Love the food but service is iffy. If the service was better I wouldn't feel like it was overpriced.

Roots opened up a location in Grandview recently & it's worth the visit! They're super speedy; have friendly staff and it's a great place to enjoy a meal there or take a bowl to go! All of the ingredients are made fresh and taste fantastic! The pesto kale Caesar bowl is absolutely unbelievable; I'm already addicted! They have limited time special bowls that are fun switch ups like the Garu Korean BBQ Bowl! Check them out now!

Was on the way to the Little Grand Market and spotted this place. Nice to see healthier spots opening up! Their first location is on campus so this is a newer spot. They have a drive thru but I walked inside to order instead. I got the Mayweather. Kale, bulgur, chicken, red onions, beets and more. For the price, it's more filling than Chipotle. I couldn't finish the bowl. Ate half and saved the rest for the next day. You can check the nutrition facts online. Helps to know how you can sub ingredients/customize your own bowl. I will say that some reviewers were correct that the chicken was almost kinda dry. They were generous on the protein but I do wish the chicken was juicier. I also got dragonfruit tea. Delicious! I'll be back. They have a ton of parking spots.

They didn't add all of the ingredients that I ordered in my bowl. It was missing avocado, sweet potatoes, beets, a lemon, snd 1 of the dressings. I didn't start eating it until I got home, otherwise I would have come back and asked for them. I could tell that they used fresh ingredients and appreciated the amount of chicken they added. This location has a drive thru, an app, online ordering, or you can order at the counter.

Good fresh choices. Create your own healthy bowl Choosing among starches or greens (or both!). I love that they offer bulgar wheat. A bowl will set you back, with a protein or feature, about $15. But you'll be able to eat 2 to 3 times off of this and it's healthy. Chimichurri mushrooms were a nice touch.

kale, brown rice, white beans, corn, goat cheese, carrots, boiled egg, chicken, pesto vinaigrette and onions.

The atmosphere was so peaceful that we completely lost track of time. I ordered the Cowboy Burrito, and hours later I'm still full. It was hearty without feeling overly heavy. The eggs were fluffy, the potato latkes added a nice texture, and the zesty cashew sauce pulled all the flavors together. I also ordered the strawberry matcha and asked if they could add vanilla. They were happy to customize it, and it was absolutely worth it. The strawberry and vanilla combination made it smooth, sweet, and refreshing. Before I left, I grabbed an iced Banana Bread Latte with oat milk and asked for it without ice so I could enjoy it the next day. It genuinely tasted like banana bread in a cup--the banana and cinnamon flavors came through perfectly. Great food, creative drinks, friendly staff, and such a relaxing vibe. It's the kind of place where you can slow down, enjoy good conversation, and not feel rushed. I'll definitely be back.

Every item on the menu was certainly written with intention - and it showed in how flavor packed our food was. I had ordered my salad without raisins, and when I received it and it had them, the kitchen was very accommodating in making me a new one. It came out even faster than the first time I had ordered. We went late afternoon on a Sunday, and did not have a long wait time to order or difficulty in finding seating. Peaceful indoor and outdoor seating offered (first come first served) with parking along Grandview Ave. I would definitely recommend this spot if you have any dietary restrictions, or are just looking for some truly creative food that will leave you feeling good after!

