Stopped in to grab a slice while doing some dry drinking down Duval Street - there were four pizzas in the case and all of them looked freshly made and delicious - we each chose the pepperoni and after the friendly pizza guy reheated the slices in the oven it came out just as it would have the first time and was delicious. There are a few small tables in front of this small pizza shop for customers only being there is no room inside to sit. The staff here was very friendly and he wasted no time dishing out the pie after paying, this is a "cash only" business which is fine by me I don't like handing over my credit cards anyways, if you need cash there is a ATM near the entrance but kinda like the same thing in my opinion. Yelp showed the business closed so I could not check in during my visit but it's definitely open and appears to be doing well - I sent out a comment to Yelp stating this so hopefully they will correct the posting so other can check in. I am planning to be back in Key West in the next few days, I will see if I can check in then and likely grab another slice... read more

Absolutely unacceptable experience. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. My friends and I came by for a few slices of pizza and instead walked into one of the most hostile and inappropriate encounters I've ever had with a business. While I was at the counter paying, the employee casually said "tips are appreciated." I let him know he could keep the change -- not out of stinginess, but because we didn't have anything smaller on us at the time. Instead of accepting that respectfully, he shot me a look of annoyance and just shoved the pizza into a box without a word. Fine, whatever -- but then he actually followed me outside to complain again about not tipping more, saying I was being disrespectful and that I would've gotten plates if I had tipped more. I tried to explain politely that we gave what we could in that moment, and he responded by saying he almost threw the change back in my face. Another customer, who was waiting on a full pie, actually spoke up and told the guy he was being rude to him too -- that you don't talk to people like that over a tip, especially for basic counter service. Rather than take any accountability, the worker stormed back inside and started complaining to my friend (who was still waiting for her slice). That's when things crossed the line entirely: he used a racial slur to describe customers who don't tip. You read that right -- a slur, one starting with the letter N. We were disgusted. We decided to leave, but he wasn't done. While actively helping other customers, he abandoned his spot again just to come outside and yell at me to "go f**k myself." At this point, my friend calmly told him he clearly wasn't cut out for customer-facing work and needed a serious reality check. Whoever was working the counter at 2:45pm on July 18th should be held fully accountable and removed from that position. This wasn't just bad service -- it was aggressive, discriminatory, and downright dangerous. read more

We come to Key West 4 or 5 times a year and we have affectionately named this place "Drunk Pizza". It's a walk in grab and go place right on Duval open late late late...no one can expect fine dining from a dash and go place, especially pizza. The service is pleasant and staff is always friendly and thankful for the business. The pizza does its job to fill one's belly at a time when most places are closed. We always go back, reliable, consistent and available food for a late night. Who could ask for anything more out of a Duval pizza place? read more

After a night of drinking on Duval, this is the place to pick up a slice. The woman here serving us was really friendly taking our order. Many different kinds of slices are for sale, and hot slices coming out all the time. My favorite is the meat lovers with tasty sliced sausage on it. They prices are cheap, around $4.50 a slice, they also have fountain drinks for sale. They lose a star for only accepting cash, they need to get with the program and start accepting credit card and Apple Pay! read more

If you're looking for an affordable place to eat on in downtown at Key West. Pizza Joe's is your place to go. They have pizza by the slice I think for $5each or you can buy a whole pizza for $24. They have great service. It is a really small restaurant but they do have a few a couple chairs and tables, if you'd like to eat there. We usually get pizza by the slice because it's usually something we eating while we're walking around downtown Key West. it's definitely a lot more affordable than some of the neighboring restaurants. They do not have a parking lot so it's usually a place you would stop if you were just walking around the area. I have family that lives here, so we usually park the truck at Higgins Beach area . We then take our bikes out and bike into downtown Key West area and site see around walk around. I highly recommend doing that. Parking in downtown Key West can be kind of hard sometimes. It also can be pretty expensive. read more

