That place closed some time back, & now I'm delighted that Mimi's has opened in the same, newly and very nicely renovated space. Kinda' old New England on the outside - contemporary on the inside. It works! The menu is a bit limited, breakfast sandwiches & lunch sandwiches, but is diverse enough for most anyone to find something they'll like. I had a BLT on wheat bread and a bowl of her hardy corn chowder on the cool, rainy, damp, early August day that I was there. The bacon was thick sliced, cooked just right. The wheat bread was surprisingly not toasted, but didn't detract from my enjoyment of the sandwich. Four stars only because of the limited menu, but it's really great to have this place for a light lunch on my "Quabbin Loop", 72 mile ride around the reservoir. Perhaps the menu will expand a bit as Mimi's Café becomes better known through Yelp & word of mouth. There were several locals who clearly have discovered this little hidden gem already.

Food- 4/5 Overall experience- 5/5…read more It was a fun spot to stop at to break up our drive back to Boston. The lot was small but many people were coming in and out so we didn't have to wait long to get a parking spot or outdoor seating. There are two shops: the deli and market with different vibes and items inside. The market is a quick shop with some snacks, drinks, coffee, and knickknacks. The deli is where the hot/cooked foods are at with some other specialty foods. The food was overall ok, nothing noteworthy. The main attraction is their Mac and cheese that had been circulating my IG feed. Don't think it's life changing but the shops have curated selections of local goods that are reasonable priced to get some last minute treats. Pass on the general tso(?) and the potstickers in my opinion unless you're really craving it. The desserts looked amazing and would definitely get one next time

We were able to get a spot in front with no issue, but I imagine that this was because it was a week day. We chose the Mac and cheese and the maple pulled pork. Both were worth the hype in my opinion. The mac and cheese was super creamy and paired well with the tender pulled pork. The baked goods were nothing to write home about. Maybe we just chose the wrong items? We tried: Oatmeal cookie - good, but not amazing. Chocolate chunk/ peanut butter cookie - stale as heck and basically inedible. I always am leery of saran wrapped cookies that are out on display because its impossible to know if there are actually fresh. The giant stacks of cookies were too enticing to pass up on. The chocolate cookie we purchased was definitely not fresh at all. $3.29 down the tubes - lesson on saran wrapped cookies learned (again). Carrot cake whoopie pie and original whoopie pie - both tasty, but the cake was too thick for my personal liking. We sat in the small outdoor seating area to eat. This was a nice little reprieve from the car ride.

Yesterday, with blinders on, I would not be sidetracked. The CB was excellent. Perfectly cooked w a nice charbroiled taste. The bun held up it's part of the bargain. It was lightly grilled and didn't fall apart (this is very important). Sauteed onions rounded out the experience. The burger was in my top 12 all time, and I've tried them in hundreds of places around the country. Fries ok, nothing special, but at least hot. Prices very reasonable, barmaid Cathy a fixture (and personable and efficient). Lots of friendly locals. Anyway, so many great choices on the menu, and daily specials. Wish it was closer. 5 charbroiled stars

The apple sangria was tangy, sweet and well balanced. Really went down well. So well I had a second one-to ensure it was as good as I thought. It was! They ran out of the prime rib special (it looked amazing so I'm not surprised). I got a French dip sandwich which was tender and well seasoned. Loved that the roll and the au jus were still hot when it arrived. The garden salad had fresh crisp lettuce and lots of veggies. I highly recommend McCarthy's Pub It is Sarmhaith (Gaelic for top knotch/excellent).
