Took my car in for repair ,I gave them the wrong number but called them at 1 pm to check on my vehicle .They had my car there all day and never actually checked on what the issue was after being told to glaring it in at ope and they would work on it When I called they told me the mechanic that was going to work on my vehicle was tied up with another vehicle from the day before.They never got to my car.Was told to bring it back and they would check it out.They called me and told me that all the controls and horn worked.I get there and tried the horn and controls on steering wheel and nothing worked.There is no way they pulled it out from the bay parked it and and when I got there and tried it it didn't work.Rose auto was sold from what the mechanic told me so beware if you take your car there.They waisted Two days of my time even after giving them another chance to make it weight. read more

I went here because it's right down the street from me. I had good hopes that they wouldn't rip me off. To my surprise it's one of the best automotive repair shops I've been to. They're friendly, fast and fair. I've taken my '96 Accord in there several times and they quickly diagnosed the problem and fixed it. I'm on a limited income so they worked with me to get the lowest price possible for my repairs. I always come here for my smog test. A couple times it didn't pass and they gave me a few tips on what I could do myself that didn't cost that much. Now a days it's hard to find an honest mechanic. Went here to accompany my fiancé with a smog check. She was completely ignored by one male there, who looked overwhelmed with just a few people waiting. Ultimately, the pricing was decent and they get you in and out quickly. If you don't pass, you don't pay. The other gentleman that worked there was very helpful and had a conversation with us. They don't provide the best service experience you'll get, but I've gone here probably half a dozen times for smog checks and, well, I continue to go back. read more

Took car in for diagnostic of engine light. I thought was going to be Rose Automotive but got bill saying Jess Harris Alignment & Brake. One mechanic said bad computer on car and other stated that it was carbon buildup inside cylinder head. The tech stated that they couldn't repair it. I verified that there was "NO" carbon buildup in cylinder head and called them back they stated that I took the vehicle before they could repair it. Then made the same comment that they couldn't fix it???? STAY AWAY. Lie to your face then take your money. read more

Went in for a smog and was told that my replacement vin(done by the ca highway patrol) looked fake and my computer was giving a different vin than what was on the truck. The guy said that they have had a new system for about two years and that they could not smog my truck because of this system. Well I have been taking my truck there to get smogged for over 10 years and have never had this problem. To top it off the couple before me didn't even have the correct license plates on their car(it was a bmw with Ford Explorer plates) and still got their smog. I recently bought an old truck, the previous owner had taken really good care of it and even another mechanic shop had said the same. My neighbor who had sold me the truck took the car in to Rose because this was the original mechanic place where the previous owner had done a lot of work and they even said the same thing at Rose about how this car was in really good shape and that they were honest with pricing etc. I bought a serpentine belt at O'Reillys and called that day to see how much it would be just to simply switch out the belt, they told me it would be $45. I also had a Sideview mirror that needed to be replaced and again I had the product ready to go I didn't need to buy anything else. When I get there they tell me the serpentine belt will be $45 to replace and when I ask about the Sideview mirror the guy with the glasses and the brown hair who was a bit tall said that to replace the Sideview mirror would be $85... I was so surprised. I asked him if he was really going to charge more to replace a simple Sideview mirror than actually changing the SERPANTINE BELT. As soon as I said that I feel like he found he was caught in an attempt to take advantage of me... And he said OK fine I'll do $85 for both the serpentine belt and the Sideview mirror (so that's $45 for serpantine belt and $40 for mirror) ... At that point I was so annoyed and said just go ahead because I was on a time limit... I went back to my neighbor and told him I would never go back to that mechanic place because it seemed like since I am a woman they really tried to pull a fast one on me... I suggest you guys go somewhere else...How does someone go from saying yes I'll charge you $85 to change your side view mirror to OK now I'll do it only for $40 bucks because I've noticed you're not a dumbass. Lol GO ELSEWHERE. Glad I know how to do my own oil change bc who knows, they probably would've charged me $100. read more

Upon a recommendation from a long standing customer, l took my 1999 Hyundai to Rose Automotive because my clutch was malfunctioning and grinding gears when shifting.....Thanks to Chuck and his honest staff, my clutch issue was solved by removing floor mat from under the pedal. Problem solved. My local Union 76 quoted $4000.00 for a new transmission. I can't recommend a kinder, more honest establishment. It took 2 hours for them to fail my car after taking 6to 10 additional cars in while I was there waiting. I called to ask if I can make an appointment and they told me no just to come in. I took my car in to get it's first oil change, it's a 2016 but it was new to me. The following morning I drove to work, about 50 miles, I got to work and put my car in park and my entire car filled with smoke and the front end was smoking once I turned my car off. I called the shop and they sent out a mechanic to which he informed me that he never put the oil plug in after changing the oil. I paid 80.00 for the oil change, and a month later my car still smells like burning oil, the low oil light comes on and I've even lost power. I never had any problems until this, and they are refusing to make it right. The owner proceeded to tell my father that the problem is because the type of car just came out with recalls. Previously I gave this shop a great rating, but unfortunately I have to downgrade. First time was brakes, took all day, literally, but it was fair price and it was done well. Second job was some ignition work, waited all day, told to come back next day, waited all day, wires attached wrong (honest mistake) had to come back next day fixed by midday. Third job, called made appt for 4 days out, arrived filled out paperwork, waited all day, told they would call me back next morning, waited all day next day, and the day after that..called back, told someone would call me. Two weeks later get a call asking if I still need repair. After questioning why it took so long, basically told it doesn't matter if you came first and waited, if an easier shorter time repair comes behind you we do that one first otherwise we could spend too much time on your vehicle....ok, that is fair enough, you don't want to waste time on a lengthy repair, but TELL ME THAT BEFORE I WAIT DAYS AND DAYS, my time is just as important to me as your time is to you. This shop does the repairs correctly, but the scheduler has zero respect or consideration for a customers time. read more

