Regular banana bread with walnuts. Soooo good!
    Christine C.

I came across Veronica's outstanding mouth-watering banana bread at an event. She had made a vegan version of it for the event and it tasted amazing; it was the best bite I had at the event. That same evening, I emailed Veronica to place an order for a game day we have that upcoming weekend. Veronica responded quickly and we agreed on a window when she'd deliver. While I really enjoyed the vegan version, I decided to try her banana bread in the way she recommended - regular, with walnuts. Come Saturday, Veronica let me know she will be able to deliver the banana bread at my preferred time, and she did. Lemme tell you, it's sooooo good!! The crunchy caramely crust, the soft, still warm, moist insides, and umami buttery flavors was heaven on earth; the banana bread was loaded with quality ingredients, and it was amazing. We had a couple of friends over, and everyone had thirds; we all loved Veronica's banana bread. Having now tried both her vegan version and the regular walnut version, I'd say I loved both versions, and would probably order whichever I feel like in the moment for future orders. In addition to the yummy goods, Veronica was truly a delight to work with. I'll be looking for more excuses to place another order in the near future!

Organic Chocolate Chip Banana bread, CUSTOM made for me and the price is worth it! Made with love!

Nina's home bakery is the only place I will ever get chocolate chip banana bread! They delivered to me and I right away had mine with some whipped cream and a glass of milk! The owner is not only friendly but very caring for delivering to me! Get yours for the holiday, special occasions, or if you're like me and need to get your sweet craving satisfied! Thank you so much! This will be my first of many orders to come!

Ordered two banana bread loaves - one with walnuts, other plain without nuts

This is a hidden gem and I'm so glad to have discovered a wonderful small business! I ordered banana bread and chocolate chip cookies, both were beyond delicious! Veronica is the sweetest baker, and when I picked up my goodies they were still warm. My parents who are super picky actually asked me where they can order another loaf. No pictures of the chocolate chip cookies because they were eaten too fast! Will be ordering again soon.

    Banana bread

You haven't truly tasted banana bread if you haven't had a loaf from Nina's Home Bakery. I am a huge banana bread fan and consider myself super picky. As soon as I picked my order, I was pleasantly surprised at how substantial (read: heavy) the loaf was. The smell alone was mouthwatering; I couldn't resist sneaking a bite in the car on the way home. And OH MY GOODNESS. I don't even know how to explain what my tastebuds went through at that moment, but hands down, it surpassed allllll my expectations - the crust was perfectly caramelized with the perfect amount of crunch, the loaf was not too fluffy, not too dense... I meant to take nice photos with my cup of afternoon tea, etc. but this is the only one I managed to take just 30 minutes after I got home.., after my normally picky children ravaged my precious cargo. I warmed this piece up the next day in the toaster oven and it was just as divine as it was the day before. I can, with 100% confidence, declare that Veronica makes the absolute BEST banana bread I have ever tasted (sorry, Mom). Needless to say, I have ordered several more times from her and will continue to do so on a regular basis. Her banana bread is my go-to gift for friend's birthdays, housewarming parties, etc. and I love that she can accommodate vegan and gluten-free diets as well. I just recently tasted her delicious banana chocolate chip cookies, which I'll be adding to my regular order going forward. :) Best of all, Veronica is the sweetest, most down-to-earth person ever. It's hard to believe that she just recently started her home bakery; I'm so excited that her business is growing - she clearly puts in so much care, attention, and passion into her baking, and I know this is just the beginning of great things to come for her!

    Banana chocolate chip cookies

WOW WOW WOW WOW. I got the banana chocolate chip cookies and the walnut banana bread. As a banana lover this was perfeccccttt. The cookies were fresh, soft and warm, sweet with a hint of salt to balance the sweetness. Perfect. The bread was crispy on the outside soffit and moist inside. Customer service was also amazing Nina was quick to respond and very helpful. 10/10 would recommend 10/10 would get again!

I ordered the Godfather sandwich based on previous photos. I thought it was going to be some kind of a loaded sandwich since it was $20 after tax. When I opened the box, I was a little bit worried that I had ordered the wrong sandwich because it was about the size of my hand. I looked at the photos and I thought ma'am it's kind of looks similar, but maybe I'm just missing something as a scale. But if you look at the layers of the meat, there are actually less layers now than there were 12 and eight months ago. I'm not saying it's a bad sandwich. I'm just saying it's a bad value. The Caesar salad seemed like it was prepackaged in a box. The cheese, kind of taste like refrigerator. And there was no lemon or any kind of anchovy sauce or flavor in the dressing. At the time of writing this review, this restaurant has 4.6 stars shame on me for not reading the recent reviews because I'm not sure I would have ventured here if I did.

