I'll start off by saying that the service was great. We were greeted and served by a very nice young person who was super friendly throughout our meal, even when my kids were being total douche bags. Thankfully there was only 1 other table when we arrived around noon on a Friday and they seemed very pleased with their experience. Anyway, first weird thing is that when we arrived I had 2 water bottles, one for me and one for my kid. We were told that we were not allowed to put the adult bottle on the table. I understand restaurants not wanting people bringing in food or drinks, but we would have only gotten water regardless of your rule, so it seems a bit silly to not allow a water bottle on the table. So I put it on the bench and drank it anyway. On to the food. My wife got a turkey sub which was described as "slightly worse than something I could have made myself with packaged deli turkey." One of my kids got a slice of pizza, which she said was good, though it was very very light on the cheese. Other kid got a hotdog, which he loved. Good job on that. My salad was the avocado bacon salad with grilled chicken. I watched a "chef" microwave the bacon, which was hot but dripping in oil, not crispy or fully browned in the slightest. The chicken was cold in the middle and based on the taste and texture seemed like it was precooked, frozen and then heated. The avocado was surprisingly the worst offender. Though it was a PERFECT color with no visible imperfections, it was very cold and tasted sour, which leads me to assume it was frozen and defrosted. I don't know and I don't want to know, but I had to spit it out and could not finish even 1/3 of the meal after taking that bite of what I can only describe as an expired avocado pickle slice. I asked our server to remove it from the bill which was done with no questions asked. Other than that, the place was clean and seemed nice despite the food. I would not return here.

For dessert, Affogato has long been my favorite dessert whenever I see it on a menu. Luca's is one of the best I've had. My husband loved the olive oil cake with the blackberry jam! So apparently it is impossible to just put two slices of cheese into only half of the sub. And because of a lactose issues, they charge an extra dollar just for asking for less cheese. I'm just glad I didn't order a pizza with half pepperoni. I'm sure I would have received a cup of pepperoni on the side and paid extra for each slice. Just ridiculous.... And the icing on the cake... Perhaps it's time to hire a friendlier, kinder face as manager/hostess. When bringing things to her attention, she deflected and turned blame to the "busyness" of the towns local events. With that being said, being of her obvious age and acclaimed experience, she should know to fully staff and properly manage her team. The seats will fill themselves, not needing her hand in literally asking guests at the bar to shuffle their seats to fill two others. Perhaps the patrons at the bar sat in the selected seats purposely, and for reason of disability, anxiety, etc. Never had we experienced a manager asking patrons, in mid-meal and deep conversation, to quite literally shuffle themselves to fill an empty barstool. Absolutely appalling. Highly recommend avoiding unless you enjoy overspending on lacking, cold, sometimes forgotten food, and terribly inadequate attention to details.
