1st off very cute salon, usually go to hairajuku salon but they were closed and I can never get an appointment. My daughter and I just happen to be in the area and she really wanted to get her haircut even though we had an appointment for mid October. So I went for it, called in the afternoon and a hairdresser just happen to have an opening and was able to accommodate. I looked them up on yelp and they seem to have good reviews. So I went with it. Ugh haircut was ok, we went home and I looked closely at my daughter's hair and it was quite uneven. I paid $95 bucks for the cut. $85 bucks for the cut, shampoo and style which really didn't look styled but whatever. I couldn't believe how much haircuts are these days! wow! Anyway showed her picture, and of course they don't ever seem to get it close enough. Now that I see it up close, she made my daughter look like an Oompa Loompa. Poop, well at least hair grows back. Just sad I had to pay close to $100 bucks for something that didn't turn out very good. However she was very nice and again accommodating. read more

This review is for Marianne. I met Marianne by chance 4 months ago. I was scheduled to see someone else who could not take me. Since that day, she has been my hair stylist. She listens, cares, and is honest about what she thinks may or may not work. For the longest time, no one could look at a picture I sent them and make it happen. I have been wanting to go lighter for a long time, and many hair sylists couldn't quite get there, but Marianne did it. I love my new hair! She also does great goegeous blowouts that last for days. I'm extremely satisfied with the haircut I got from Melissa. I've been growing out shoulder length hair and need to tweak things here and there as it grows. It's been hard for me to find someone who could make adjustments without completely changing the haircut or taking off a lot of length. I was so excited to try this salon out. Unfortunately I woke up with two sick kids and no one to sit with them. They are older, not toddlers. I emailed and called at 6:30am as soon as I realized they were sick to reschedule and said that I would be willing to take any other cancellation in a few days but I didn't want to expose anyone especially as I could be contagious and not know it. They insisted that I pay the $50 cancellation fee and I asked if they could sit quietly in masks somewhere in the salon. They said no because they have immunocompromised clientele. I completely understand that, but I cannot understand paying more than half of the service I was scheduled for. I wasn't scheduled for anything other than a haircut. I understand if I'd booked more services or if I wasn't planning on rescheduling, but I was willing to schedule right then for the very next week. Saw Sam at Rooted salon and she was just fabulous! She was right on time and ready to go when I arrived. Prior to the appointment I had expressed some ideas with her of what I wanted to achieve. During my appointment she asked me my thoughts and opinions and gave me advice on what she thought before we ultimately came to a conclusion and she began mixing the products. She gave me the best head/neck/shoulder massage while she conditioned my hair. No stylist has even done that before, it was so indulgent and relaxing. During the styling process she explain which products she was using and why, which was very informative, but she wasn't pushy about me buying anything. My hair looks and feels so good! Thanks to Rosie & Amarie I was able to get a last minute hair appointment right after Thanksgiving! There have been a lot of other places who have ignored my business due to covid, and the ladies at Rooted made me feel super accepted. From the second I walked into the salon to the moment I left, the women were all very kind & inviting. The staff are all nice to each other & their clients, which made for a very comfortable & friendly experience. I enjoyed my hair stylist Amarie because she was very confident in her abilities & I was happy with the results as well!! They use these cool transportable heaters that rotate around your head when you get color; which I found to be so much more convenient than having to get up & move across the room too much. And I particularly liked the sink where they wash your hair... no neck pain!! The sink was flat and was actually super comfortable and I could have sat there a lot longer.
