I've been coming here for awhile since I live within walking distance. Love their morning buns and their croissants are also a solid choice (although I've had better). There are better bakeries in the City, but this definitely is a decent alternative on the Peninsula. I will say I did order online recently, yet when I picked up the order, I still had to wait in the same line. So, what was the point of ordering online then?! Seemed completely pointless. read more

The chocolate croissant and the regular croissant were not good. Their prices are ridiculous for the lackluster croissants. I'd rather drive out to the city for better croissants. Their baguettes were decent. The service was sooo slow. They need to hire another person to pack the pastries. I would not recommend. read more

The best bakery for sourdough bread in Pacifica and Daly City. I came across Rosalind 3 days ago through an article that listed Rosalind Bakery in their top 10 list in the entire Bay Area. A bakery in my backyard and I had no clue about it, this I had to investigate. I placed an online order for their 60/40 sourdough, followed by their soup of the day, a vegan lemongrass sweet potato soup that comes with a side of, you know, what else, but some sourdough. The order was ready within 15 minutes, and parking in the outdoor strip mall complex is plenty. I was greeted with a warm smile by Nick Gonzalez, who made the experience 5 stars. While picking up, I started chatting with him about pizza - and yes they have pizza available with a focaccia base on weekends. Note to self - go there on a weekend to try their pizza. Nick mentioned his favorite is the Coastside sourdough that his family loves (this is your classic sourdough loaf), and his ultimate go-to is the Rye Sesame (12% pumpernickel rye flour sourdough with toasted sesame seeds, not just outside, but on the inside as well!). I left my wallet in the car, so Nick offered me half a loaf at no cost. Who does that? So grateful I got to try it. Both the loaves (or is it loafs) are crunchy on the outside and super soft on the inside. I asked Nick about the 'sweetness' in the description and he confirmed there is no sugar added. Any sweetness is natural. TBH I couldn't taste any sweetness. I really like the bread. It's rich, decadent, you feel like a French royal, who was fortunate enough to get the best pain a la sourdough. This has the promise to beat Tartine. I preferred my bread toasted, with a dip of simply high quality astringent cold-pressed greek single estate olive oil. And on some bites, add a little extra sharp cheddar. The soup was flavorful and a perfect dip for the sourdough slices that accompany it. With carrots, and a luscious emulsion of lemongrass creamy goodness (the creaminess from sweet potatoes). Spiced just right, to let the subtle flavors dance on your palette. Rosalind checks all the boxes to become my go-to bakery. They sell out soon, so head there in the AM. And if you meet the wonderful Nick, say hello and get a taste of what every bakery should aspire to be. read more

I love supporting local bakeries and this place is absolutely amazing. From the location, people, aesthetic, and of course, their amazing breads! Their cookies are buttery and soft, sourdough is amazing and I love the fact you can get half a loaf. I had a breakfast sandwich, blue cornmeal cookie, and a dirty iced matcha latte. Absolutely incredible! They sell out fast so come early if you want to try some of their sweet pastries. This is a definite must try if you're in the area. read more

Bought 5 items that cost $55+. It's definitely SF prices, so locals like me think this is expensive. It's $13 for a loaf of sourdough bread. Pros: - Easy parking - Near other convenient places like Safeway and opened for a large window of time - Lots of baked goods to choose from Cons: - Untrained cashiers. I know they hire local high schoolers, which is great for the community, but they didn't even know the menu well when I asked them a simple question about bread and coffee. It doesn't spark confidence in a potential buyer and held up the line. They also didn't look like they cared whether or not my question was answered. - The crust of their breads are all very, very dark. This could be your preference, but it isn't mine because it creates a slightly bitter taste. read more

Tasty sourdough breads made by a proper ferment. Happy to support a local good vibes biz that's worth the drive over the hill. My only complaint is with their steep prices for pizza (and sandwiches) For $9 I thought I'd treat myself to a what I thought was going to be a generous square or rectangle slice of pizza, but when I opened the box later I saw a rather slim slice... i have no qualms about paying for good food, but this is over priced, imho. I suppose I'll stick with the loaves of bread that cost about the same :) Otherwise, 4 spatulas! PS: I came home to find an item missing from my bag. I should have double checked the order especially after seeing two other people return to the bakery and say they were missing items, too. I was in a hurry to go home and don't notice until later in the day. read more

Rosalind Bakery - $9 pizza slice? ... would appreciate a bit more to the slice, please! - Bakeries Near Me - Pacifica, California

Nice cookies; tasty and good balance of sweetness/saltiness; friendly staff; nice layout.