I know what I did and I heard her loud and clear, but she said it like want us to leave because she looks so angry. I will be more than glad to pay for it, but she made us all Felt like we were stupid not understanding, we should had just left but we just came back from Burlingame and wanted to go to Cafe Central but the line was impossible to wait, so we said let's just go to our favor spot which is Brother's cafe. But after today experience we will not return, she did not even came by and asked if the food was okay or if we need anything else, we had to ask someone else for a paper cup. It took her a few minutes before she brought me another cup of water and repeat the same thing again and again that she threw the plastic cup in the trash because of me. The worst part we notice she was eyeing in us and told her coworkers, as we left the waiter that normally come by gave my sister a hug and we can tell, he said see you guys next week... which it will not happen. She did not need to scream so many times and repeated herself so many times even the table next to us just turn around and said what is the big deal. Yes I should had know better but my 14 year old dog was happen and issue with the heat from Burlingame. I love this place but after the server ( Latina women with glasses mid 30's-40's)not just try and give us a lecture and scream at me and kept telling me because of what I did she throw the plastic cup away, instead she could be more calm and use a better wording we would had enjoyed our late breakfast. She only had to say it once but she made a comment that is not expected, by eyeing us from afar and we feel Like she wanted us to leave, we could not enjoy today's meal. This is a restaurant not a home do some respect for your self and your customers. Thank you for the last 7 years of food, we had enjoyed every Sunday since. By the way I would be more than happy to pay for the plastic cup, and I am sorry this upset her so much she made us felt like we are not welcome anymore. I had a business in San Francisco and my employees know better than to behave with such attitude.

We had heard such great things about Hula Hoops and were excited to come for Mother's Day brunch. When we arrived Sunday morning, we were seated right away, which was great. However, our party of six was seated with only three food menus and five drink menus. I asked our waitress if we could get additional menus for the rest of the table, and she explained they had run out and were waiting for other guests to finish with theirs. We ended up asking if there was a QR code version we could scan, and she brought one over. I was mostly confused why the QR code wasn't offered immediately, knowing half the table didn't have menus to begin with. It just made the start of the experience feel a little disorganized. That said, there were definitely some positives. The sparkling cider for Mother's Day brunch was a really nice touch, and the Shanghai lumpia was fantastic. I ordered the two-protein silog breakfast with eggs, and while the flavors were good, the single scoop of rice just didn't feel proportionate to the rest of the plate. Any Filipino knows you need a little more rice to balance everything out, so I ended up not finishing my meal because it felt off portion-wise. My son ordered the cheese omelet and said it wasn't his favorite, especially the potatoes. The ube waffles were really yummy though, and my husband enjoyed the sisig tater tots. Overall, I'm glad we finally got to try Hula Hoops after hearing so many good things, but unfortunately it didn't quite live up to the hype for us, and I don't think we'd return.

Let's start with the service. Our server was incredibly attentive from the moment we walked in. We were handed menus and then asked if we preferred still or sparkling waters - we opted for the latter. Next, he politely made some recommendations to the more popular items on the lunch menu. We went with his suggestions and he did not disappoint! For two people, we shared the following two items: * MEZZE PLATTER - hummus, babaghanouge, falafel, tabbouleh, and pita ($19) * BEET SALAD - roasted heirloom beets, carrots, goat cheese, honey thyme vinaigrette ($18) For our entrees, we had the following: * BEEF SHAWARMA WRAP - lettuce, sumac onion, pickles, tahini sauce, mixed greens ($19) * ROASTED SALMON - pacific salmon, turmeric rice, grilled broccolini ($29) Food was absolutely incredible. Fresh ingredients, simple preparation, Mediterranean fusion, and assembled thoughtfully without compromising nutrition. I am a fan. The restaurant is beautifully decorated with an inviting style for large groups, intimate fireside chats, or bar seating. They even have a pretty neat happy hour menu that I hope to check out one day. All in all, this is a top fav in South City. Looking forward to a future dining experience here!
