delivery driver didnt have enough change for a large bill resulting in him getting a 95% tip. I wrote an email to the management and within 24 hours they responded. I wasn't all that upset about the error but explained what had happened and that my hope was for a solution so that this situation could be avoided in the future. The manager (possibly the owner?) was very apologetic, explained what had happened which was more or less a policy and lack of communication on my part and offered to refund me the $39 tip. This type of resolution wasn't what i expected in sending the email but is resulting in my loyalty to order here in the future. I've placed dozens of orders and the food is always amazing and the service even better. It is refreshing to see a company that still puts the customer first! Keep up the great work!! We are regulars at Rosie's. When they first opened they had amazing food. The last few times we ordered delivery the food was carelessly made and cold, or missing ingredients that were on the menu. Just tonight I ordered a pasta dish. The menu advertised spinach and sundried tomatoes. What I got was cold noodles drenched in alfredo sauce with 2 or 3 sundried tomatoes thrown on top. Not even cut up or cooked in, just scooped out of the can and thrown on top. And no spinach. My son's cheese steak looked like it had been sat on. The pasta was thrown in the bag and dripped all over.The garlic bread was only half wrapped in foil. To top it all off it took them 2 hours to deliver and everything was cold.
