We had a company breakfast meeting here this morning and it was awesome, the service the food and most importantly the way they went out of their way to accommodate our group. The food portions are huge and the prices are reasonable the coffee is great and they have plenty of parking not easy to spot when coming around the traffic square but well worth the trip. I have been here several times and recommended it to friends and family. However, this last time I went, I had a less than stellar experience. I ordered banana-chocolate-chip pancakes, which I have ordered every time I've gone and it's always been delicious. However, this time around, my pancakes were not cooked thoroughly and very battery. A simple mistake, no big deal! I brought it to the attention of the waitress and she insisted that the raw batter was actually just the mushed up banana. To me, this was clearly not the case but she continued to argue with me and had me taste the raw batter. Yuck! So she took them back and when she returned, I had the same two pancakes which had been maimed and she told me they had been microwaved so they should not be undercooked anymore. What?? I told her that I did not want microwaved, raw pancakes and she rolled her eyes and groaned, taking them again. When she returned a second time with my same pancakes, she informed me that the chef REFUSED to make me new pancakes and I had to take the raw ones. They continued to insist that it was, in fact, mushy, ripe banana. Then I was blamed for ordering "too many toppings" on my pancakes. Last time I checked, banana-chocolate-chip pancakes cooked just fine. Eventually, she offered to comp ONE of the pancakes and seemed apologetic. I was not satisfied with that and she did eventually comp both but I had to sit there as my friends at their meals because I was not allowed to get a fully cooked meal to myself. Unfortunately, because of this experience, I won't be coming back and certainly won't be recommending it to friends. We decided to try Roscoe on the way back from my son's soccer game. What a great breakfast place, it's small but cozy, and the staff were very friendly. Even though it was crowded, they were attentive, greeted us, let us know the wait, and sat us as soon as possible. The coffee were good, the food we ordered were seasoned properly, and portion size is generous. We ordered a English Muffin with egg and bacon, Kielbasa and cheese omelet, and small pancakes with side bacon. The home fries that came with my omelet were seasoned well and well cooked - I hate it when it's just a slop of potatoe cubed and quickly fried on the griddle that's tasteless and raw (like the other diner down the road from them on Summer Street). It had no flavor and was very dry, they need to soak the bread in the batter. The breakfast included coffee and juice but everything was under-seasoned. The ambience is meh. First time here for breakfast. Not packed with folks so got a table immediately. The whole counter was available also. Service was very quick, plus at least 3 servers asked if all was good thru our time there. Staff was very nice. Menu lots of variety. Farmers omelette very good. Eggs Benedict looked good though it was commented that the avocado may have been better if served cold, vs warm in the dish. Not long to get food & all was hot. Living here in town, we know parking is a challenge, but lucked out with 4 spots available out front (there's always the public parking across the street). I love that this place is in walking distance from my house. Our waitress was so kind and friendly. I ordered eggs benny, my favorite brunch item but the sauce didn't taste like it was made from scratch and the hash browns were from a can. My husband loved his eggs, bacon and homefries and my daughter loved her pancakes so we will definitely go back, I'll just make sure to get pancakes and bacon, my second favorite breakfast food. Visited Rosco's Diner in hopes of a good meal. Rosco served bad/old roast beef on an open face sandwich. We sent the meal back and he refused to take off the bill even though only one bite was taken from the plate. To top it off, he told the waitress that she would have to pay for the meal if she took it off the bill. The bathroom was so dirty that we had to spray cleaner in the bathroom. Where do I begin? If you like your toast un-toasted you should eat here. If you like aggressively watered down coffee you should try this place. This is the best cafe to find a clearly re-used omelet (that was probably sent back before and warmed up for the next victim). Our stomachs have a sharp pain in there after eating here. This was in the top 5 of worst experiences I've had in a restaurant! I went to Rocco's two weeks ago accompanied by a friend and my service dog, we were meeting his wife who was already seated at a table. We walked into the restaurant and to the table to sit down, the server approached and asked if my dog was a service dog. He clearly had a service vest on but I understand it's necessary to ask, I answered yes he is, without saying a word she spun and walked off to the kitchen leaving us awkwardly standing next to the table. She returned a few seconds later and asked do you have some sort of an ID? I said yes I have an ID printed for these situations even though it's not required by law. She took the ID went back to the kitchen and came back a minute later and said my boss doesn't want you here. I explained that the Americans with disability act is a federal law and Rosco's is violating every section. I said "Well can you ask him to come out, I'd like to speak to him?" To which she replied "I'm not going to tell my father to come out!" The server-daughter then said "It doesn't matter he just doesn't want you here!" I've traveled extensively with my dog and have really never had a single problem... and this happens in my home town! This all happened in a restaurant 1/2 full of people at 10:30 on a Sunday morning, sparing myself and my friends any further embarrassment I said fine, I turned to my friends and said let's go. my first reaction was to start making phone calls and kicking up as much dirt as I can. In the moment I considered not budging and letting them call the