I will NEVER go ANYWHERE else! Rose automotive never lets me down! CHEAPEST prices in town and hands down BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE I have ever experienced in the automotive field. I showed up today asking for a quote on a valve cover gasket repair, as I was asking the mechanic the owner stepped out of the office and pointed out I had a flat tire. They didn't hesitate to fill up my tire and give me an amazing estimate for the valve cover gasket. I said thank you for everything but that I didn't have money to get anything done today but that I would be back. After standing there for a few minuets chatting it became obvious my tire was completely done as it was flattening before our eyes. Before I knew it they had gotten me brand new tires and installed them FREE OF CHARGE! This is not the only time Rose has treated me so well, they continuously fill up my brake fluid and oil free of charge on both my cars as well as give free diagnostics! And I have yet to find another auto shop that beats their prices! And while I'm at it let me add they are SUPER QUICK, I have never had to leave my car over night like other autoshops wether its brakes, motor mounts, tune up ect. They always fit me in and get me out fast! So if your looking for a good auto shop in east county Rose automotive is the place to go! read more

I'd like to preface this by stating that Chuck has always been an awesome guy to work with. This review is in no way a personal attack on him or the way HE runs things there. His employees, though, are a totally different case. My wife and I took our car in to have a small part replaced. Nothing major, just something to get it to pass smog. First they needed to wait on a part, but told us they'd have it by end of day only to call us after an entire day of waiting to tell us they had received the wrong part and the car was in pieces and they'd have to double charge for labor if they put it back together. Wife and I had to take a day off work because it's our only car. 1st day wasted Next day rolls around and they wait until almost noon to call us and let us know they never got the part, so they put ours back together and let us take it home promising we would only be charged for the initial labor. 2nd day wasted Fast forward a week, we are told the part is in. Brought it in right at 8am only to be told by a guy named "Tim" that they actually never got the part. So we leave with nothing again. 3rd day wasted One more week later, "Tim" calls us to tell us they have the part and presses that we show up early because it will take him all day to do it. Probably the rudest guy there. We drop the car off 10 minutes before they open and are given another promise that the work will be done before close. Well, 1 hour before they close, we get a call telling us they don't have the time and to bring it back on a weekday. 4th day wasted. That brings us to now. Car still has had no work done and we have wasted 4 Saturdays trying. One of us will have to take another day off work to make sure this job gets done and at this point it feels like a gamble either way. 5th day to be wasted. At this point, we are looking at other options. On top of all that, it seemed like they kept opening new work orders every time we brought the car in despite the original work order never being completed. While the guys working here seem like nice people, it doesn't seem like communication or long term memory take a priority. read more

Words cannot express how wonderful these people are. Early last week, after taking my son to school I blew a tire and stopped in front of this establishment. I was early in the morning and I'm standing there in pajamas, no phone or wallet. I approached a service tech and asked if I could use their phone to call a friend. He simply asked that I pull into their parking lot and he would install my spare at no charge. Quickly it was determined that my spare was not designed for my vehicle. This gentleman was so kind as to offer to travel and pick up a new tire and install it (knowing I didn't have my wallet) mentioning "I have sisters and would want someone to do the same for them" At this time my friend had arrived and we went to pick up the tires and return with them. They were kind enough to mount and install both front tires for what little money in had left. Kind, honest and trustworthy people are rare these days and this automotive shop is full of kindness and integrity. I have been a loyal customer for the last 15 years. When Chris was doing the work I had nothing but great service. The last few times ive been in there for smog ive had to deal with a cranky and unprofessional employee. After doing smog tests on my truck for the last 7 years ive owned it, he suddenly discovered it has headers. I didnt know they were even there. (Hey, cool, my truck has headers!!) Says he wont pass it unless I can prove they are CARB legal. Get the info and tell him where the part number is on the headers and he tells me that I need to prove they are legal. Uh, here is the CARB number, go verify the Part Number on the flange! Says no, he wont do his job and that he is going to send me to a referee. Guess what, it passed smog (Again) at another shop and the smog tech wasn't afraid to look at the header for the part number. I hope Chris likes losing money on you because thats all you are doing for him. Oh and he likes to fight after work, 5pm is when he gets off work and wants to meet me. Thats real professional. My girlfriend's Camry got new brake pads a few months ago in Northern California and when the brakes started squeaking again a couple weeks ago I decided to take it to Chuck. They checked it out and found a faulty installation by whoever installed them in NorCal. Rose Automotive then charged me a very fair price to get it done right and told me if I had any problems to bring it back to them.
