This store should be a 1/5, but I'll be lenient because they were nice to me initially when I first got my car. Basically in short, this store is the epitome of the message "Mechanics just want to take your money." Because once they realize they can upcharge you and influence you to repair more stuff, they'll take advantage of that. There's 3 instances: #1: my speakers were blown out and my touch screen didn't work. I had bought a replacement touchscreen, walked in, and told the worker the situation. He said that it'd be better NOT to do it that day because he would prefer to do it when I have both the replacement speakers and the touchscreen already. Because he said how it would make his life easier to have to take the car apart only once. Which, to be honest, is pretty fair I don't blame him. So, I'm like "okay", I ask him how much it's gonna cost and he says "$150 for touchscreen, and ~$100 for speakers." Which, to me, sounds like a good deal. Anyways, the next week the speaker arrives, and I drive to the mechanic shop with the replacements for touchscreen and touchscreen and they start replacing both. AFTERWARDS, when I have to pay, the worker says that the touchscreen replacement was $250 and the speaker was $150!!!! WHATTTT. I'm like "I thought you said it touchscreen costed $150 last week?" And he says "no, it's $250." BRO WHATTTT. Anyways, I still paid #2: I came in with my mom's car for an oil change and to fix the breaks, and I don't know anything about cars, I just know as much as the next guy. Anyways, they do that, but then one of the worker says "your breaks are pretty dirty. You want them cleaned? It'll only be a few more bucks." I'm like, "sure" it's my mom's car. I was thinking be a nice surprise to her. Great!-- The worker does it. But he comes back again, "hey, one of your taillights isn't working. We can fix it. It'll only be a few more bucks." Again, it'll be a nice surprise my mom to have it fixed! I do it anyways but at this point I'm suspicious if he really wants to help or if he just wants to take my money. DUDE HE COMES BACK AGAIN LITERALLY 2-3 MINUTES LATER TELLING ME THE CAR'S WINDSHIELD WIPERS ARE WORN OUT AND HE CAN CHANGE IT FOR A FEW MORE BUCKS. BROOO ??? I politely decline replacing the windshield wipers, and afterwards, I get billed $30 for the taillight lightbulb. I got billed $30 for something that could've been done in less than 5 minutes at home. That's just wild. I mean, he would've probably charged me DOUBLE that just to change the windshield wipers hahaha. After that incident, I get heartbroken that they would do that to me (just wanting to take my money) even though I was a loyal customer to them for a little over 2 years. #3: Around 2 months after incident #2, I bring my car to the mechanic because the tire pressure warning symbol was on my dashboard. I go in thinking that getting air is free (Im pretty sure it's legally required to be free...) But once he finishes, I tell him, "it's free, right?" And that same worker is like "Ehhhhhh it's just five dollaaarssss" BRO. I PAY IT BUT THAT DAY FORWARD I KNEW NEVER TO COME BACK HERE AGAIN. Just the fact that once they feel like they can charge you for anything, THEY WILL. Listen, if you're reading this, maybe I'm just a pushover and I should instead have fought back. And you're probably right But now I'm trying out a new mechanic shop that's cheaper, that doesn't try to up charge me, AND it's a shop that told me that they do give free air because it's mandated by law read more

Do not come by these scammers went in for a service engine light on my car quoted me $4,4k for new catalytic converters and new sensors, turns out it because of a bad battery voltage to the O2 sensors and the code went away after changing my battery and a drive around, took it to smog and it passed. I feel like family there and every time I am greeted I am greeted with a hug and a smile. As a woman, it's hard to find a place that I feel comfortable trusting everything that's told to me. Ive been a couple of times and each time was a different experience but overall not a very great experience besides fair prices. My most recent time I went they wasted my time taking 30 minutes to perform a smog test then at the end saying I have to take it elsewhere. I took my car to another place for the smog test directly after and they passed me. They're also the typical not so friendly mechanics. read more

I just need to share my experiences with this shop. I called to ask if they could tighten my timing chain tensioner and the guy said we don't have that tool. Let me start by saying... I've been coming to this shop for over 5 years. This was a shop that i trusted. I relocated 2 hours away, but visit San Diego/El Cajon frequently which led me to my review.... Today, I traveled from LA to Auto Repair for less specifically to get my routine oil change... mind you..there are a million other establishments along the way to San Diego. ...but i unfortunately chose this place. I apologize for not recalling the younger man's name...but after waiting over 5 minutes for someone to greet me in the lobby...i was turned away with no explanation why my oil change could not be done. I arrived at approximately 11:45a and i know the shop closes at 3pm... So when i was told my oil change couldn't be done... i asked the guy what time they closed so he could process the time in his head and figure out why i gave him the reaction i did. As a long time customer, i would have expected and appreciated more of an explanation. ..not just a simple "no, i cant do it today...come back on monday" Well, buddy.. i will just take my business elsewhere. Beyond satisfied with an older man who was a complete sweetheart and helped me right away.. the place across had 15ish people in line and had a 1.5 hour wait and I just paid $2 less than the guys across the street to get serviced right away... the guy was so friendly and approachable.
