    Pork tenderloin special on Thursday.
    Melissa P.

The tenderloin special was a pleasant surprise since it is not on their regular menu. The tenderloin was cooked perfectly. Tender and moist. My only issue was that my chips were so over done I could not eat them even with ranch. Otherwise we had a great experience. The staff were friendly and service at lunch time was quick.

    Garlic Parmesan wings

The wings are big and delicious!! We had a pickup order, on the phone they asked all the right questions then repeated our order. The timing was figured perfect, when I got there she just closed the bag. We will definitely eat there again.

I'm afraid I have to write an update. I don't want to leave a poor review. Not for a small business…read moreand not in my small-town area. But the woman owner/manager was AWFUL to me the last time I was in there. And I've heard she does that to folks. That my experience with her, though specific, isn't unusual. I'd been SO excited to meet her, but she thought I was making some political statement or Covid statement or something, because I was wearing a mask while having a drink and waiting for my to-go food. I was NOT making a political or Covid-statement. In fact, since I wear a mask, I'd purposely worn a goat-themed mask IN CASE I MET HER. Which I had hoped to do! But in any case, she didn't care why I was wearing it. Just went off on Covid, on vaccines, on what she does and doesn't do in terms of all kinds of things I hadn't asked about. And when I say "went off," I mean that in the middle of it, she turned to another customer and asked, "How much is she [me] going to take?" She knew what she was doing. Anyway, I got my food. I left crying. I cried all the way home. Usually, I just cry watching sappy TV/movies. The food was good. I'll never go back. It's not about the mask. I didn't bring it up, and I don't care what anyone thinks me wearing a mask. I don't comment on other people's appearances. There was no cause for her to comment on mine. Especially not for something smaller than a scarf that doesn't do anyone else any harm. No one needs to share their opinions or assumptions with me. Anyway, from 5 stars to something much two. And the two is for the quality of the food and Jim, I think, is his name. Whatever his opinions of me, he was kind, and the food was good. A real disappointment BG's turned out to be, though. I would have been there every week. Instead, I happily eat elsewhere.

Morrison's Irish Pub - Alton, IL…read more We finally stopped into Morrison's and it delivered that cozy, old-world Irish pub charm you want when you walk through those doors. I had the Irish cheese sandwich, Justin went with the corned beef -- and both were genuinely good. Comforting, hearty, and exactly what you hope for in a pub meal. Now... the kitchen was moving a bit slow this visit. Was it noticeable? Yes. Was it worth the wait? Also yes. Because Sam -- the female bartender -- absolutely made the experience. Fun, engaging, and the kind of personality that makes you feel like you're already a regular even if it's your first visit. That kind of service turns a "slow day" into a good memory. The menu is packed with authentic Irish favorites, and honestly, next time we're absolutely going to lean fully into the classics -- because this feels like a place that does traditional comfort food right. One small wish: I really wish they made their own chips. The bagged chips were a little lackluster and felt like a missed opportunity next to an otherwise hearty, made-with-care menu. Overall: a great spot that was likely just having an off day -- and still absolutely worth your time. Don't leave without ordering the pear cider. It is absolutely fabulous. Bright, crisp, lightly sweet, and dangerously drinkable. We'll be back -- and we're coming hungry.

My spouse…read moreand I went on a Friday night when Brandon Munie was performing, and we got great seats up under the raised pavilion, further away from the mosquitos and overlooking the lake. It was an incredibly hot evening, but I enjoyed a frozen peach sangria, which helped keep me cool. (The fans up there didn't work, so the frozen drink was almost a necessity.) My spouse and I split a flatbread pizza and a berry salad, too. The salad was fine--it needed a lot more nuts and a touch of salt. The flatbread, though, was REALLY delicious! The frozen sangria was great, too--sweet but not coyingly so. A friend I was with ordered one with a splash of red wine on top, making it a touch less sweet and more balanced, according to her. I'll try that next time. The winery closed earlier than I expected, but the musician was great. Copperdock was still a great place to spend an evening with friends or family. I recommend a visit!

My friend ordered bruschetta and I ordered chips & queso. Both were good and I'd order them again, but there were some other appetizing things on the menu. I had 2 glasses of wine and my friend had 3. I ordered one of the Copper Dock wines--the Cayuga, which is the golden-colored wine pictured--and it reminded us of an ice wine. My friend ordered her own glass of that after trying mine. Later I tried the black n blush. Minus one star because: 1. Though we were seated nearly as far from the live music as could be, it was far too loud. It's a winery, not a concert. Turn it down. 2. The tasting room was closed because it was to be a busy day (Father's Day). It's a winery. Bummer to close the tasting room.
