I was entertaining HER questions when you decided to add your 2 cents and debate things you weren't even asked to entertain. She is very sweet. There's no denying that. I can't be accountable for the way you act a fool around her. Poor girl was on the verge of a stroke listening to you berate your customers. You know this isn't the first (or last I'm sure) that someone will feel completely I'll leaving your presence. You think people want to hear what you say but really we are just trying to be kind, until some of that trash comes out your mouth and we stand up for ourselves. You can't stand a female calling you out and so you fight to get that acknowledgment you think you deserve. You really should just leave the customer service part to your mama. Which it desperately deserves. I walked into this business pleasantly greeted by a very sweet woman, the smog dudes mother, who is the only worker besides smog dude. I don't know his name, I don't care what his name is and I will never recommend nor revisit this poor excuse of a man's shop again. That was the beginning and end of anything positive besides the car passing smog. This guy had the audacity to voice his unsolicited opinions about my choice of tattoos and even better try to aggressively argue with me how they were contradicting one another. Somehow, he mistakenly thought I cared for his input and views on such things. He literally began to verbally harass me over my ROSIE THE RIVETER tattoo. If that wasn't exciting enough he continued this verbal diarrhea of why women and men aren't equal and blah blah blah for 20 minutes as if women had no place in traditionally male dominated roles such as law enforcement, soldiers... random crap that was clearly stating his personal views on where a woman's place was. I asked him why he was so aggressively trying to debate this and he literally said "I just want to hear you say that you think a woman can do a man's job equally". I have no idea why he thought today was his day to shine and spew his random thoughts where they were clearly not desired but it was basically a yelling match in front of his mama for 20 minutes and THANK GOD a customer walked in because who knows what additional information this gem would have shared. As I have just now learned this isn't the first time this dude has gone rogue over some unwarranted, NOT SMOG RELATED, topics. So in conclusion, friends, if you want to have the worst smog of your life and have lots of time to burn listening to smog dude ramble on about random crap that nobody cares about and slam women in front of his mama. The people here are very kind and helpful. They were quick and efficient and gave me good advice for taking care of my truck. Edit: it's been a day and a half since I stopped into this Smog center and I just felt I should add that the debit card I used here was compromised and money was attempted to be spent in great Britain, New York and Texas... luckily my bank caught it and stopped the charges. I can't prove that this business sold my information but all I will say is that I don't spend any money online and hadn't made any purchases at any other strange businesses since this smog center. I was also charged $105 for the smog test which I have been told was much higher than usual. I still recommend the business as far as the customer service. Just thought this was worth mentioning in case anyone else has a similar fraud issue. read more

If you are missing any labels or stickers . They won't pass you. My car passed all California emissions test everything legally making it drivable in CA. . A little piece of paper sticker is what won't pass you apparently. Went to my main smog guy by my house and he said you can't fail someone for missing a sticker . If your car fails the smog test, you still pay for the smog test and you have to pay for a re-test. Plenty of smog check stations offer free re-tests. Also, the thin, bearded technician is rude. Take your money elsewhere, there are smog checks on every block and I'm sure they are more accommodating and more pleasant than this place. After doing some research, Santee Smog Test Only has a history of being rude to customers and threatening to call the cops on others. Smog only took about 10 minutes, but the guy preached christianity to me for an hour while holding my keys hostage after I repeatedly told him I had to go. Not very professional, I came to get a service done not to be taught the gospel. It's a small, test-only shop (and also Star Certified station). No repairs available here, but there are mechanics nearby. Checking in was easy. Bring the registration renewal letter for them to scan a barcode and fill out some basic paperwork. The smog technician pointed out a worn emission hose. It was faulty for being brittle and dry rotted over time. He said he would run the actual test after the hose was replaced. It was a relatively simple fix after going to a nearby auto parts store to swap in a new line. Kudos for the heads-up visual inspection and giving me a chance to remedy the situation. As with most automotive places, wait times can vary, but there are a few diversions within walking distance. The couple working there are nice and helpful, but since it's just a small space, they don't have means to offer the free car wash deal like the smog and oil change business just one block away. Try to get this chore done sooner than later when they first open in the morning to avoid other weekend warriors working on their list of errands. read more

To begin, the service was very quick. I arrived early in the morning and without an appointment, the entire transaction took 10 minutes or less. I was bummed to hear that they wouldn't honor any of the coupons I had found online and decided to still go forward at full price, because well everyone is struggling with COVID and I wanted to help a local business. I was hesitant to sign the paperwork without any of the information completed and the employees still had me sign without all information completed (this detail is important for later). The major issue with this was that both of the employees in their haste messed up on data entry NUMEROUS TIMES. When I got home, I noticed the odometer reading was off by more than 100,000 miles! I know what you're thinking, they probably just accidentally entered a "2" instead of a "1." So I returned to the establishment asking for them to fix this error. Repeatedly they told me "it didn't matter" and "the DMV doesn't check that" and so on and so forth. Never did they admit a mistake and try to acknowledge their wrong in the situation. Infuriated that such a mistake could have been avoided had they taken their time and double checked everything PLUS they were placing blame on me, I asked that they try to fix the problem. Needless to say, they never did. I'm nervous now that the DMV will recognize this error and think I'm responsible for these errors moving forward. Overall, I was very displeased with their lack of customer service or simple acknowledgment of their error. The employees were more interested in making a buck and fighting then helping me to alleviate my concern over paperwork and issues with processing. The woman also continually brought up irrelevant issues into the conversation trying to place blame on me for things such as feeling uncomfortable in their 6x8 office space, which under normal circumstances wouldn't even comfortably allow more than one person to pass. Mind you, the employees were quite selective in their mask wearing and showed no concern for hygiene and sanitization practices which only amplified my concern for public safety. They were argumentative and rude. I would not recommend. read more

Gave me a timetable and started on my car immediately upon arriving. Took no more than 10 mins. He sent passed smog check electronically immediately to DMV so I can go o line for my tags. A beautiful older lady was also there working who was so nice and friendly. These fine stewards of the "I don't give a sh!t about customer service" foundation were just rude enough that I jumped back in my car and left after discussing potentially getting my smog check completed there. My car had an issue with some data needing to be generated for the smog machine to be able to complete a test. Without the data [generated by driving around at particular speeds for different amounts of time] the test would run but would not give me a certificate, and it was only possible to find that out after running the test. OR, these guys could hook up the computer FIRST and see if the data was there... they wouldn't do it. So I took my money elsewhere, and I hope others will, too. read more
