I purchased 3 outside bait boxes from Rose several years ago. At the time of purchase, I was given a black plastic key in order to open the boxes for cleaning and to rebait. Apparently I misplaced the black key. Called Rose in Northfield and was essentially told "you're on your own". Really ? I followed up by sending corporate an email. Response - they need to rebait the boxes, sorry, no keys. Just ordered the key on Amazon for $4.00. Sorry, no more Rose. read more

One of the two administrative people named "Karla" that I just spoke to over the phone at the Northfield office was impatient and rude with me - a long-term customer/client who's been loyal to Rose Pest Solutions for over eight years! We hold three commercial accounts with Rose in the City of Chicago, and after today's call, we're changing companies. The first call today, I put Karla on hold because Steve (our technician) was calling me on the other line. She didn't wait thirty seconds before hanging-up on me. Karla, take it easy, you don't know the definition of busy. Become a business owner, then you'll truly understand the value of time. When I called back, I received a different Karla, who clarified that there were two Karla's in the office - and she then transferred me to the Karla I was orignally speaking to. When I put Karla on "mute" for literally five seconds, she started talking shit about me for putting her on hold twice, (first to speak with our regular technician, Steve Lowe, and secondly, to speak with my wife and business partner about the details of our request), and she couldn't even wait five seconds before talking shit about such a loyal long-standing customer. I told Karla I didn't flash over, and that she was on mute, and I heard everything she said. Needless to say, she's inexperienced and had nothing to say. Just another junkie employee who works for a paycheck, and doesn't work to build a company with the company's best interest in mind. Rose, has hired crap for their home office in Northfield. And why the hell is Northfield fielding calls for the North Avenue Chicago office? This was confusing to figure out. Anyhow, terrible customer service. What a shame. K is for Karla. If I could give 0 stars, I would. Hired them for mice, specifically, even though their service fee includes all pests. Our mice situation actually worsened after they treated our home. They also charged us a premium due to the size of our house, yet when the technician came, he very systematically placed just 3 bait traps in the same place they do for any size home - garage, attic, basement. He was here for no more than 15 minutes. I asked "what about the treatment for spiders, bees, which is included in the price?" And he said "well I didn't see signs of activity but if you want me to, I can". Hello! We paid $275 for a 30 day plan, OF COURSE we want you to give us the full treatment! Yet we got NO results... On day 14 we heard more mice, the technician returned and said "well I did see some activity in the bait stations but they are still full of food so you are good". So he did nothing and left. Then on day 31 we heard mice scratching and they refused to come back. This company offers a "one size fits all" approach and does not listen to your specific problem. For example, we heard mice upstairs in our bedroom. They still insisted on putting the only traps in the basement and attic. read more

I have never truly understood the saying, "Cut your nose off to spite your face" but I believe it would apply here. I have done business with Rose for 10 years. I recently received a phone call from a collection agency for an outstanding balance of $53.00. Let's start by saying I have never been put in collection in my life (by anyone), pay my bills on time and have paid their invoices on time for 10 years. So, no I will not pay the collection agency. I responded to Rose saying that a check had been cut back in May and my records show that the check has not been cashed. They said cancel the check and send a new one then we will take you out of collections and resume service. Wow, I kind of feel like a criminal! Does 10 years worth of on time payments not signify some level of trust? I asked if there was an issue over the past 10 years with my account and also asked why a representative from the company did not reach out to see if there was some kind of mistake. They did not budge. Obviously this $53 dollars was really important to them. Since I was overdue for service I asked if they could send someone out and I would have a check or cash for them upon arrival. Nope, the comment was that they could not put me into service while I was in collection. I asked if she was really hand cuffed by her computer in that way. She said yes. Well, I cancelled my service as well as the service for a second location. I realize my $1,000 dollars only adds up to $10,000 dollars over 10 years in revenue for them, but personally I would like to put that $10,000 in someone else's pocket for the next 10 years. $53 dollars? Really? You should be embarrassed. read more

I have been a customer for many years. Rose provides excellent customer service and their technicians are friendly and responsive.