VERY UNSANITARY! - I went yesterday and there was a couple carrying each a dog in their hands and the cashier had gloves on that she use for EVERYTHING. The guy who was holding his dog gave the cashier cash and the cashier took the money, gave changed from the register back and GRABBED the pastry all with the same glove. When it was my turn she didn't change gloves and touch my pastry as well and money. At the end of my day I was having Severe stomach pain! And that was the last place I ate before getting SICK. They should be more careful, clean & not welcome dogs in an open food area where you have pastries in the open. Will never go again! read more

This place is a straight rip off. I paid $7.00 for a croissant that was mediocre. The only reason I paid was because I was late for work and needed something in my stomach. They got me one time but never again. Better off going to Starbucks. I do not recommend! read more

A hidden gem in Pacifica, Rosalind Bakery has never disappointed. The baked goods, pizza, and coffee are always amazing and fresh. The vibe inside the cafe feels homey, and there are usually plenty of places to sit. I'd say whether you're visiting Pacifica or are a local, this is the type of place you should come to as often as you can. read more

I always passed by here every time I came to grand hotpot and today I finally had a chance to try their iced vanilla latte w/ oat milk! Definitely a perfect taste if you're a coffee connoisseur :) read more

Disappointed by country bread with burnt crust, and dry sourdough. At such high prices, one could expect much better.

One of my favorite bakeries when I'm in Pacifica! I tried their chocolate croissant and ham and cheese croissant this time. The chocolate croissant was my favorite!!! The best almond croissant I've ever had in my life! Stop reading this and go get yourself one. Right now! The croissant is very flaky and crispy. It's baked to perfection with layers of buttery goodness. The almond filling tasted fresh and flavorful. It has the perfect amount of sweetness and the almond flavor is not too overpowering. The almond cookie topping makes the perfect crunch which elevates the croissant to a whole new level. I will definitely recommend this bakery! read more

Bread is mediocre and expensive. $16.00 a loaf is crazy. Service was meh also. I was so excited to try the olive lemon sourdough and I was disappointed. read more

Really good breads. Our only complaint is the olive bread...the first taste was outstanding. Great kalamata olives and flavors. The second loaf contained only green olives. Good but quite blah in comparison to the kalamata loaf. We spoke to one of the employees who in turn spoke to one of the bakers. Kalamata olives are supposed to be the only olives used... So, ask which olives were used prior to purchasing. Their cookies are really good! Our fav is the toffeedoodle, followed by chocolate chip. Skip the sesame; the taste is a bit too strong. read more

We really loved Rosalind and would often come here on the weekends since we live nearby. We noticed the price hike and now a baguette is $7 and cinnamon roll is $10. We rarely go now because the price is crazy, patisseries/bakeries in SF are way cheaper. When we did go today (3/5 at around 1pm), the cashier was super rude and unhelpful. She had an attitude and did not seem to care. I used to think the staff was friendly but she completely changed my opinion of this establishment. I hope they can come around, decrease their prices and hire better staff! This used to be a neighborhood gem but I'm not sure what happened. read more

I couldn't wait to try their blueberry scone. Evert time I'd go in, they were already sold out. Yesterday I went in and they had two left so I purchased both. I had one this morning and I was very disappointed. For a blueberry scone, there was not one blueberry in the whole middle part of the scone. There were probably three or four on the top of it and that was it. I felt like I was eating one big sugar cookie. read more

I like their bread and when I'm in Pacifica- I make sure to stop by and see what's left for the day BUT... the girl who works behind the counter - brown hair - with an attitude that she doesn't give a Sheet - at night is a total jerk! She overcharged me and then acted as if I was stealing from her. Big attitude for a twit who works behind a counter. Better places in the city to get bread. read more

Expertly crafted pastries in an unassuming, welcoming space directly in front of the water. Owner is pleasant and welcoming, extremely passionate. As a supplier of bread to locally and nationally recognized restaraunts in the bay, the man knows sourdough and a perfecf crumb. Savory pastries of ham and cheese croissant are complimented by a delicious but not overpowering dijon mustard and everything seasoning. When house cured pastrami and sauerkraut are available, get as much as you can. Used to be a long-ish wait in the earlier days but now with more staff, typically a quick and delicious morning breakfast in walking distance to ocean views. Oh and the coffee is excellent, which is typically hard to come by with bakeries I've found read more