Formal Complaint: Unprofessional Management and Order Fulfillment at OSU Campus Location…read more To the Executive Team at Roots Natural Kitchen, I am writing to formally express my profound disappointment regarding a recent experience at your Ohio State University campus location on Father's Day. The lack of customer care, patience, and professionalism I encountered from the Manager on Duty was entirely unacceptable, and doesn't deserve even a half star, but I had to choose one. On Father's Day, my family ordered five bowls, two of which were seasonal bowls made with the original ingredients with the exception of extra lime. One of these bowls was specifically meant for my husband, who is currently in the hospital. I had raved to him about your restaurant, as it was one of the few healthy options he could safely enjoy during his stay. Unfortunately, the meal was prepared with a blatant lack of care. Even after it was made clear that this was a special meal for him, his portion size was equivalent to a half-bowl, and it was entirely missing the onions and tomatoes. Seeking to resolve the issue, I called the restaurant and was placed on hold. When the phone was picked up, the staff member did not offer a greeting, a name, or any indication of who was speaking. I politely stated, "Hi, I was holding for the manager," to which she abruptly replied, "This is." When I asked for her name, her response was unclear and unkind. Despite maintaining a calm and respectful tone while explaining that my husband's hospital meal for Father's Day had been made incorrectly, the manager was immediately combative and argumentative for absolutely no reason. Instead of offering a basic level of customer service or empathy, I was met with disrespect. Your company's mission proudly states: *"We strive to empower people through radical accessibility to natural food."* Unfortunately, the radical lack of care and professionalism I experienced completely contradicts that standard. Because of this deeply disappointing experience, I will no longer be a patron of your establishment. Furthermore, I will not be recommending Roots Natural Kitchen to anyone moving forward, including for any future corporate or community events I coordinate. I hope you address this leadership and service failure with your OSU campus team so that no other customer is treated this way in the future. Sincerely, Latisha Roland

When I order from Roots it makes me feel clean and healthy. I've ordered their pre-made bowls as well as building my own. Portions are big and can serve as two meals. If I order for dinner I end up eating it for breakfast. Ingredients are fresh AF and their dressings are all delicious. Sometimes I question how my build-your-own bowl will come out and I do a good job--it's delicious!! I always feel good about the healthy and clean options here!

We started with a Hot Apple Cider, topped with maple-infused whipped cream and cinnamon, along with a couple of hot coffees. The cider was warm, comforting, and full of cozy fall flavors. Unfortunately, the self-serve coffee station wasn't kept stocked, and after waiting quite a while for a refill, we eventually gave up. For breakfast, we ordered two Mushroom Frittatas, a Fresh Buttermilk Biscuit, and a side of Housemade Breakfast Sausage. The Mushroom Frittata featured three hearth-baked eggs with roasted mushrooms, sweet onions, and Gruyère cheese, served alongside breakfast potatoes and a peppery arugula salad. It was flavorful, hearty, and incredibly satisfying. Although I informed the staff about my peanut allergy, I was surprised to find the crispy breakfast potatoes on my plate, which left me uncertain whether the allergy request had been fully communicated to the kitchen. The Fresh Buttermilk Biscuit, served with strawberry preserves, was one of the highlights of the meal. It was flaky, buttery, and wonderfully moist, pairing perfectly with the sweet preserves. The Housemade Breakfast Sausage consisted of two peppery pork patties that were juicy and well-seasoned, making a great accompaniment to the rest of the meal. Overall, we enjoyed a delicious and filling breakfast with fresh, high-quality ingredients. While I wish the coffee station had been monitored more closely and that greater care had been taken regarding my food allergy, the Mushroom Frittata and fresh biscuit alone make Northstar Café worth returning to.

Fries were fresh and came out hot, and all the toppings/add-ons tasted really good. Only small complaint, the gyro meat was a little on the dry side. Not terrible, just not my favorite thing there. I'd definitely recommend the chicken shawarma or the Greek chicken meat instead, both were really flavorful. Overall, I'd for sure go back (and I did in the same week).

I had been to one of their other locations, so when it popped up I knew it would fit the bill. I arrived to discover a spotlessly clean restaurant with a big dining area, lots of natural light, and friendly faces greeting me from the moment I stepped inside. I went with a falafel bowl with both salad and rice, hummus, tzatziki, tomatoes, cucumbers, corn, pickled cabbage, feta, and two sauces on the side. Their house sauce and their hot option, the green s'hug. I also grabbed a side of fries and one of their housemade drinks. The portion was large, everything was fresh, delicious, and it was cheap. All of this came out to just under $16. Their falafel wasn't my favorite compared to other places in town, which is the only reason I went with four stars instead of five. Overall, I would come back if I'm craving something fresh and healthy.