I signed a contract with them for our 10 unit building. the technician showed up 15 minute before I did and he said that he was done. I told him that I was supposed to go in with him while he was doing the application, and that was when he admitted to him miss treating 2 of the 10 units. He went in and he treated the 2 units with the same tube of jell you get at Home Depot, no spraying, no going into the bathroom, and into any bedrooms or closets. An hour later I asked the tenants for their input, and I was told by two more tenants that he never came into their units, so it looks like he treated 6 units, and was forced to treat the other 4. The sales rep was told about it, and so was the manager and I told the rep that I had this issue with the previous company and I will not accept this from them especially on the initial visit. He offered a free reapplication trip, but I had told him that the trust is not there any more, and that I am cancelling the contract, which he agreed to do so. NOW I keep getting billed for the service, and they manager was informed about it, but she passes the buck to the sales rep and does not return my calls. So the bottom line is I don't recommend this company. read more

Originally used Rose for mice, (and it turned out bees), in the attic. Had a great technician name Jim. He was great and got the problem under control. He left, (wish I knew where he went). New guy.....doesn't go in attics and this is what Rose said: we do not go into unfurnished areas due to the risk and liability. (you are a pest control company right? For years someone always went up there). Time for a new company because I don't want to furnish my attic for the mice and bees. What the heck am I paying you for? And the way they schedule is just crazy: they set up your appointment on their time: they don't care if you wont be home. They tell you they service the outside and if you need services inside to call. They send you a bill. Lame and we have been using them for over 20 years. Times have changed. They need to fix their communication between their call center and the regular staff. The hold times are ridiculously long and too many mistakes were made that wasted a lot of time - though they are going to make it right - it was just a big headache I did not expect from them. Most people have good experiences with them and I had multiple 20 minute hold times, the wrong service performed, getting disconnected after holding, not called back after leaving voice mails, etc... ---- Update Once things were sorted out (after a couple weeks) - Jim Crawford came out. He is incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and friendly. He did an amazing job. The ONLY bugs I have seen since his visit have been dead. THANK YOU JIM! I called Rose because of my parents' good experience with them, and Jim was just like the person my parents had - very thorough, detailed, helpful. read more

Like many other people in my area, we have had an ant problem, each time they came they've managed to get rid of them in one visit! Rose Pest Solutions Northfield has been taking care of my home for a couple of years now. It has generally been a great experience working with them. The office is fairly easy to get in touch with. Our current technician is very polite and conscientious. I initially contacted them because I was worried that I had a mouse problem that I ended up not having. Even so, I hired them for routine maintenance. Their pesticide has proven to work very well. In my older home's finished basement, insects have been reduced dramatically. Rose also provides services to my city, Evanston. I have been pleased with their efforts to reduce the rat population in our alleys. read more

These guys have been great with a mouse issue we had in our home. They came out for the initial visit and did a great job explaining how they would help with the situation. They plugged holes and set traps and promised a follow ups. They have completed at least 2 follow ups that were included in the original price of $225. They are true professionals and also so kind. My wife has been mainly dealing with them and she told him that I had removed a few of mice after their demise and he immediately told her just to call him next time and he'll come right out. Such a nice gesture and definitely above and beyond the expectations. Also they even removed a bunch of insulation that had been covered in mouse "stuff." I called Rose Pest Solutions and they came out, inspected, founds points of entry and set bait, etc. They were very thorough and made follow up visits at no charge to make the problem was being fixed. I highly recommend Dave who is very thorough, knowledgeable, and professional. I have to admit, I wasn't happy with the first guy they sent because he was aloof, in a hurry and missed a key point of entry. We are in Winnetka. Almost every year we get annoyed by Yellowjackets (hornets). They nest either in the ground or, their favorite spot is under the eaves of the roof. We've had different guys come out but each time they put on their protective suit and inject a powder insecticide which kills off the entire nest including the queen. The powder acts slowly so they don't keel over right away, instead they fly back into the heart of the nest, carrying the powder on their bodies. In a day the problem is totally gone. Rose responds quickly with effective and relatively inexpensive service. read more

Steve Lowe is the man for getting rid of rats!!! I had a rat find it's was inside through the walls of my apartment. I tried for a week to get it with no luck. Steve came in, very professional and confident, set his traps, and the rat was caught that night! He also set up "last meal" houses outside. Before there rats running around all over outside...with a day or two, all that pest activity was gone. It's been over a week and I haven't seen one rat running around outside.
