I hate giving bad reviews, especially for small businesses. But the coffee I had here was one of the worst drinks I've ever had. I ordered the Sweater Weather which had cinnamon and maple. The cinnamon tasted like a candle, or fake cinnamon. Nothing like a real cinnamon flavor. It was immediately dumped. My husband went in for me because it was raining, so I can't say anything about the service or the atmosphere, but he did say it was completely empty inside. Today was my first time visiting Grandview Grind. The cafe is situated in a strip mall with plenty of parking in the morning. The interior has a few tables, along with books to read and merchandise to buy. I arrived right at 7 AM when it opened. The barista was friendly and took my order after I looked over the menu. I went with the white coconut mocha. The drink includes coconut milk, which is not a personal favorite. The next time I go, I will choose a different drink. The coffee had good flavor and it was pretty strong with an extra shot of espresso. Overall I am glad I found this place on Yelp. It opens early on weekends and they have large latte options. I've always seen this coffee shop and have walked in once but never got the chance to try their drinks. I can one morning around 9:15 and it was already getting busy. Only one person ahead of me at the register, one person waiting for their drink, and a few others behind me in line. Lots of people already sitting on their laptops though! Really friendly staff! Smiley and very nice folks! I ordered an iced lavender latte with oat milk. For the regular size, you get a generous size! It's almost as big as the venti at Starbucks. Refreshing! Espresso is decent, but I would come back and try their hot drinks or teas. Parking wasn't bad in the morning. Today I returned to GV Grind - I bounce around some to different places and the first stop was closed up dark although they should have been open two hours earlier. Fortunately this local shop is ready to go! Clean and tidy inside and they have some great art hanging (which I presume is for sale). I have a friend who is a great bluegrass musician and he & his friends play here from time to time. That's what I love about independent coffee houses. They have a real sense of community and a unique feel that is different from anywhere else - and unique is a good good thing in my book! Super adorbs little study space tucked into a commercial strip mall area. The cinnamon latte was a great way to start the morning. The muffins were pretty solid as well. What truly makes this place a fantastic study place is the number of outlets and larger tables, and the fact that everyone brings their laptop and we all have a fun, socially distanced cafe camping adventure while getting our productive work done. Stopped back by here on a Saturday morning and luckily was able to snag a seat. My chai tea latte was on point, and I was able to get some work done at one of the small round tables. No later than I got here, the place started to get so crowded that some people walked in and turned right back around when they saw that all the seats were taken. It's cute and quaint, it's a small business that's locally owned, the baristas are friendly and great at what they do, and they have local artists' works displayed inside. It's definitely unique! Wi-Fi inside is good. There's usually seating available. It's not exceedingly loud inside. They have a nice selection of pastries. And their coffee is really good (and the beans they use rotates between different great suppliers such as Thunderkiss, Florin, Brioso, etc). I'm not a major coffee person, but I thoroughly enjoyed my caramel-flavored cappuccino. It's hard to find a good one! It was comforting and flavorful, with just enough foam. Grandview Grind had a lot of winter-flavored options; my BF ordered the eggnog latte and really liked it. On the down side, I don't love the decor and there's limited seating, but so it goes. I had the Americano. It's about $3.50 for the regular size. This isn't any more than at Stauf's. It also can be enjoyed better. There's not usually much of a crowd in here. It's a cool looking place so you probably would like to stick around. There's a Star Trek: The Next Generation tribute painting to Captain Picard. Much more enjoyable than other coffee shops in the Grandview area. Comparable prices and good tasting coffee. Try this and avoid the obnoxious coffee hipsters at the other Grandview coffee shops. read more

The Grandview Grind has a super convenient location right on Grandview Ave next to local Cantina. The parking lot is a mess around dinner time, but in the morning I found parking easily. The interior is nice and large with lots of seating if you should want to hang with your laptop. I was greeted by a friendly staff member who stopped what they were doing and took my order right away. I ordered a Lavender iced coffee with Oat Milk. I had the same problem with it that I have with a lot of iced coffee, which is that it's too strong, and overly sweet for my taste. Cold brew coffee is typically a lot stronger, and in my humble opinion, requires more milk for the same taste. Otherwise, it's waaay too strong and bitter compared to a hot coffee with the same amount of milk/creamer. I kind of knew it was going to happen because the girl ahead of me walked out with two iced coffees with that 'too strong/too sweet' look. I've really grown to appreciate Grandview Grind over the years. I probably went once a year for the first three years I lived in Columbus, but I've found myself returning regularly for a couple of reasons. The first is that they make a great caramel cappuccino -- creamy, sweet, and rich, all in perfect balance. The second is that they sell Backdoor Coffee Roasters coffee, and often have it on tap. Backdoor's "The Horse" blend is the best roast I've found in years, as it's very bold and dark, but has very low acid content. I'm happy that Grandview Grind is a coffee shop that proudly champions other local roasters, and it's a great place to get my beans without having to drive north of the beltway. Parking in the shopping center can be a little difficult, as it's in a very busy area, but that's no fault of GG -- just something to be aware of. read more

My new fav local coffee shop! I'm not a fan of coffee, but I am a fan of matcha and they are now my favorite! They have so many flavors you can add. So far i've had an iced raspberry matcha latte. I plan to try all the flavors soon! For a small I believe it was $4.00 which is great! I got a pumpkin muffin and it was very fresh & huge! It's conveniently located off Grandview Ave. in the little shopping complex, right next to Local Cantina. I walked in to discover, what I envision to be, a classic coffee shop. Art on the walls, chalk board menu, a mix of tables and couches, friendly baristas, free wi-fi, a few snacks, and great local patrons. This could easily become my new happy place. Found this little coffeeshop while browsing yelp, and I am so glad that I stopped in! It's a cozy little space tucked into a plaza. What it lacks in views and trendy environment that you may find at Stauf's, it makes up for in its work space, coffee, and baristas! First of all, it is very quiet when you stop in during business hours. You just see various grad students or telecommute employees working away on their laptops. There was construction going on outside, but the café is very well insulated so the sound didn't transfer into the store at all! It is much quieter than the gregarious Stauf's and even my go-to study spot at The Crimson Cup. Even when friends came in to catch up, they were very respectful of the working professionals around them. The coffee was very good! I got the cinnamon honey latte, and it was definitely in my top 3! I wish they served it in a mug, but I was perfectly happy with the to-go cup. I would say that Grandview Grind has some of the best baristas in Columbus - they are just as knowledgeable and capable as baristas at other cafes, but way more polite and helpful. Ok I officially love this place. After having been to pretty much every coffee shop in the downtown, Short North area, this is one of my top choices to get a drink and to catch up on some work. I particularly love this place because they have a larger variety of drinks than a lot of the coffee shops around that only seem to offer espresso drinks and different pourovers. I love the earl grey latte here because they don't make it as sweet as other places do, and the earl grey that they use is a little more floral than some of the others I've had. They also have decent espresso drink options and a good amount of food options compared to a lot of other coffee shops in the area too. I also love that they have a ton of outlets and great wifi. The only drawback is trying to find a parking spot in the area since it is tucked in a busy shopping center. The street parking can also be hard to find since Grandview Avenue is always busy 24/7, but I will typically park in the neighborhood across the street for free and just walk a little more to get to the shop. read more
