    Fluke Security at the entrance

Saturday night, some dummies running security. Showed them my ID and they refused to let me in, saying my id shouldn't be able to bend. They choose random people and power trip over them. This has happened to a few of my friends in the past who are over 21. They don't know how to do their jobs - hire better security that know how to properly check IDs.

Had to make an account for this, the DJ absolutely killed it tonight and this bar stepped their light show game up 1000%. It was incredible. Me and my friends will definitely be back if they continue to kill the competition like they did tonight!!!!

We had my sister's 30th birthday party here and it was an amazing experience. The staff were so kind and helpful to all of us. I lived in Philly for 3 years, but the pretzels here were the best pretzels I've ever had! The games were a highlight of the night, especially the bowling. Would most definitely recommend this place for parties or just a fun night out in Baltimore!

Rope walk is exactly what I imagine when I think of going out anywhere in Baltimore or other cities. It's ideal for so many different types of people- the sports watching bar goers, the clubbers, the foodies, people who like live music- and even more. Recently I got dinner here before partying the night away, and I must say, I was really impressed with the food. We got mini tacos and the chicken sandwich and devoured both. Happy hour drinks are good too. Play skee ball or other games to win free beer too. Friendly staff encouraged me as I came close to winning a free beer- only a few points off. Overall, you can't go wrong here.

Unfortunately, I don't think that this was a great showcase of the restaurants abilities. For food, I had the Caesar salad to start, which I can honestly say was a decent caesar, nothing to write home about, but no complaints either - think your basic Caesar. For my main I had the crabcake entrée and to be honest it was just not good. The crabcake was beyond dry and the coleslaw and fries were fine but that that's not what I came for. I do have to say that dessert was great, the carrot cake was without any complaints. The only other thing that I had was the seasonal martini on the drink menu and it was so bad that I couldn't take more than one sip. Other people did like their food, but we all left saying that it was not a great meal. In discussing service, the service itself was good. Our waitress was attentive, but kept jumping into our conversation and wasn't dressed totally appropriately for wait staff in my opinion, she was very attentive though. Ambience is interesting here - it feels as though it has no ambience almost. It's just like a bunch of tables in an outdated restaurant with minimal decor. Overall, I will probably not be coming back to Sobo and can't say that I would recommend others do so.

I was disappointed because I was nervous to try a new dish that they had just added the same week (no time to get feedback and perfect the dish). I ended up with chicken, brussel sprouts, and potatoes from the keto menu to be safe on the flavors. That did not exactly pan out for me, as the chicken was tremendously dry and overcooked. I did not send it back because I was already starving, but I did not enjoy that particular meal. The potatoes and brussels were tasty though With that, our service was efficient and the restaurant is a nice vibe as always.

I had a several questions for 3 different staff members I encountered and they were all happy to answer my questions and had good energy. The burger I got was unique and very much a craft burger. They have a lot of dry-aged meats here (including their burger), and I thought it was good and still a little juicy. The fries were average fries. I also got an orange crush that was also good, a cider, and sampled their slushies. They have a strawberry bourbon slushie I really liked. I would have ordered it but it was strong and I had already gotten the crush, so I'll just have to come back for it. The other slushie was a coffee one and I'm not a huge coffee person, but if you like coffee, you'd probably like that. Children are allowed here until 7 pm I believe. Unfortunately, they do not do tours (anymore). I'd like to see them bring this back because I'm always interested in the process and also hearing about how things are produced. You order food on one side (and can also order cocktails on that side too) but the beers and others are ordered on the brewery side. You're able to open a tab on either side though and it will be connect, so you don't have to do multiple transactions. Cool interior as well.

Since it was New Year's eve, there were few patrons or maybe this is the usual scene? Don't know. But there are some comfy couches by the front in which a young couple with a baby was nursing. Another couple was just finishing up dinner and started to head out. We were the only two diners for about 20 minutes before another couple came in for dinner. There were also about two or three people at the bar. So basically a very quiet place. No one at the hostess stand, only a woman at the bar. She eventually sat us and took our order. Things were slow but not so slow that I would complain. I would surmise that most of the staff was off that evening. Food was also slow in coming so there might have been a small crew in the kitchen as well. We ordered the mezze appetizer. Nothing to rave about. It was just a plate with vegetables and hummus. We both got the wagyu burger and fries. The whole meal was quite decent. The meat was cooked to the correct temperature and the fries were crispy. It was quite filling for me. Maybe it was NYE but everything was quiet and nice.

The space is gorgeous - super high ceilings, giant chandelier, velvet couches - a very old school elegant vibe. The beer and wine selection were small, but very good. We split the rigatoni bolognese, which was phenomenal. The pasta was cooked properly and the sauce was chunky and tangy and amazing. Would definitely come back for a real meal at some point.

Given my experience with DC and other parts of MD, I was determined to contact them ahead of time and make sure I would have a spot for brunch. But after some contact on IG, they said it's just walk-ins and I would most likely get a table with no effort or wait. I was concerned... but they were right! So we got settled immediately and started ordering. Our gracious server asked for drinks, which have a bottomless option during brunch. We could pick from mimosas, crushes, sangria and bloody marys. I tried everything but the bloody marys, and while they were good, whew there was a lot of ice in the mimosa... I'm not used to ice there, so it threw me off but it was still good! The REAL highlight was the food... the item I got changed my life: Crab. Cake. Eggrolls. They came with this amazing sweet chili sauce and were so filling and delicious! I also got chicken & waffle sliders to go that had a nice kick and the waffle texture was great! My cousin enjoyed his food as well. Also, shout out to the bagel wall that's on the way to the bathroom. It had great options and all the fixings! If I wasn't full I would've gotten one myself. I will return here for brunch.

Got together with a few friends for dinner during the holidays and it never disappoints. We stopped in on a Sunday, early evening around 5:30. Josh is pretty much knowledgeable about the entire menu and gave us wonderful recommendations from food to cocktails. And answered any questions that we had, I wound definitely sit in his section all the time. I highly recommend. Our table ordered a plethora of entrees, from the Chesapeake Cioppino( a seasfood stew with clams, mussels, rockfish, Maryland crab and fennel), a phenomenal dish and perfect for cold evenings. The Rockfish entree was really delicious and I was blown away with the crispy okra. Definitely a nice touch to the dish. It sits in a goan curry sauce, so delicious. You can never go wrong with their burger. The cracked pepper bacon along with the caramelized onion jam was really good on this burger and it was cooked perfectly, nice and juicy. We also had the Shenandoah lamb and the shrimp and grits, which were not pictured, my friends enjoyed those dishes as well. They have nice cocktail menu as well, all the cocktails are named after songs, such as Like a G6 for example. If you're in the Mount Vernon area of town, stop in and check them out. They also offer brunch and happy hour service as well. You won't be disappointed SYOY I
