    $4 happy hour
    Matt C.

A nice Italian restaurant on Stock Island just off Key West. Big dining room upon entry and an abandoned patio on a Saturday night. There were things that caught my eye. As an Italian American, when you see t-shirts with "legalize marinara" you get excited. You feel like they get you! For me, the food and service for the price was just okay. Now when I'm back in Florida, you bet your ass I'm ordering a Yuengling. Colorado, when are we going to get Yuengling already?! And $4 during happy hour, this was the deal of the night. We shared some apps that got the party started. For my main, I went with one of their Saturday specials, Mahi Piccata. You're in Florida, fresh fish is the name of the game. I sure miss eating fresh mahi, so naturally I had to order it. If this was a plate of mahi only, my rating would be higher, because the fish was fresh and the sauce had nice flavor. The rest of the plate killed it for me. Overcooked angel hair pasta and vegetables that tasted frozen. Both with zero seasoning whatsoever. I expected a lot more TLC for a $35 plate. Maybe we should've went with the woodfired pizzas that seem to be their claim to fame. Service was just okay and we all walked away wanting a more satisfying experience.

Great tasting food, friendly and attentive staff and an amazing and clean restaurant. All this can be found here at Roostica. I had the pleasure of having their Jamaican and Buffalo style wood fired wings. Both were great but loved their island flavor more. This was accompanied by the Brooklyn boy pizza. A decent sized pizza enough to feed two filled with all sorts of meats and flavors. Overall I really liked it here and would certainly come back again to try the rest of their menu.

Hard to decide where to eat when you're in the Florida Keys, but when we're at home, we always end up choosing our favorite Italian restaurant...so.... With that in mind, we had passed this place on our way to a funeral today and just the name stuck with me... When I looked at the reviews, they (for some completely unknown reason) didn't have the highest score amongst their competitors. Still, we dressed and went. Parking ANYWHERE is difficult, but we found a spot and headed inside, passing customers heading to their vehicles with lots of boxes of food...that's a good sign! We came mainly for the wood-fired oven pizza. Appetizers? Hmmmm.... Couldn't resist getting the Italian sausage with onions and peppers to share. The nice plump decently sized links with the roasted onions and grilled peppers along with their house "gravy" (marinara) made our hearts skip a beat when they brought them out to us...only one problem! You expect us not to fight over the 3rd sausage???? A lovely piece of focaccia bread was neatly placed up top and we began our journey...firm but tender, bursting with flavor! These were delicious!! The added bonus of the onions and peppers and THAT SAUCE! Oh my God! Their sauce is literally TO DIE FOR!!!! At least we know where to go for sure when we come to visit family here Our appetizer was followed by our Roostica pizza we ordered but we had them add spicy salami (which we found out they use as their pepperoni...great flavor but VERY SPICY). The crust? THE ABSOLUTE BEST! The sauce? *chef's kiss * toppings? Perfecto! Only drawback was hot VERY spicy that salami is. A little less spicy and it would've been complete perfection. We knocked out that first pizza and decided we'd try another but with pepperoni instead, only to find out they use that spicy salami as their pepperoni We tried another Roostica pizza, but it just wasn't as good without the spicy salami. Darn it! We took half of that one to go back to the BNB and possibly for tomorrow to munch on. Great service here, by the way. Fabulous waitress, enthusiastic and happy to be there. Our meals came out perfect, hot and delicious. I can't say enough good things about this place. Needless to say, we were very impressed. Last but not least, they DO have tiramisu. Sorry, but that and cannoli are my two favorite things in the whole world. I just HAD to have some. Light, creamy, delicious strawberry on top. Again, perfection. I can't see any reason at all this place doesn't get 5 stars from every patron. If you come to the Keys and you're looking for not just good, but GREAT Italian food that's fresh...try them out. I'm sure you'll be more than pleased with your choice!

Im told this a local spot. Well it was welcoming and makes you feel like a local that's for sure. Everyone so friendly, staff and consumers alike. I ended up going two nights in a row. The pizza is delicious. The wine selection is good and and well I was curious about the pasta so had to go back to try that. I didn't regret it. Salad, pasta special of the day (they have one each day of the week, I had the spicy rigotoni). Place is busy, but in the most welcoming way. Good energy and delicious food. Would definitely be back and recommend even if you're from the nyc area and have good pizza back home. Visit this place and feel at home. Thank you roostica for the hospitality and the solid good food!