police and then watching as they drag him out of his hiding place in the kitchen and place him under arrest.But I was embarrassed enough at that point and after reading the other reviews and seeing that Rosco's routinely offends their customers... This place is a joke, just as much as the "Owner/Chef". When arriving at the diner it looked clean, warm and inviting. I was planning on getting French toast, but as I walked by a table and saw the omelet another guest was eating, I was sold. The egg was wrapped around a mountain of vegetable and cheese, oozing out of the omelet, it looked delicious. The server was a bit timid, and we could not understand why, thinking maybe she had a bad day. After being served coffee is when it started getting strange. One person in my group asked the server if the maple syrup would be able to be warmed if she ordered pancakes. The server seemed reluctant to ask the chef, but did. She came back to the table and told us that he would do it, but only this one time. Not a weird request, but we were willing to take it this "one time." We all ordered our meals. Two of us ordered a custom omelet, both were ordered with fresh tomatoes, fresh mushrooms and fresh green leaf spinach and cheese. Mind you, the spinach was listed as "fresh green leaf spinach" on the menu and we 100% made sure we requested fresh with the server. What happened next had to be the worst experience I have ever had at any food establishment. The server came back with our food. One look at the item they called an omelet, and I knew it looked nothing like that delicious omelet I saw when I walked in. What we were served had all of the vegetables mixed into the eggs, cooked like a frittata, then folded in half with cheese in the middle. First off, it was not an omelet, and most importantly, it contained garbage frozen spinach. I pointed the mistake about the spinach to the server. She again, reluctantly, said she would ask the chef if he could make it over. About 30 seconds later the server returned to the table and placed the exact omelet back in front of me and stated that the "chef/owner" said that he would not remake it, and that I was to just eat that one. The other two people and I got up and told the server that the chef was going to have to eat all three meals, because he was not willing to make the food the way it was ordered. When walking by the kitchen the chef/owner came out with a stack of dishes, so I figured I would ask him to reconsider making the omelets with the fresh spinach. He started yelling at me and parents, that are both in their 70s. He was screaming that should have ordered it with the fresh spinach, and that we could "F" off. The sad part is another guest heard us order our food and was trying to tell the jerk that we did order fresh spinach. He was not listening, nor did the server let him know that we ordered fresh spinach. He kept screaming at us to get the "F" out. Wow, we were taken back. This man thinks just because he owns the restaurant, that it entitles him to force his guests to eat food that was made incorrectly. After leaving the diner, we thought to look up reviews. I was not surprised that another guest commented about ordering fresh spinach and receiving frozen, and another guests food came out burned and when sent back, the chef told that guest that they would just need to eat the food. What an monster. I question how a business owner that treats his guests like that is able to stay in business. I would highly recommend not eating at this establishment. No one deserves to be treated the way my family and I were treated. I think my poor mother was traumatized after that experience. read more

We went here this morning for the first time. Once you get inside it looks a lot cuter than the outside. Friendly helpful staff. Decent portions. I asked for my home fries well-done and they were not well done. The "marble rye" was pretty all pumpernickel but luckily I enjoy pumpernickel. Roscoe's Diner has recently opened in Central Square in the center of Chelmsford, MA. It replaces Jesse's Place the former restaurant at that location. I found it to be a welcomed new comer. The interior has been freshened and presents a bright welcoming atmosphere. There are nicely appointed booth tables and a counter/bar with free standing stools with backs. Perhaps a liquor license is coming and a bar is in Roscoe's future? Roscoe's serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. Today was our first visit for breakfast. A friendly staff greeted us as we entered. We were allowed to select the table of our choice. The server was very pleasant and attentive from the first "Hello and Good Morning" until the bill was delivered. Service was prompt, attentive and never intrusive. A job well done. I ordered two eggs scrambled with corned beef hash, home fries, also known as "The Irishman" breakfast. For my choice of toast I selected cinnamon - raisin. My companion ordered a western omelet that came with home fries and she also selected the cinnamon - raisin toast. We both chose coffee as our beverage. Roscoe's provides a "bottom-less" cup of coffee. The mugs arrived almost instantly. The coffee was a hot, rich and tasty cup of brew to both our liking. Both our meals arrived within 5 minutes, hot and well presented. The portions were large but not overdone. A good hearty amount of food for a breakfast. My eggs were done perfectly. I am not sure if they make their own hash, but is was a generous serving that was grilled to a nice crispness on the surface and at the edges. Just the way I like it. I do not like overly seasoned, greasy or salty home fries and these were just to my liking. The cinnamon - raisin toast was done perfectly with a nice bright flavor. My companion was presented with a three egg omelet that was cooked perfectly. It evenly incorporated ham and onions but there were no green peppers as are typical of a western omelet. Her home fries and toast were the same as mine and she also enjoyed her breakfast experience as well. The lunch and dinner menu included some meat, seafood, salads, wraps and sandwiches as well as a number of Greek dishes. We enjoyed our first visit to Roscoe's and we will definitely be back.