Ok. So I went here months ago and tried a few pastries from their Covidish "Don't come in, we'll serve you through the doorway" retail set-up. It's early 2023 or maybe late 2022. In any case, no reason to hold that against them. But I'm a long-time Pacifica resident, and a previous chef/manager with La Boulange Bakery, previous to its purchase and dismemberment by Starbucks. So on the one hand, it's nice to see Pacifica finally get a real bakery - of high quality - and a little irksome to be offered pricing above and beyond SF pricing. I mean Belinda Leong charges less for Croissant, pan du chocolate or kouign amann - not sure Rosalind's even does kouign - and NOBODY makes better than her store. So, Pacifica now has a darn good, overpriced bakery. They largely do wholesale, so it's not like they particularly care to compete on a retail level. If you want it, that's our price. Last Tuesday we flew back from my niece's wedding in Pittsburgh. Yesterday morning my wife bought a large batard at the Rosalind shop. This is bread made using the best lavain and proofing methods. Friends, I have to say this is as good as the best bread I've had anywhere in the world. Don't know what she paid. But I would pay it as well. Delicious food may be a luxury but it is delicious none the less. read more

A gem. My mother in law had brought us over day old pastries that were delicious but I didn't know where they were from. Finally came in and got them fresh along with some Peppermint Mochas? Ohhh tis the season. I had an almond croissant and the wife crushed her butter croissant. With a great selection of seasonal muffins, morning buns, and of course croissants, there's a pastry for everyone. They bread also is very, very good. I have had the country sourdough and the baguettes and they are top notch. Definitely worth a stop if you're in the area or headed down Hwy 1 for a ride. read more

Bread and pastries are excellent. Though pricey than other specialty bakeries but woth the trip. OVERALL: I came across this place at the Burlingame farmer's market (Sunday mornings, 9am - 1:30pm) on Park Road. Around noon they were sold out of a bunch of things, so go early; I think they said before 10am. The two guys working the booth were very friendly. They told us about their location in Pacifica and different items they have there (more than what they bring to the farmer's market) and their hours/location. I hope to make it there someday to try more things. FOOD: We got a sourdough loaf and a baguette. Both were very good and fresh. I wish they had more stock of the items they were already out of because I would have bought more. They were also selling different types of flour - great for right now since a lot of people are baking at home! This is super picky but I wish the bottom of the sourdough was a bit crunchier. Still very good though and would buy again. read more

For a bakery I was expecting a bigger variety of coffee. Service was good and the food I ordered was good. Worth trying

Needed a quick sandwich in the area and saw Rosalind. Got the pastrami sandwich on their sliced sourdough. Yum! I didn't take any pictures, but there are so many pictures from yelpers. Their plain croissant $5 was crunchy, soft inside, not too buttery. The chocolate chip cookie ($3.50) had chocolate through out. Big yum. The salt really complimented the taste. Soft center. Someone in line raved about their muffin. I must go back to try their bread. Looked really hearty. Oh, they had fresh potato chips, very tasty $7. read more

I was thankful for the review that noted the "sneaky" location and lack of sign. I popped in here with the intent to stay away from the bread, but omg, it was impossible. I had been buying their pizza dough for years at the farmer's market, but I had no idea that the brick and mortar location has amazing seasonal pastries, warm quiche, and lunch specials including a pasta salad and mac n cheese today. It's warm from the ovens, and smells amazing. On a weekday morning there was plenty of seating. I'm a huge fan. read more

I've been eating the Italian Hoagie frequently for a few months, always with the Caesar salad; delicious dressing & parmigiana cheese. Today I had a new version with pickled veggies and mustard seeds and it was very disappointing. Left an unpleasant taste in my mouth. Couldn't even taste their usual tender meats & cheeses that usually melted in the mouth and made it heavenly. Also noticed the shrinkflation; increased price, and less meat. See my photos. Was this a one-off or is it the new version of Italian Hoagie? I hope it was an error and I can still get the original version. I will check before ever buying again, as they are pre-made for take out, so you don't know until you get home and open it, and it's too late:-( I guess it would be helpful to be verbally told its a new version or post a sign on racks announcing the change in ingredients..... read more

Short and sweet review--my FAVORITE PLACE FOR CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES. Large cookies with the perfect amount of crisp and chew. Chocolate isn't crazy sweet like I prefer. The sea salt lightly sprinkled on top is the best added touch! All their cookies are 3 for $5. Love getting these when I need a little gift as a guest invited to someone's house. Also love their Toffeedoodle cookie--a yummy snickerdoodle cookie with some extra crisp from some toffee on the bottom. If you come on a weekend, make sure you come before noon to secure the goods--they often start running out! read more

Is there any better confirmation of this bakery's quality than witnessing THE (former) craftsman from Craftsman and Wolves? Yes, we saw famed baker William Werner picking up pastries from here. In his own words, this place is "great." IMO, I don't think this place can compete with the pastry from SF bakeries, but for the Peninsula, it's def a fun find. I wish the coastside sourdough was a bit more sour, but the almond croissant was nice and full of sweet almond paste.
