Rooter John is an excellent company. They are honest, knowledgeable, charge reasonable prices and have highly skilled technicians. They are very accommodating and understanding. They are definitely a 5-star outfit! They do the job right! The kitchen drain line at our rental property had been backing up over and over again. In the past year and a half we have had the kitchen drain line snaked 4 times. The last time was just 1-month ago. When the kitchen drain backed up again just a few days ago we decided to go ahead and call a company to come out and hydro jet the line. Based on a flyer our tenants found, we picked Rooter John. We checked their reviews and they seemed to be pretty good. When we called Rooter John on Friday we were initially told that they were backlogged and it would be nearly 2 weeks before they could accommodate us. We explained that the kitchen sink wasn't draining and that it was a big inconvenience for our tenants. We said if it was our own house we could muddle through, but we really did not want to further inconvenience our tenants who have been dealing with this issue on and off for over a year. The dispatcher then said she could send someone out that same morning to take a look. A couple hours later Eddie of Rooter John called us and said he would be there in 30-minutes. Eddie actually arrived slightly sooner! We explained the history of troubles we had been experiencing with this Kitchen drain. Eddie told us that their hydro jet truck was tied up on another big job, but they could come first thing the next morning. Then Eddie told us he would snake the drain at no charge so our tenants could use the sink until their hydro jet truck could come back the next day and perform the hydro jet process. We appreciate very much their understanding and accommodation. The next morning Eddie arrived promptly ahead of time. He told us the hydro jet truck was on its way. When the second truck arrived we had 3 highly skilled technicians taking care of our drain. Eddie, Leo and Fernando were great! . They were efficient and skilled and easy to work with. After performing hydro jetting, they informed us that they were hitting major resistance. They then fished the camera down the line to take a look and to show us what was causing the blockage. What we saw on the monitor was that there was a huge solid block of petrified grease in the line. The hydro jet was just able to break a hole through the middle, but was unable to completely remove the block. Eddie was able to fish out a few chunks of the solidified grease so he could show us how hard it was. Eddie then told us that they would need to de-scale the drain using a different snake fitted with a special chain that would scour the pipe and remove all of the solidified grease. While hydro jet service is powerful, it sometimes can not completely remove solidified solid grease whereas descaling service can do. We agreed and they proceeded to de-scale the line. When the blockage was cleared, the crew ran the hydro-jet back through to clear out all the loose debris. On their second pass with the camera they were able to show us that the pipe was completely cleared all the way to the main. Throughout this process all of the Rooter John technicians acted with professionalism, were easy to deal with and clearly communicated and explained each step of the process. We are extremely pleased with our experience with Rooter John. We give them an A+. We will definitely call Rooter John again when we are in need of a drain cleaning service again! The first time I used this company I was very very impressed.... Quick response and fair price.... Several years later I had plumbing issues and was horridly overcharged.... To purchase and replace a kitchen sink faucet due to a tipped hose and to remove / replace 3 angle stops I was charged $775.......to remove an upstairs toilet in order to snake that line and reset toilet was $250 Wow then they gave me a 15% discount so all I had to pay was $871.25. Silly me called them back when a pipe under the same kitchen sink decided to flood the cabinets and floor..... his estimate was $520 and I found a real plumber at California leak detection who got the job done for $350 NEVER EVER USING THIS COMPANY AGAIN read more

BEWARE of Rooter John!! I had a clogged kitchen sink, they sent Johnny out to unclog. The whole time he kept sighing as if he was having a hard time unclogging the kitchen sink. He was very unprofessional with his words. They did the whole song and dance charade, typical if this company. Sink is too clogged up, needs to be hydro jetted, that doesn't work, of course not, they need to upsell! Then they come with the big machine, oh, guess what, there is a tiny hole in the pipe, Johnny says stop everything, we have to leave, you have to talk to my boss 'John'. A short time later, owner John comes, he sees I am a woman, alone for this appointment, and suddenly he is talking about a $20,000.00 job to break out tile around the clean out and more tiles to be removed by the bathroom!!! His current ad in Trending Now OC says "No Dig" Replacement Option......where was this option when he tried to steal $20,000.00 from me!? Then he has the nerve to tell me after I rejected his offer several times, that his company makes all of their money from kitchen pipes, lol. I ended up paying $1,600.00 for the job, but was most excited to get these thieves out of my house!!!!! Be careful people, times are hard for everyone, but companies like these, they only care about lining their pockets with your hard earned money. read more