Because there's nothing else open and even if there were, nothing is going to be as tasty. Pizza Joes offers a variety of pre-made sliced pizzas, plus the option to create your own. These are huge pizzas and delicious. We chose the meat lovers and pepperoni slices. Hot and fresh and nothing better at 1am. You can get it to go or eat outside on one of the high top tables and chairs. What I found really cool about this place is that they do not charge police, firemen or EMTs. Love that. The most ATROCIOUS customer service I've ever experienced here. DO NOT GO HERE....unless you want to be called racial slurs, refused service due to "not tipping enough", threatened with violence, and followed outside the established to be cursed at. We came here to get three slices of pizza and we had to wait because the counter boy abandoned his job post. While my boyfriend was paying the counter boy said "tips are appreciated" and my boyfriend told him he could keep the change, because we did not have any smaller bills to tip. He gave him a dirty look and proceeded to simply put the slices in a box and hand it off (not a hard task and took about 1 minute of effort) and I'd like to add he's not a SERVER. My boyfriend joined me to sit down outside and he proceeds to follow him outside standing by the doors and said "I would've given you plates if you would've tipped more, you know it's really rude to not tip in the service industry" my boyfriend was confused and tried to calmly explain that's all the change we had left, the man then said "when you said I could keep the change I almost threw it back in your face". A man who was waiting for a full size pizza tried to help and said "he was rude to me too for not tipping, you don't do much for a tip and you shouldn't talk to customers like this". He scoffs and proceeded inside to complain to my friend who was waiting inside for her slice. We were deeply uncomfortable and decided to take our food elsewhere, he proceeds to abandon his post while in the middle of taking other customers orders just to tell my boyfriend to "go f**k himself". Great pizza for a pick-me-up while walking along Duval! Stopped for a quick "snack" and discovered this local joint that gives free food to First Responders, EMTs, etc. The place is decorated with PD/FD badges from all over the country. The owner was nice and the prices are great too (especially for quantity and quality). The business accepts cash only but there's an ATM right outside for convenience - definitely recommend! read more

It would be really easy to just walk right past Pizza Joe's without a second glance, but I first noticed the place a couple years ago because of their sign offering free food for police officers and first responders. Yes, the place does look like a hole in the wall, but we have eaten there on multiple occasions and it's never disappointed. They have pizza by the slice ready to go but you can also order whole pies with whatever toppings you want. I have had the cheese pizza and mushroom pizza but the others also looked good. read more

I've been coming here for 7 years. This evening the young "lady" who was working was out of control! As I pay and thank her in my native language just out of habit, she says in a loud Brooklyn voice... JUST SO YOU KNOW IM NOT SPANISH! I'm sorry I say, neither am I. Needless to say it went downhill from there as she announced to the Lobby that she grew up in New York and was Sicilian... lord have mercy. I was just trying to say thank you. She continued ranting, telling the next customer that she wasn't a doctor, but that the lady shouldn't drink diet soda. The lady said, "well I am a Doctor, and i would like my soda." She continues to try to dissuade the customer from her drink, saying what is it, do you like the aftertaste or what? Needless to say, she was a HOT MESS! Came here after a night of living it up at Fantasy fest. We were starving and craving something greasy and cheesy! As we were walking by we saw a crowd of people in this huge line, then we smelled exactly what we needed, PIZZA!!!! By the time we got to the front of the line all they had was cheese and pepperoni but cheese was all we needed in our lives! Let me tell you the picture I posted doesn't do it justice because this was one of the best pizzas Ever! It was New York style so it was huge, crispy, and cheesy. The only thing missing was the extra grease we needed to help consume the alcohol but it was so damn delicious. I wish we would've purchased a whole pie! I had two pieces and I felt I could've eaten just one more slice with no shame! It was really a tasty pizza parlor! If your ever down in Key West, don't just eat seafood, try this damn pizza. They are open until 3am. 4:30am on certain nights. It's a small hole in the wall pizzeria. Slices run around $4 bucks and a whole pie costs your anywhere from $22-$26. Kind of a lot, but when in Key West. The guy behind the counter was friendly. Friendly even though he never spoke to me, but he smiled so I'll give hmm that. The downside to the pizza wasn't the taste per say, but that he crust was so soggy in the middle. The crust was on point but the middle of the pizza wasn't great. Hey, I still ate it, but it couldn't have been made better. Two slices and a come hit me for around $11.50. Not bad in Key West. Not necessarily the greatest slice I've had but works in a pitch to sop up the liquor from your fun in the keys . read more

I loved that they gave my Wife a FREE SLICE because we mentioned she's a nurse. How Sweet!! Happened to walk by Pizza Joe's while on a walking food/cultural tour in Key West. I noticed the sign in the window that said all first responders, from anywhere in the country, eat free. It is pizza by the slice in Key West. They use decent ingredients and the flavor is good. They also serve the emergency service for FREE with ID, not discounted by FREE. That is a really cool cool thing to do. I've been here twice in 2 days for a slice and I'll be back for sure. They open late afternoon and stay open until 4/5:00am. read more

We called an order or in on July 5, 2021 around 5:50 pm for one large pizza. The guy said it would be 30 minutes. We walked down to pick up our order for our family. We got there to pick it up. Oddly, there were other customers there but employee had his back to all of us on the phone for about 10 minutes. When he was off the phone and it was our turn, he said he didn't take a phone order. We are flexible and asked if we could order there. He said he had a cheese and a pepperoni in the oven cooking. At first, he said we could have the pepperoni and then when he took them out, we could cheese. Looking back, there may have been a miscommunication amongst two different shift employees. Only guessing. We didn't want to compromise on something that took more than an hour to get. No hard feelings. There is too much competition in the world.
