I attended a work event here. I was anxious to see the new location as they moved here a year ago or so, after Ruth Chris departed. We were served a pre-mix menu-- salad, I opted for Salmon and cheesecake. The Salmon was a bit bland but got the job done. I felt equally slightly disappointed with the potatoes. Things got better after the conference, as we made our way to the lower level for drinks. We were served finger foods (French fries, mozzarella sticks, and chicken) those items were much better and would be my go to, if I were just coming here to dine. A large group of us came here after an event on a Thursday evening. It should've been a red flag that the majority of the restaurant was empty during prime hours. One of our waiters came over to take drink orders and a few of us ordered Diet Coke. What came tasted like a weird regular cola and so we informed the server that it was not Diet Coke and he said "yes, it is". Everyone at the table agreed that it was not Diet Coke. He took them back and provided new beverages that still didn't taste like Diet Coke so we all ended up ordering something different. Another server came over to help and it seemed like no one knew anything about the menu. When describing the pasta Ragu dish, he said it was meat filled pasta. When someone in our party asked if one of the chicken dishes had bones in the chicken, he said he didn't think so. My sister ordered the Mongolian beef and he gave inaccurate descriptions of the vegetables that would be in the dish. How do you not know what is in the dish at the place that you work at? The Ragu was good (it wasn't meat filled pasta like he said), but it was served with two cherry tomatoes sliced in half just awkwardly placed in the bowl. The Mongolian beef was good, but not what my sister was expecting. The rolls that came on the table were definitely a day or two old. Soda was flat. Peppercorn dip with the steaks tasted sooo weird. The bus staff were friendly and efficient. I asked the waiter if i could be on a separate check and he acted like it was such a difficult request to do. He said he would try to do it and then when the bill came, he did not have it separate. There's just so many good restaurants in New York to go anywhere and be disappointed or feel like it's money not well spent. Won't return. read more

This place has such great potential I almost wanted to call them instead of leaving this review. I thought this would be more impactful. This restaurant is beautiful inside, spacious, really pretty decor, warm and welcoming especially on a very cold day like yesterday here in NYC. The staff were really nice, helpful and accommodating and friendly which is always a nice feeling. But the food...very average. The prices were fair for the location, but you expect way more delicious. My daughter's flatbread pizza was the equivalent of her having made it at home in the toaster oven, and the chicken parmigiana was fine but not great. Same for the other entrees. This restaurant has a lot going for it, but needs better chefs, definitely. It's also not an Irish pub in anyway, food included. First time visiting this restaurant. When you walk in you are surrounded by a beautiful wall unit of different wines and wall art. Very inviting atmosphere. The tables are spread out where you are not on top of one another, which is nice so you don't have to squeeze in to your table. Our waiter, Nick, was very helpful in his recommendations and had a very interesting story to tell us about his life. Walked in to get some steak for lunch. A big party was booked for the bar area as that was the only TV. Stood around and really wanted a place there with TV for college football. The host was super nice and tried helping out by sending us to another place with TVs, we walked out then decided to come back because the food looked better here. Then he worked some magic and was able to sit us at a table in the TV area. Amazing! Food ordered were all good except the chicken was overcooked. Steak was cooked very well. Definitely a bit more rare if you want medium (i had no issues with it) came with mashed potatoes. Burger was great. Fries regular. Chicken burger minus the buns. I asked for more lettuce instead but guess it's a rare request. No big deal since the portions were big. Ordered spicy margaritas which were great. All in all, it was a good place. Yelp reviews are definitely subpar compared to their google review. I appreciate the staff were attentive and had a good experience. We went for lunch. I went to Rosie O'Grady's with a group of drunk crime writers on a Saturday night. I was one of the drunk crime writers, fresh off a conference banquet where I'd had a small salad, a piece of meat, and an indeterminate amount of wine. There was a pre-party and an afterparty, but it was only 11:30 and we were all going home the next day. Someone said "Rosie O'Grady's" and we went. I guess the place is actually a restaurant, but it pulled a good late shift as a chill pub/sports bar with fast bar service and plenty of seating. I think I behaved myself and stuck to a beer, possibly two. I don't remember what I ordered, but it was something they had on tap, and I was happy with it. I'd recommend Rosie O'Grady's if you're looking for a calm place to drink near Times Square. It's not the most exciting spot in New York, but it served our needs quite well. read more

Before heading out to a Broadway show, we stopped into Rosie's for a light bite to eat. We ordered scallops over pasta as well as scallops and shrimp (prawns). Looking for something light and satisfying. The portions were substantial and very warm. Scallops were moist and tasty. The shrimp were grilled and complimented the scallops in my dish. They told 40-45 min. wait only 30! Relaxed Irish Pub setting the ambiance is what you expect wood and brick and a wee bit noisy but hey you're in a comfortable setting in NYC. I ordered the Shrimp & Scallop Risotto not exactly Irish but looking for light not heavy! The better half went for a Sliced Sirloin and Beet Dinner Salad. I felt the Shrimp & Risotto were a bit overcooked but it was tasty had asparagus & peppers chopped up nicely in it. I went for dinner after a show with a big party- around 15 of us. We were seated in a gorgeous back room with just us ! Our own waiter, ARIEL , was amazing !! SO attentive, kept all of our glasses full, & was just amazing the entire dinner (we were there probably around 3 hours ). Appetizers of calamari and Caesar salad were 5 . Filet mignon was great, crab mac was delicious (not too much crab but i didn't mind ) , lobster ravioli was good. Chicken parmesan wasn't the best. Dessert was wonderful though!! Hit this place as it's across from the Sheraton Times Square. Hubby and I shared the fish and chips plus a side of asparagus ! The fish was three large pieces... fried to perfection. Thin batter so fish was nice and flaky. French Fries we're average. Asparagus side was nice and yes shareable Hubby was disappointed that they were out of Bass on draft. We've been coming here for over ten years. It moved to its current location less than a year ago. We would say this place is more of a bar that happens to serve food as an afterthought. The dining room was incredibly understaffed and many diners were unhappy and complaining amongst themselves. Most waitstaff weren't veteran employees but seemed green and unable to keep up with the needs of the patrons. Service was mediocre at best. While meal and cocktails were decent, dessert was awful. I ordered "hot" apple pie ala mode(specifically asked the waiter if it would be warmed). The pie was room temperature and the top and bottom crust were mushy(like it was way past its Use By date). Ice cream was equally old and not fresh and had ice crystals in it like it'd defrosted and been re-frozen. Why would the chef allow such subpar food to be served to diners? We decided it's time to find a different place to eat when we come into the city. read more

A sentimental favorite as this was my dad's haunt for decades. The menu is your typical midtown bar fare - burgers, pasta, steaks, etc. However, the Shepherd's Pie is particularly tasty. Pair it with the French Onion Soup and you've got yourself a nice little meal. The staff has always been friendly and attentive, for as long as I can remember. Always a pleasure. The bar itself is lively and upbeat, or you can sit at a table if you want something a little quieter. Pretty cool pub style atmosphere right in the heart of Times Square NYC. We tried the burgers as we saw many of them walking by us and seemed like everyone was eating burgers! The burger was quite fantastic, airy and flavorful and very juicy. Cooked perfectly medium. No complaints on the burger. The fries however were kind of mediocre and greasy and tasted too much of oil. Service was also great. The bartender was very kind and helpful and really working to accommodate the entire bar, all of which he was waiting on alone which seemed like a feat.
