Great bakery. So many choices.my favourites are the wheat loaf bread and their sourdough bread

I'm torn on this one. The baked goods are AMAZING, but the coffee is not. If they hired a proper barista or got one to train the staff, this would be a 5 star review. It's not because if I want their delicious pastry with coffee, I currently have to take them to go or bring my own coffee. I often end up going to Soul Grind because their coffee game is better even though their pastries are not nearly as good. read more

Bread is the star; sandwiches, croissant, sandwiches and wait times leave much to be desired. Even pre-ordering (an hr in advance), expect a wait in line. Sandwiches and croissant were very carb heavy, not balanced. I'll still be coming back for the bread, especially the Sesame Rye. PS I also appreciate they sell a smaller loaf and yesterday's breads that didn't sell for a reduced price. Those seem to sell fast so come in the morning. read more

Taking a moment to appreciate this beautiful croissant! It was delightful. Flaky, moist, crisp on the outside. My friend purchased their baguette and we could tell how high quality it was--it made a wonderful crunch and we could tell that the inside was soft. We came close to closing and had regrets that we didn't get out of the house earlier to see what other beautiful pastries they had. We must visit again! read more

My partner brought back a few pastries from this bakery, and yum! The croissant is so buttery, with a nutty aftertaste, and the outside is so flaky! Only thing I noticed was that the croissant was hollow in the middle, so not much breading in it. We also tried a savory danish, and it was delish! The danish was also flaky and crunchy, and pretty buttery. I enjoyed the onion and Brie cheese combo- not super oniony but just enough for that flavor boost! After looking at all the other pictures, I'd want to visit and try their specialized toasts and pizzas! read more

I've reviewed this place before, and I stand by their chocolate chip cookie and ham and cheese croissant. Both are beautifully made. The cookie is crispy on the outside but soft and chewy on the inside with lots of browned butter, flaky salt and thick chocolate. You can tell they know how to make their cookies, and worth the $3. The ham and cheese croissant is made from sourdough and gives it a nice additional flavor. read more

So yummy! I love coming here. I make it my point to come to this bakery every time I am in town. It is SO good. I buy about 3-4 loafs and then freeze whatever I can't finish and then toast it when needed. Also love making my croutons with this bread. The bakers here are so friendly and clearly love what they do. Everyone is so eager to help and share their creations with you. A bit expensive compared to the grocery store but honestly SO WORTH!! We stopped by the bakery for blue corn cookies--great when purchased elsewhere--and a bread. We bought four cookies, small ones for $3.75 each. They were uncooked in the middle, hard to do for small cookies. Service was not great. Why does the young woman use her bare hands to put cookies in a box? And finally, there is one restroom for the cafe/bakery. It had no working lock. Instead, it had a note saying there was no lock. In a bit of time just about anyone could have put a latch on the door. Someone can put up a note and not fix the lock??? I think the lack of a latch, says it all. Rosalind should pay attention to details, and it just doesn't. read more

Great local bakery with small town sevice. I like carbs. It's quick, easy, and convenient. When I need bread, crossaint, a sandwich, a bakery item, if I'm in town I'll swing by here. They have all your carb needs here. Including dessert items such as cinnamon rolls and brownies. Everything is fresh and reasonably priced and I feel better going with a local bakery like this one over a major chain store like Safeway for baked goods. read more

Needed to find a spot to actually "work" during our trip. If the request is for a short stop like this, I usually search, Coffee. This small town bakery pulled up and just happens to be my daughter's name!!! In love with it before I even seen it. It was definitely not a secret. Long lines that went quickly, but allowed you to gaze at all the choices. It was mid morning and they had sold out of some of their customer favorites, which didn't bother us since we hadn't tried them, but made others scold their own selves for being late to arrive. On this late morning/brunch they had cooked up these amazing smelling pizzas, that pretty much everyone was purchasing. I had already eaten a large breakfast elsewhere, so I stuck with my order of a small coffee and a chocolate croissant. Both delicious and perfectly done. You can tell the employees enjoy what they do and take pride in it. It was well run, well organized and super clean. If I lived even a tiny bit closer, this would easily become my most frequented stop. read more

Delicious little local bakery shop! We stopped by here on a whim and did not regret our decision. The pastries were super fresh and flaky, though I can imagine them not being so if you came later in the day. I did see some day old pastries on sale, but I think if you're looking for a croissant, you're better off paying a bit more for a fresh one. 1. Chocolate croissant - 9/10. Super crispy and flaky with a good amount of chocolate inside. I find that a lot of places only give you a flake of chocolate, but Rosalind actually gives you a decent portion of chocolate. 2. Ham and cheese croissant - 8/10. I'm usually not a fan of ham and cheese croissants, but this one was actually tasty! I still prefer the chocolate, but I decided to try this out given how tasty it looked. Definitely recommend this one if you're more of a savory person. read more

