Update next day: I was so disappointed by my pizza the night before that I decided to stop by and try their food in person. I am convinced they had a rookie making the pizza I order the night before because in ordering a pizza with meat today, there was no question it was there and plentiful and flavorful. I retract my review of 2 stars and upped it to 5. Excellent place and food. 3/3/23 I heard so much about this place that we had to try it. Ordered three pizzas and bread nuggests appetizer and it was $118 plus $9 delivery charge plus tip. Two things turned me sideways. One was that I ordered a sausage pizza and there was hardly, if any, sausage on my deep dish. Three of us inspected it to see and I could find any remnants of sausage. If it was there, it was blended in; When you pay $40 for a 14" pie, it should have more toppings on it. My second gripe is when you spend over $100 for a pizza, you shouldn't have to pay for delivery, and second, $9 for a one mile trip seems excessive. Did the pizza taste good? Yes. It was tasty. That being said, you should be able to see the sausage and other items on a $40 pizza. It had olives, onions and peppers on it. Could hardly find them as well. Lots of delicious sauce I don't think my family will be ordering except for special occasions, but the flavor was solid. UNBELIEVABLE!!!! My family and I went to Rosati's pizza after my son's game, only to encounter the worst customer service ever. The manager, Barry, was incredibly rude and very confrontational, insisting we sit outside in 52-degree weather because we supposedly took up too many tables. After enduring 30 minutes of confusion and frustration, I discovered Barry hiding in the back, laughing at the chaos he created. This restaurant is a joke - I won't be returning or recommending it. Encinitas has plenty of great restaurants with proper service. Upper management, if you're reading this, find a manager who cares about your establishment. Wow! No wonder living in San Diego is a dream. This pizza place has some incredibly good deals. I got 2 18 inch pizzas, free garlic bread nuggets with check in, a Greek salad a deep dish Chicago style pizza and some toppings all for 100$. That's basically the same price as 6 piece sashimi at nobu. The food is indeed absolutely delicious. I have to say this pizza is one of the best pizzas I have ever eaten in my lifetime as a human being. The service was a little off in terms of waiting. The salad was delicious but tiny. The two pizzas are cut into squares instead of the triangles you normally would order them in. Come and try it out, you will be pleased. I was born in Chicago and I remember coming here 7 years ago and thought it was pretty decent. The Deep dish we got recently was the sausage, bell pepper, onion pizza and it was very bad. I will say this, the thin crust was very good and I think I'll be back to watch Chicago sports. Stay away from the deep dish if you are from Chicago. After living in Encinitas for over 20 years, I came to Rosati's for my first time today, and I was impressed. I did not know what to expect, I've driven by this joint probably over 1000 times, but I was pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere definitely have a sports bar feel. Being a Friday night, most of the tables were filled, and other people had the same idea, getting pizza and beer. The pizza was excellent. The sauce was super tasty. I came with five other people, and we were able to finish one of the large pizzas no problem! It was that good. They additionally had a good beer list. Quite a few different kinds on draft. Being a sports bar, the morale was a little bit low. The TVs are on the smaller side, so it's hard to actually feel "in tune" with the sports game. After reading so many reviews, we were excited to try this place. I wish I would have thought to take pictures- but in the short 10 minutes we were there, the shock of the situation surprised me. I was there with 5 families- headed to eat after a baseball game. I am a mother of three boys, including two toddlers. As I walked in with my little ones to the join the rest of our group (I was the last to arrive), I immediately heard the floor manager complaining about the fact that the restaurant was now full. Such a strange thing to complain about, but okay! I walked over to our table of 4 and went to sit down. We had a large group, but we had immediately broke into several smaller parties to accommodate seating and table availability. We know it's not reasonable to be served all at once, in one large group. As the servers reached our different tables scattered through the restaurant, we were told (at our respective separate tables) that they could not accommodate our group. We clarified that we were all at separate tables and we were okay with a little wait, we weren't in a rush. The servers went on about how our party was a lot and they could not accommodate that. We were genuinely confused- as again, we were all at different tables. It was only our team logos on our clothing that would have identified us as one large party, not our seating arrangements. We had pointed out that If we were 5 separate families that walked in one after another, that this would be the exact same situation. Would you refuse to serve five different parties? The manager responded by telling us that they just weren't going to serve us- and literally saying the words- "WE DONT WANT YOUR BUSINESS." The polarizing effect of sitting at a table, with your children, hearing the servers tell you that you can't be served, is disturbing- and embarrassing. It's also incredibly frustrating. Let me be clear, our group was not loud or rambunctious. I could understand if the kids were running everywhere and making a scene. They were not. So we left. Packed up all the kids, all the people from the tables across the restaurant and left. It was such a surreal, wild experience. Put it on my list of firsts- first time being refused service after being seated. As I re-read the reviews, I quickly spotted a trend. All from the immediate local area of Encinitas- and all small parties. Im not posting this review to be a troll or a tattletale- but as a story of caution specifically to the large family/group people out there. This spot is not it. Bottom line; if you are a party of 1 or 2- this spot might be okay for you. If you have a bigger group- 10/10 do not recommend. If you have