Pies, cupcakes, carrot cake, etc.

Absolutely amazing!!!!! The food, the coffee, the service. It's all great. Everyone that knows me knows I will travel for good pastry. This bakery is at par with Mystics bakery "Sift" which is top of the list. Parking is tight and this place is always busy so go with patience but I promise it will be well worth the wait. It has a cute rustic ambiance with indoor and outdoor seating.

You know you're about to have a good experience when the line is outside the door! Although the line was long, it moved steadily along. Once we got to the counter, we were overwhelmed with all the gorgeous pastries, breads and cakes! With so many choices, I had to bring some home. I did enjoy a French ham and butter on a baguette, which was fresh made and brought to my table. Specialty coffees had awesome flavor. I got carrot cake and lemon cheesecake to bring home and neither disappointed! They def need more seating because it was so popular! We'll definitely return.

OMG the best little spot out in the middle of nowhere. Fresh French pastries, espresso, and baked goods. So worth the drive out here.

Phenomenal breads! A gem is Central Mass. Can't wait to go back, even though it is about 50 min away from where I live by car.

Hanna's on Main - French onion soup: excellent!

I don't even like au jus, but it was so good, I would've been happy just to drink it. Who doesn't even smile at a compliment like that? Especially as I later found out she was one of the owners. She should have been over the moon. I'd say it wasn't technically a bad experience, but it also wasn't a good one. Also, it was right at the end of their first open mic and we knew the host personally. You'd think after seeing we knew their entertainment, she could have, at the very least, faked a smile. Kind of her loss as I'm a DJ and could have easily boosted their clientele, but I'm not going to recommend a place that makes it seem like it's a chore to wait on you. Even though she didn't know that, as someone who has also been in the restaurant industry for a large portion of my life, the very first rule of customer service is to make them feel wanted, no matter how you're feeling, and smiling at them is the easiest way to do it. Even if you're only doing it for the tips, being nice to people is one of the easiest things you can do. And being nice to others, will almost always make you feel good in return. It's a win win. As for the ambience, top notch. It's a very comfortable and relaxed atmosphere and it's not crowded like a lot of other restaurants (meaning the tables are properly spaced and you're not on top of other customers)

The place was busy with happiness through, Gail and Dennis, tending bar, were busy, I knew, but to see them check on all the regulars several times through and through, but never once asked me 'how was your stew?' I think if this place treated everyone like a regular they knew, it will be a five star. But what are you gona' do. So with that, I'd say ambiance could improve.

While I was visiting several places in Central Mass, I stopped in North Brookfield for dinner and decided on Connect Restaurant & Lounge, formerly Statz Restaurant & Lounge. I had previously visited the other location, Connect Restaurant in Spencer a while ago, but that location was closed (temporary). I saw mixed reviews of this North Brookfield location, but decided to go ahead and eat here. The place offers a cozy lounge dining room, a larger back dining room, and outside patio seating in the front (small) and back (larger) of the building. The menu offerings include sandwiches, burgers, salads, pasta dishes, starters, wings, soups, seafood, steaks, chicken, and desserts. They serve Coca Cola products here. The prices here seem fair, most entrees $11.99 to $25.99 range (in 2025). They also offer daily specials and their $9.99 entree specials on Monday - Thursdays. The bar offers 6 draft beers, bottled/can beers, signature cocktails, and mocktails. Upon arrival, since the place wasn't too busy, I was able to pick where I wanted to sit and seated myself in a booth in the larger dining room, just below the live music performance section, a musician was setting up. I was given menus and specials list to look over and got an ice water. While I was waiting for my food, I was given complementary fresh baked focaccia bread with olive oil, seasonings, & cheese for dipping. Next, the Classic Popover ($3.99 plus tax) came out hot, crisp outside, soft inside & hollow with maple syrup for dipping. Next, the Chicken Madeira ($18.99 plus tax) served with two side choices came out very hot with two sauteed chicken cutlets smothered in a rich madeira sauce topped with soft melted mozzarella cheese with soft linguine and fresh green beans on the side, filling up the plate. I was also given more focaccia bread & oil dipping too. After finishing my meal, I passed on dessert and was given the check with Toast QR code, which was $24.42 with tax and before tip. Overall, the food I had all tasted pretty good once again. I would return to try other things on the menu including the steak tips and another pasta dish. The service was efficient and prompt.

Crystal Springs brings a consistency of food quality, time, and care that has kept the restaurant in good hands in the last decades. Walk in and walk beside the bar, noting the diner is cash only, and into the two booth sections near the back so that your waitstaff can have easy access to take your order. The diner, near the back, updates specials and has a few consistent winners that keep recurring. The wall opposite your entry has a wall with a blown up photographed depiction of the town of Ware from the air many decades ago. One of the pluses of this all-day breakfast diner is that they also are a dairy bar, serving ice cream and milkshakes specifically. Expect Crystal Springs to be busy with locals and other out of town travelers at the corner of the plaza strip they're located at. They're near a busy entrance and exit way, and there's parking near enough to that ingress to be mindful of. Thank you for many meals, Crystal Springs, and I hope I find great photos I took of your diner one day to fit a review for a staff as reliable at 5am as you'd want in a diner.

But Yasser has and we are so grateful that he did. His cultural take and techniques when applied to some of the American diner classics makes one sit up and take notice. I think we can all agree the fried fish sandwich and fish and Chips is a New England classic. Imo, Yasser's fishfry technique and eerily light coating is truly something special; you will be hard pressed to find a better fried product anywhere. I had the most amazing salad and soup. This caprese salad was better than I have ever eaten! And the size? Unbelievable for the price. The soup, homemade butternut squash, was delicious. And, don't get me started on the coffee. I live for a good cup of coffee, and I had to get a to-go cup it was that good. With fresh, made-to-order food and amazing coffee, I am in heaven! And, I loved the atmosphere. Since we drove a fair bit to get here, I have to say it was well worth it. The girls behind the counter went out of their way to make us feel welcome and the owner was friendly and available for some questions we had. You don't see that everywhere and made us want to come back! We got to talking to the owner about the renovations she made to the space, and we loved getting the story right from the source. You can tell she spent a great deal of time in designing the new space. I am in love with the lights (I may have to put some at home) but the new bathroom - all bright and modern - and the counters and the cabinets of an open kitchen - I just loved everything. Sitting out front on the porch in those amazing rocking chairs, I cannot wait to come back for fall colors! And, I heard them talking about a concert they just had on the back patio, right by that beautiful little stream; I am so excited to be able to come back for their next event."
