Overcooked and inedible. I went there today for the first and last time. I ordered the chicken parm sandwich. The chicken was HARD, overcooked and inedible. I could barely even cut it with a knife. Obviously I didn't eat it, I just left it uneaten. I should also mention that even though 3 employees were standing and chatting when I arrived, there wasn't one clean table in the place. We stopped at Dolce Vita for a quick lunch during the workday. We did order to go and it was quick service which I appreciated. I ordered the Enzo's boli which did turn out great although it was a little bit greasy. Their sauce is not the greatest as it does have a very strong tomato base with little to no seasoning to brighten it up. My girlfriend ordered an Italian sub and the order did come out very wrong. When asking for it to be just ask it comes with the only alteration was to go light on the onion, it came with a decent amount of onion and missing all other veggies. Unfortunately we had already left and had not opened everything up to check before we made our way home. Admittedly I'm not keen on messed up orders, especially when the request was pretty basic. Next time we may consider another Italian place for lunch instead. PS: They are EXPENSIVE for the quality you get! $20 for a lunch with half of it made wrong read more

A concern while waiting for our order today at 515pm employees kocked over pizza boxes onto the floor and put them back for customers to have their pizza in. Ewww Thinking about what goes on in the kitchen if this takes place. Lastly, 1st cheese steak sandwich missing sweet peppers in sandwich and found in cup bottom of bag not requested, old tomatoes and lettuce, missing fried onions and mushrooms. 2nd cheese steak missing mushrooms and fried onions. Best pizza in Southern Lancaster County. Pizza not greasy which means they are using better quality cheese. Their dough doesnt taste like cardboard like other local pizza joints. Also, had their pasta alfredo with broccoli. The pasta was cooked al dente like it should be. Alfredo sauce was good but the broccoli was almost non existent. They lose a * for that. We placed an order on a Wednesday evening at 6:15. The order was supposed to be ready in 20 minutes. At 45 minutes we were told it would be another 35 minutes. At almost two hours they told us another 5 minutes. We got our money back and left. This is not the first time this has happened but it will be the last time we go to this establishment. read more

So far this is the best pizza we've found in Lancaster County. We used to live in the southern end so it was handy to have dinner there every Friday. New owners, lesser quality. Founder and person who built Dolce Vita from day 1 sold the business and the quality has declined since then. Used to be 5 stars. Now they're using cheapo mass produced soft grocery store rolls rather than proper Amoroso style sub/hoagie rolls. No point in going back since you can get better quality or better from the Giant grocery in the same shopping center for less. Unknown if pizza has declined, not going back to risk it. read more

Most of the time the service and food is great. However last time I had a special request ( nothing even complicated, just wanted no bun on my cheeseburger , but wanted leaf lettuce and cheddar ). The employee named Maria was rude to me and said " we dont do that " when I asked , however every time I place the order online they take the bun away and put the patty on leaf lettuce. Pretty good food! Very few vegan options, but they were able to accommodate my friend (although they gave us a LOT of weird looks along with our order). Take it from a local, this isn't Rocket Science folks, it sandwiches! Dolce Vita was a good shop when they first opened, they cared about their food, customers, and their customers' experience. Fast forward several years and now it seems they just can't seem to get an order correct. In the rare case the order taker gets it right, the cooks screw it up. What's more, it isn't necessarily the fact that an order gets messed, but how they deal with it. In our most recent experience, an employee kept going around and around about whose fault it was, who said what etc... This opposed to getting it corrected and keeping a customer satisfied. Seemingly par for course here. The easy response could have been sorry for the miscommunication, let's get this fixed. That will be the last order they will get from us. Not to mention our friends if we have any say. By the way, who puts hot subs in the same bag as cold subs - you guessed it - Dolce Vita. Beyond the inaccuracy of order taking and expediting, they have gotten very skimpy on meat portions and their bread is like eating day old donuts. Went there because the neighbors gave us gift certificates for a christmas present last year and hadn't used them yet. Ordered food and went to pay for the food with the gift cards and the staff informed us they do not accept gift certificates for the past 2 years. Excuse me but someone spent good money for these and the owner pocketed the money and now won't stand behind the gift certificates what a line of bull. If you go to the web site on the back of the card show how much money is still on the card but the management would not do anything unless I show a receipt for the purchase which was a Christmas gift.
