The salad tasted really good and fresh. The Walleye too. I liked the fennel salad with cilantro lime rice. I ate half to take some home and not be too full for dessert. The panna cotta was good, mostly because of the topping. It is not something I would order again, being kind of bland, but to no fault of the kitchen. The burger and fries came out perfectly cut into half portions for each of us, which was a really nice touch. We had asked for the burger to be cooked medium rare and I think it came out more like a medium well. The patty itself was a bit dry. This may be a one off issue and we hope to return to try some other dishes.

There is bar top seating too. I ordered the breakfast bowl and it was a lot of food. My husband got the biscuits and gravy, with 4 eggs, and a pancake on the side. Whenever we were done with a plate, it would be picked up by whichever staff was walking by. The waiting space is the only downfall. There is really only space for two to three people to wait for a table inside, comfortably. The staff have a waiting list that asks for phone number. We were called when our table was ready. Once seated, our table was right next to the door and there was someone constantly squeezing in the waiting space about 2 inches from the back of my chair. This was kind of annoying while trying to enjoy brunch. I think the staff should encourage people to wait outside or in their car and assure them they will be called to lessen the crowded entry space/first table.

Unfortunately, they really do not have many gluten free options. The ramen broths have gluten and the majority of their rolls contain gluten. They were able to leave the ponzu out of the peppered tuna, and originally offered gluten free soy sauce...however when brought to the table, the bottle had wheat listed. The owner apologized and said he would be sure to get gluten free soy sauce asap. I ordered the Green Peace roll without the sweet chili sauce (contains gluten), salmon sushi (2 pieces), and tuna avocado roll. All and all I was very impressed with the quality of the fish. It was very fresh! The cuts were also well done. I thought the rice was a bit heavy on the rolls and just a tad too sticky. Produce was very fresh & presentation great on the Green Peace roll. All & all delicious...although missing the umami of soy sauce. Prices were very reasonable and comparable to other restaurants of similar quality. Our server always made sure our waters were filled and was very attentive. Food came out quickly! As someone who is gluten free, I'm not sure I will come back often, as I can find more variety at other sushi restaurants nearby. However, their menu has a great variety if dining with children or adults who are not interested in eating sushi. Overall, a great addition to Powell & wish them all the best on their journey!

The smell of the wood burning is addictive. I got the Barbacoa Torta with sweet potato fries. The sweet potato fries came with a caramel dip!! Stop it!! We also got the Brussels which have a Sriracha honey glaze. We added goat cheese for that extra pop. Before long I was dipping my Torta in the caramel sauce. Heaven!!! My fiancé got the Cherry Arugula salad with chicken and candied walnuts. She couldn't stop raving about it. Listen, I love food.
