I appreciate the fact that this business is a test-only smog check place because I was ripped off a few years back by a place that insisted I needed to have repairs done after I had just finished having my car serviced by my mechanic, who I trust 100%. I learned from that experience and only look for test-only places. Smog Pros did a fine job however I wasn't prepared for how expensive it is even with their coupon to have my car smog checked compared to two years ago. Took my vehicle here yesterday. The guy was extremely rude and refused to smog my vehicle saying it overheated. The price was $78. I sat in his parking lot for 10 minutes with my car running just to prove it was not overheating (I had just had work done on the vehicle by a mechanic). He wouldn't even let me finish my sentences or questions before repeating "can't smog it. Take it to a mechanic" over and over. This morning I took it to Santee Smog Check Magnolia. They gave me a discount. It was $49, and they smogged it. No issues. No overheating. I had used my OBDII reader and knew it was going to pass yesterday. This was my second time coming here and I couldn't be more satisfied. The first time it was busy so the wait took forever but this time went so quick. I arrived around 345pm and there was only one car when I pulled up. They have two check stations though, so I was able to be serviced immediately. They also have a $20 off coupon on their website which is great because what would've cost me around $70, turned out to be $50. Compared to all the other smog places in the general area, Smog Pros has the best reviews so I definitely recommend coming here. Yesterday, I experienced the same thing that Rami P wrote about a few months ago. The technician said my aftermarket catalytic converter wasn't registering on their database. I said my catalytic converter is OEM (original equipment manufacturer) and the vehicle (2002 Jeep Liberty) has always passed smog as we take good care of it. Then I got some runaround that their system was down and that I could come back (after waiting an hour along with other customers), or they would call me when the system was back up.