kids- definitely do not recommend. I came here on a Tuesday evening about 4:30 in the afternoon it wasn't busy at all. I sat outside at the patio with a friend of mine. My friend wantied a beer and some pizza. The service is terrible, very slow don't sit on the patio because you will never see the waitress. The waitress works behind the bar and services the tables. We ended up getting a meat pizza with pepperoni, bacon, and sausage. We also got a beer which was probably the best part of the meal. About an hour after eating the pizza I had severe indigestion the sauce did not agree with my stomach. I had to walk into the restaurant, and ask to get our check because we never saw anyone especially after the pizza was dropped off. We did get garlic knots, but that was from checking in with Yelp, and that was very greasy, and doughy. The marinara sauce I think is what caused the indigestion to begin with. This is disgusting. Maybe just maybe if there wasn't 15 - 17 year olds running this restaurant then they wouldn't serve me this ridiculous pizza. Yes I ordered extra cheese before but it was nothing like this. Extra cheese usually means maybe a handful more not an entire cup of cheese. The jalapeños aren't even spread out. This is a nightmare for lactose intolerant folks. I love Rosatis ever since my family enjoyed it from Bloomingdale, Illinois since I was around 8 years old in 2005. Two sando's and an order of half baked garlic knots for $42. Can't do it again Rosati's. Would highly not recommend anybody getting a sando from here. If you are craving killer Chicago style sando's and dogs, make a morning or day of it and drive up to Portillo's in buena park next to Knotts Berry Farm. This is a review for delivery (we've never eaten at the restaurant). The crust is really tasty and I like the cornmeal bits on the bottom. Unlike many places in town, the crust isn't too thick and it's topped with plenty of cheese and toppings. I think the wings are only ok. Thank you, Rosati's for feeding my hubby and me during the Stay in Place. We ordered way too much food, but ended up eating it ALL. Rosati's took our online order, made it, packaged it up safely and delivered it promptly, to our front step and in under 45-minutes. We went with the thin crust this time and I'm so glad we did. It was cut into squares, super thin and cracker crisp with a perfect amount of sauce, cheese and topped with pepperoni and olives. We also ordered a house salad with the homemade sweet onion dressing that was divine. I could eat that off my hand and be just fine with that for dinner. Came here for dinner before our movie and that was a mistake. SERVICE - Our waitress was very slow. She checked on us once and we never received water refills. When we were waiting for change, it took some time. I mean she was a really sweet girl but she needed to pick up the pace. I saw other waitresses who checked on their tables often. FOOD Fried Pizza Dough - We got seated a few minutes before 6:00pm and ordered around 6:05pm because we looked at the menu ahead of time. The pizza dough bites came out at 6:38pm. How does it takes that long to fry pizza dough? No idea. It was very good though. Tossed in butter and garlic. Slight crisp on the outside and soft inside. The Godfather (deep dish) - This came out at 6:57pm. I understand deep dish takes some time but wow, almost an hour to get pizza after we ordered. This had a lot of flavor with very large pieces of Italian sausage. The crust was crispy and held the toppings well. It was a solid pizza but terrible wait time. Rosati's Monster (Thin) - This came out at 6:57pm as well. I wanted the crust to be on the crunchier end but it was on the softer side. This was incredibly salty though with the olives and Canadian bacon. Overall, the food was not too bad. The wait time and the service was really slow. We could not enjoy our pizza because we had to rush out for our movie. We heard other people telling their waitress "why is it taking so long?". Not thrilled with the wait time for food. read more

If I could give a zero star rating I would. I've been a customer for many years and have never been so disappointed. Received a coupon for a free 12' cheese pizza for my daughter's birthday so when I called to place my carry out order I provided the details (expiration date, coupon code, etc.). Since this is a nationwide chain, I ensured it was this exact location, which it was. The rep on the phone said they would not honor it because their system wouldn't accept the code. I've used many coupons over the many years I've been coming here and have never had an issue. I asked to speak to a manager and they said I could not, but they could send a message to the owner. The coupon expired and was never contacted. As irritated as I was, I placed a the same order because my wife wanted it after a horrendous week. Even though I didn't want to give you my business after that exchange, I did it for her. I asked for a ranch and they said it was a dollar for the smallest size and it wasn't even full. Had I eaten there they never charge, so I'm confused as to why they would charge for it. I drive all the way home (20 minutes) just to open the box and it's the wrong pizza. Contacted corporate and no response. As much as I truly enjoy this place, I will never come back and will gladly give other restaurants my business. It's a shame this was all over a 12' cheese pizza. Deep dish pizza something that's close to my heart wile at the same time killing it slowly with one delicious slice at a time! Coming here I knew what deep dish I was getting into and I must say it's about average here when it comes to the deep dish as the flavors were partially there as I felt the sauce was the best part of this pizza as it was super yummy and kind of made up for the lack of sausage on each slice. The crust my favorite part of any deep dish was really average and not as flaky and as buttery as other deep dishes I've had but it was still better than some. They offer a check-in offer for a order of their fried dough which is pretty much pieces of I'm guessing leftover dough which is then fried and sprinkled with some Parmesan to be served with Mariana sauce for dipping defiantly a nice free snack to share with friends! Overall decent pizza nothing crazy either way I doubt I'll be back here as I've seen a number of pizza places in the area that I'm more tempted to try! read more