Exactly as I remember! We shared a white pizza, the Fig and Pig, and each ordered a salad. The water carries were emptied several times and much appreciated. Initially, we thought there would be a wait, but we were ushered into the back patio and had an excellent meal

Great pizza in Key West! The HELLS KITCHEN DIAVOLA - San Marzano Tomatoes, mozzarella, oregano, garlic, SPICY salami and pecorino cheese was great but I tried others at the table too including the TRUFFLE AND MUSHROOMS - Mozzarella, pecorino, mushrooms, prosciuito and truffles, and the BUFFALO CHICKEN PIZZA - The new local's favorite combination! Yes, they were all great! Service for our large group was outstanding and, just going there on a whim, we didn't have to wait long to get the large table outside. Inside or outside, you will be happy here!

I've been here countless times since my first review and enjoy it. I've come to terms with the fact that the appetizers & pizza are better than the entrees. My favorite appetizer is the burrata. With the little toasts and pesto and prosciutto... YUM! Everything else I mentioned prior is also still delicious. The salads are small for the price so I would skip out on those. Also, their lunch sandwich specials are great. The bread they use is just so good.

We ordered a few pizzas for takeout. $54 worth of pizza, arrived to pick them up and they are maybe 10" pizzas. Pizza is good, but don't be surprised by how many pizzas you need.

Roostica is a cute wood fired pizza restaurant that tucked away on Stock Island. They have an enormous patio with complete coverage from the sun and lots of fans to keep the air flowing and the bugs at bay! We tried the lobster pizza was really tasty, but not my favorite on the island. They use warm water lobster rather than Maine lobster which is my preference. I didn't get to try the other pizzas, but I am absolutely certain the other pizza options would be delicious, as the sauce was on point. We will be back again on our next visit!

Definitely think you should try out this place if you're in the area and looking for pizza! The pizza we got tasted great itself, but the portions were rather small for the price that we paid unfortunately. The overall atmosphere was great and the staff was friendly so wouldn't mind eating here again. Steak could have been a little more flavorful but was still pretty good!

Lucked up on this gem via TikTok and that influencer did NOT disappoint! The pizza, bacon spinach salad..house made flan and tiramisu 10/10! Will be replacing the no name pub with this must stop place when heading to mile zero. Let me also mention the full service bar

A locals favorite spot. They currently have an end of summer menu with $12 pastas that are delicious. $10 1 topping pizza is a great appetizer, got it with prosciutto best decision of my life. Only thing I wasn't too happy with this visit was the zucchini "fries." Pieces were too big and flavorless. Service was great !

I think we did nothing wrong. We are professionals, polite, we are 4 professors working for the university in different field, well, one in food safety. We are with kids and the kids behave extremely well, making no noise. But one thing is, yes, we are Asian. Ana Maria rolls her eyes so many times. I feel extremely bad to be treated the most racist way in my life. The kids get water without a cap. We never get refills for water for the entire dinner. She refuses to separate the bills for us at the end, or is it a restaurant wide policy? Yes, we spend ~500 dollars on the food. And it is mandatory to pay close to 100 dollars for a tip, and I understand it because we are party of 8. And We are excited to try everything. We understand it might be a busy day for restaurant, even though we did not get food for a long time but we did not complain at all. But by the end of the day, she says we need space and a table for the others, so they kick us out right after paying the bill. We move out, but no one is using our table. We feel being treated very rudely, so we report to the manager. She is very nice and apologizes to us and waives some fees equal to the tips. But the waitress never shows up or apologizes. I understand she might have a tough day, but this is very unprofessional to do this or highly suspicious to be racist. I want to say, we are professionals, and this won't be the end of the story. We will do everything to make sure the restaurant pays the price, and we have the ability to do it. Update: I reduced one more star for the manager's reply. The service was clearly rude. The manager said they support their team and offered an excuse. This was clearly not an apology. If the waitress was just rushed or needed the work done earlier, we would understand, but the way they treated people was beyond rude. We could see how differently she treated us compared to others. Let's add more details: we were a party of 8. They put us in the middle of the hallway. She kept complaining that we were in her way (it was not our fault!!!!!) She explained the oysters were 12 for a dozen (reminder, she did not mean the price; it was 48 dollars), but she made it confusing or assumed we did not understand what a dozen means. Btw, the CDC is warning about the oyster salmonella outbreak in 22 states, including FL. Unfortunately, I have been having diarrhea for the past two days. Will do a checkup and update everyone.