We called Rooter John for a second opinion on what initially started with a slow flushing toilet due to roots. Spoke to Alex, an extremely helpful and professional Office Manager who made an appt. for Eddie to come out the next day. Eddie explained the procedure, gave us an initial estimate, and mentioned that once the toilet was working, they would inspect the line with a camera. Next day Leo promptly showed up at the appt. time, and worked on clearing/ cutting the roots, and changed the old rusty flange covered in roots. It was obvious Leo really knew what he was doing and fixed the toilet back, without causing any damage to the marble tiles. Once the toilet was working, with the Drain Inspection Camera assisted by Eddie and Leo we could see cracks and weakness in the joints on the sewer line running underneath our property to the street. At this point, John-the owner came out that very afternoon and thoroughly went over the details/technique to cure this dreaded problem. He explained the trenchless pipe repair without tearing up the street. John is exceptionally professional yet very friendly manner and after listening to the proposed solution, we felt comfortable letting Rooter John do the work. Leo was back with a young assistant, Giovani. Both got to work earlier than the appointment time. What stood out most was Leo's expertise, incredibly polite mannerism, and commitment to quality. He is exceptionally knowledgeable in the process, very polite, worked efficiently, guiding Giovani during the process, and addressed our multiple concerns about preventing future problems. It is clear Leo takes pride in his work, he is responsive and easy to work with, and the results speak for themselves!! Your intake person wrote down my number incorrectly -- that's the real issue. Instead of verifying it or checking caller ID (which clearly showed the correct number), you doubled down on the mistake and then blocked me when I tried to follow up. You can rewrite the story however you'd like, but the facts -- and the timestamps -- tell a different one. This wasn't a prank; it was a paying customer trying to get help. Unprofessional from start to finish. Do better. ------------------------- ------------------------- Where do I start? The initial call was great -- the woman who answered was friendly and eager to help. I was even surprised they had same-day availability. I gave my full name, address, and phone number, and was scheduled for a 2:00-4:00 PM appointment. I specifically asked for both a text and a call when the driver was on the way. At 3:25 PM, I called to check in. I spoke with Linda, who was kind and professional. She said they had tried to reach me but "had the wrong number," and that they had also texted. Oddly, when we double-checked, the number they recorded didn't match what I had given -- even though my correct number was showing on their caller ID. Linda put me on hold and came back to say the driver was nearby but couldn't find parking (even though I had a spot reserved). She said they'd call again once the driver was downstairs. Moments later, at 3:33 PM, I received a voicemail saying the driver was actually 30 minutes away. Confused, I called back immediately (3:34 PM), but there was no answer from the number that had just called me. Worried, I called the main line again. Linda answered, and it sounded like she was genuinely trying to sort things out -- possibly by contacting a supervisor or dispatcher. Unfortunately, after waiting 10 minutes and 37 seconds, the call dropped. When I called back, I was told there was now a "block" on the line. That was it. No one followed up. No service, no explanation. Super professional service, right? No wonder I hadn't heard of this company before. What stings most is that this wasn't just an inconvenience -- some friends had planned to take me out to dinner and a Vikings game tonight. Instead, I spent the evening at home with a clogged sink and no plans. We're all human beings, and our time deserves respect. Mistakes happen -- wrong numbers, traffic, scheduling issues -- those are understandable. But the ghosting and lack of communication? Completely unprofessional. read more

John came out inspected the problem and through on this jumpsuit went into the crawl space and found out leak and also our outside pipe had been rusty and needed repair we also had a pressure regulator put in as well. I don't think I've ever encountered more polite, prompt, professional workmen before. They were always cheerful and patient and answered all my (nervously repeated) questions ("Is it going OK? The next day they came out and ran a camera to visually inspect the main and offer recommendations/options moving forward with the old main that I have. Had Rooter John out for a flange and sewer pipe in our master bathroom toilet. My husband found Rooter John from one of those flyers that come in the mail. I am sure glad he called Rooter John. Had the best experience ever, a simple job turned into a long weekend big repair. John was the 2nd plumber we called. He was honest, ran the camera from every angle he could including climbing on the roof to drop it down the vent as our pipe had a sharp corner the camera couldn't turn. Jorge was the plumber on site and was so helpful, clean and such a hard worker that truly loves his job. It took 3 days to replace our pipe from start to finish. Javier showed up to my home per schedule and was extremely detailed and helpful. He was even able to point out a minor issue that the last plumber failed to catch. I did not feel any pressure or upsell from Javier at all and he was able to match the lowest quote I had along with taking care of the additional shower drain problem that he identified. He took 1 day to do all the prep work and the next day to complete the fix. Exactly like he said. He went above and beyond in fixing everything in a timely manner just before the weekend when I had guests staying over. John actually also came out himself to give me the free camera inspection of all of my pipes. He was also patient in payment as I wanted to open a new CC to pay for the work and I didnt receive the new CC until a week after the work was done but John was cool with it and did not once hassle me. Called for a main sewer snake. Informed dispatcher it was a 100' run. Plumber shows up with a 75' snake. Tells me he would run the 75' today snd be back with the 100' tomorrow. But I would have to pay twice. When I went to call the dispatcher, my number was blocked. Tried calling from another phone, was hung up on. Then that number was blocked. A complete waste of our time and horrible service. I do not recommend this company. read more

Came out, checked out my sewer ran a camera down. There could not resolve the problem, but didn't charge me a $ ! :)

My drain was starting to slow down so I thought I would get it snaked before I had a problem. They came out on time but hardly ran the snake into the clean out. He immediately told me that my plumbing was bad and I need new pipes in the house. Little did he know I had had my pipes replaced not long ago. I told him I didn't have that kind of money to replace the pipes in the house again, but I wanted to talk with him a little more. He put his machine in his van, and I thought he was going to come back, but he just took off. No goodbye, no explanation, nothing. When I went back in the house to check the drain, I realized he clogged my whole house up. I called another company the next day, and they had no problem clearing my drains. I don't know what kind of scam this company is running, but I would be very careful about using them. read more

I called to make an appointment they sent someone out right away. I was told two different prices and was told I can change my mind to get same day service if I wanted the more expensive option. The guy would just stay and do the work. Anyway I did the $50 service and then at the end of my service when I paid the guy I paid with check and then I asked him if I can void the check and we do the more expensive he said yeah, so I cancel my check and void it. I start to rewrite the new one for the new price $200 more then the man tells me the office called him and said I can't do that I need to pay both fees however that's not what I was told and then they needed to reschedule me as a new and different appointment time. This is not the technicians fault he genuinely felt bad I could tell it was awkward to communicate it's the company trying to get the most $$$$ I had a difference technician from a different company come the next day and actually told me my issue was different than what the guy was going to do so I saved some $$$ read more