Don't know where this gem has been hiding in all 4 decades of my Daly City life. It's the best bakery in town and I love how it's so accessible in the Manor plaza area where there's virtually unlimited parking space. I'm a fan of the huge Coastside sourdough loaf (of which saddens me to realize that I am lacking a proper LONG bread knife) but also their assortment of breakfast items like the egg sandwich and scones. Wishlist item: toffeedoodle cookies. As of now, looks like you can only add them on to an existing order if you're lucky. So disappointed I missed out on the full box during Thanksgiving. Rosalind Bakery though maybe not ideal for outdoor dining it is a good option for takeout. Hearty loafs, plus a nice mix of Pastries are offered, I opted for a loaf and 2 muffins. The Cranberry Orange Muffin had delightful tart notes from the Cranberries, as for the Banana Nut, it lacked any noticeable nuts, and was heavily spiced but still enjoyable. I have yet to slice the loaf but it's very substantial with a rustic crust, I'm looking forward to trying it. Update : tried the Walnut Sourdough Bread, it's really good As for the location it's easy to access, there is ample parking, and my interaction with the staff was very pleasant. Bought 5 items that cost $55+. It's definitely SF prices, so locals like me think this is expensive. It's $13 for a loaf of sourdough bread. Pros: - Easy parking - Near other convenient places like Safeway and opened for a large window of time - Lots of baked goods to choose from Cons: - Untrained cashiers. I know they hire local high schoolers, which is great for the community, but they didn't even know the menu well when I asked them a simple question about bread and coffee. It doesn't spark confidence in a potential buyer and held up the line. They also didn't look like they cared whether or not my question was answered. - The crust of their breads are all very, very dark. This could be your preference, but it isn't mine because it creates a slightly bitter taste. read more

My first experience of this bakery was at the Half Moon Bay Pumpkin Festival. They were selling pumpkin pie. It was very good! This prompted me to visit their actual bakery. About a year later I did. It was at the end of the day and not much was there. So I go back again, and buy day old bread and a pastry. Prices are high! Keeps me from buying more items. I go back again for another base line on their bread, the previous time the girl talked me into the longer bread, and it was too dry for me. Third time I finally get a round loaf. The guy tells me their slicer is broken, so I take it anyways. All in all, I'm not in love with their product because it didn't wow my pallet. Just the annual pumpkin pie. VERY UNSANITARY! - I went yesterday and there was a couple carrying each a dog in their hands and the cashier had gloves on that she use for EVERYTHING. The guy who was holding his dog gave the cashier cash and the cashier took the money, gave changed from the register back and GRABBED the pastry all with the same glove. When it was my turn she didn't change gloves and touch my pastry as well and money. At the end of my day I was having Severe stomach pain! And that was the last place I ate before getting SICK. They should be more careful, clean & not welcome dogs in an open food area where you have pastries in the open. Will never go again! read more

The blue cornmeal cookie is revelatory! Okay, that might be an exaggeration, but it is one of my favorite cookies nowadays. From what I've learned, blue cornmeal is sweeter than traditional cornmeal, and that comes through in the cookie. It tastes like nutty cornbread with a soft, mealy texture. The cookie is less sweet than the sesame or toffee varieties at Rosalind, and that's part of the appeal to me. I like to pair the cookie with one of their sweet lattes, either the cinnamon or vanilla flavors. Everything is grab-n-go for now, but they have a few tables set outside. I've also tried the blueberry muffin and corn and cherry scone (corn is a theme in this review) and enjoyed them. I've yet to try their bread, sandwiches, or other pastries (I've been eyeing the cinnamon roll and morning bun), but I'll be back soon enough to try more. read more

This had to be fate. Last year, my husband and I decided to staycation in Benicia. The morning we were due to check out - he and I went through coffee withdrawals and desperately searched for craft coffee. Thanks to Yelp we were able to find Dead Eye Coffee just 2 miles away from our hotel. There we had one of the best iced vanilla lattes we'd ever had along with this cornbread-like scone that nearly changed my life! (Ok, that's an exaggeration but this scone was transcending). Found out from the owner of the cafe that they're delivered from Rosalind Bakery in Pacifica. I was bummed cause Pacifica is, like, WAY TOO FAR from where I live AND I am hardly ever on that side of the bay - well, until this past weekend. I went to visit my Mom who now lives in the area and we'd looked up some local places to eat for lunch. Rosalind happened to be near the restaurant we were going to! Sure enough I had to stop by after our lunch and grab a scone. They had ONE corn scone left!! I'm telling y'all it was FATE. This scone and I were meant to be together. To reunite. It's like reconnecting with an old friend. It was that Carrie Bradshaw moment when she comes face to face with the perfect high heeled shoe. "Hello, Lover" I said to the scone. If you know, you know how much I love sandwiches, especially on freshly baked bread, which is exactly what you'll find here at Rosalind Bakery. This spot has been on my must-try list for a while, and I was driving through Pacifica, I'd seen they do a breakfast sandwich and it was the perfect excuse to stop n try it! When you walk up, there's an ordering window/kiosk to order from. The breakfast sandwich is $8 + $3 if you want to add bacon. The sandwich comes with a farm fresh egg (cooked to your preference, grilled sourdough with their house-made pimiento cheese. After tax n tip, it came out to $14, and honestly it was worth it! The bread is grilled to perfection and is hella good. The bacon was a medium thickness, and the pimiento cheese was melted and dripping all over the place in all its goodness. I ordered the egg, over-easy, came out more done, but it didn't matter, this was still definitely one of my favorite breakfast sandwiches I've ever had. Highly recommend if you are looking for a breakfast sando. In their window, they have all their loaves and pastries, which all looked so good. Definitely plan on coming back to buy some baguettes and fresh sourdough bread. My parents love fresh baked bread, and I know they'll love this when I bring it home. read more

My only complaint is with their steep prices for pizza (and sandwiches) For $9 I thought I'd treat myself to a what I thought was going to be a generous square or rectangle slice of pizza, but when I opened the box later I saw a rather slim slice... i have no qualms about paying for good food, but this is over priced, imho.
