Delightful little bakery in the mall with delicious pastries and great place to get breakfast. Stopped into this pleasant little spot and it quickly became one of the highlights of the day. The display case is packed with beautiful Italian pastries and breads that look (and taste) straight out of a bakery in Italy. I went with the pistachio croissant. It was fresh, flaky, buttery, and not overly sweet, which I really appreciated. Also got a prosciutto sandwich in ciabatta bread. The bread was a bit tough but I guess that's how ciabatta bread works. It tasted great though!. Everything felt fresh and thoughtfully made. I am so happy to stumble across this bakery at the American Dream mall. It is right next to the skating rink and is in a quiet and bright part of the mall. The decor is clean and modern. There is a lot of sun coming in through the open roof above the skating rink, so perfect location to enjoy a cup of coffee. The pastries were amazing. I tried the fruit tart and the texture of the crust was right on. Also, the cream is smooth and not overly sweet, which is a good thing. You can taste the different flavors instead of just sugar. It was a treat to see all the delicious desserts and the hard part was not being able to try all of them. They also sell sandwiches and pizza which I've not had a chance to try. We were there new year day and the line was insane. The line was much more manageable this time and we decided to give it a try we love good pastries. We got an apple strudel to share. You can see the slides of apple on top. It was fresh but probably would have tasted better if it was heated. It is definitely on the pricey side l, we paid $7 for that little apple strudel. I, personally, had a wonderful experience, but I did come earlier in the day. I got a black coffee that tasted well where you can taste specific hints of different flavors. I also got a lemon meringue tart that was phenomenal. It was topped with a torched marshmallow topping that was decorated so aesthetically pleasing to the eye. I also got a raspberry cheesecake mouse that was on a chocolate tart. I love how both tarts had very balanced flavor profiles. They were not overly sweet, but sweet enough to enjoy as a dessert. Upon entering the line, the sandwiches, pizza, cakes, and bite-size pastries, plus coffee, smelled wonderful. We decided on the apple strudel and pineapple sfoglia with a macchiato. Cons: - The line to order food is confusing. You enter by the cashier, then walk to the food area, then back to the cashier to order - bumping into other customers as you go. Typically, you walk past the food, decide what you want, and then order. Also, certain areas by the food were blocked off so we couldn't get a close look at the items -They don't do any syrups to coffee drinks. No caramel, hazleneut, etc. Those flavors are for their non-caffeinated drinks. I feel like a flavored latte is a must for any place that sells coffee. - The wait to get my food was long. My croissant was already made/on display and I was second in line. Yet it still took over 10 minutes just to hand me the croissant (they didn't toast it or anything) after ordering. - It was expensive. $8 for my croissant. This caught my eye when I was on my way to Nickelodeon Park. It is situated in the American Dream mall and the open set up is very attractive to customers like me. I was very tempted to buy one of the pastries with pistachio and I did grab a pistachio croissant to go. I thought they were going to package it in a box but turned out they put it in a paper bag. Tried out the croissant and I tasted more chocolate than pistachio! Croissant was fresh though with chocolate stripes and very crispy. I ate every bit of it and enjoyed it with a latte on the side. Their lattes are very well crafted and smooth as you sip it. It gives you a milk mustache when you go for it which is a nice feeling. I love how the latte has frothy milk making the espresso less bitter than it is. It balances the espresso out really well. Overall this bakery is very well lit and bright. A very family friendly environment with their seating. Lots of spacious and large seating areas for large groups. All of these are items with bread, such as the variety of pizzas, pastries, many baked goods, and sandwiches.
