Wow! If you are fan of the Irish Food, here you can enjoy a real authentic Irish food experience. I ordered for starters the cup of Irish Beef Stew never experienced a stew like this before, go and order that because I don't want to spoil the magic. For Main Entree the Bangers and Mash and for dessert the chocolate bread pudding with a whiskey glaze. Service is wonderful. Ambience is like a small Irish Tavern to help you enjoy the experience. They have live music some days. Parking is ok near the restaurant.

This place has some serious charm. Super sweet bartenders, some quality beer on tap and I saw so many different kinds of cocktails and shots served. It is indeed very small and food took about an hour to get but I would recommend this cozy spot to anyone. Especially for fun food specials!

We went in about four on a Saturday. The food is great. The pub is adorable! The service was good too! It was slow once the Saturday night crowd started coming in!

Morrison's is one of the biggest reasons we drive from St Charles, MO to Alton. It's a beautiful drive and so worth it because the Irish food is so freaking good. The beer is cold and perfectly bubbly. The Irish shots are delicious. The atmosphere is exactly what you think it should be- it's small, usually filled with people and can be loud. Sometimes smells like smoke inside but it's not too terrible. Staff is always super nice and helpful. On Thursday's they do Sea Shanties, which we haven't been able to see yet but everyone talks about. Other nights they have live music. Such a fun pub atmosphere!!

Great bar selection, and personalized dollar bills all over walls and ceiling.

Went there for an early dinner on a Saturday for my birthday. I have to honestly say, this is the only restaurant in Alton that hasn't disappointed me. Do you want to go there if you're on a tight time schedule? No. Do you want to go there with your party of ten? Again, no. Do you want to have a great meal? Then absolutely yes. One of the few times I've been served a proper bangers & mash. The drinks we ordered from their specialty menu were delicious as well. They have some excellent whiskeys as well (Redbreast, etc.). I would recommend checking their web site schedule if Irish music isn't your groove, but we loved it. Told my husband that I want to go back every week!

So Morrisons is my absolute favorite place in the world. Here again on Shanty night but here early as I'm ordering my favorite bangers and mash for SAINT PATRICKS DAY! This place will be so crowded tomorrow so it's time to order now! Always great to see the nice folks here.

I love the small, quaintness of this bar!!! Food is good and beverages are better. The irish music is perfect!! Service is personnel!

Just a shot of the cooler. A lot of stickers and magnets...one of them anti-Trump.

Not really my kind of place - but my opinion doesn't matter, I guess, since a lot of people love coming here. Recently, Morrison's got a lot of attention as the featured Main Street small business on the TV show Small Business Revolution (Alton was selected as the host city this year). Hey, that's great - even though I never even heard of the show! Food was alright, and so was the staff service. I've had their Irish Slinger (see photo) which was okay. I mean, it was different. I thought it would be bigger! It's interesting how they incorporate Irish culture and all onto their menu - like for example, I didn't even know what a boxty was! Or fish and chips (you actually get potato chips, not fries like a lot of other places). That's another thing: the fish and chips were alright. They were no different than other places. Just another reminder - you'll be getting Guinness chips (or what they call 'crisps') instead of french fries. They do have local craft beer, including Old Bakery. And of course, they have Guinness. The atmosphere wasn't really for me. Also, my food took long (well, I'll cut 'em some slack, it was during rush hour) since there was only ONE cook in the back. Owners seemed nice, but their attention was mostly focused on the regulars. They didn't seem to like that I asked them so many questions and that I'm a Yelper. The owners said they are trying to make it a cozy place, and they have succeeded according to some people. They do play Irish music (no Cranberries, no U2, at least from my two visits there) and they do have live music on certain nights. If you are into Irish food and culture, then Morrison's is your place.

    Of course they have Guinness!!

Stopped in to grab a pint, and had a wonderful time. The food looks tremendous - planning that for next time - the staff was very friendly. While I was there, some folks with instruments started playing and before I knew it we were all singing old Irish songs together and having a great evening. Closes earlier than bar hour - but that's fine. It's an award-winning great place for a reason!

    Vino to start with.

There were a ton of TVs which was great since there was playoff football on so it was nice to watch the game while dining. Service was quick and attentive the whole night! We all got appetizers: Toasted Ravs: seemed store bought and not from scratch, but they were cooked well and tasted above average. Crab Rangoon Dip: the dip tasted all right but was not heated all the way through and the chips were not good IMO or stale??? This whole dish was a fail. Shamrock Pretzels: were the best by far, pretzels were soft and warm and went well with the beer cheese, but the cheese was not super warm so it cooled off quick. The main meals were average and none of them were something to write home about: Headliner Burger: a little plain tasting, not enough sauce and the burger was just not seasoned and was just boring. The Sham-Bowl: the dish as a whole looked great but ended up being dry and mundane; lacking taste. This dish was begging for gravy or seasoning to give it some life. The Chicken Finger Plate: fries were hot, but the chicken was a heavy batter and clouded the taste and aroma of the dish. Sorry to say, we just did not have anything great except for the pretzels being our favorite dish.

We sat down and 15 minutes later he came over with menus and got our food order. 30 minutes he came by and said it would be coming out soon. 10 minutes later he came to tell us the order "didn't go back". He said there was a small party in the back. So 20 minutes later our food finally came out. My husband got the patty melt and tots and I had the pork tenderloin with "Irish chips". Hubby gave the patty melt 8 out of 10. Would have been 10 out of 10 if the bread had been actually grilled and not just lightly toasted the tots 9 out of 10. Crispy as they should be. And pretty tasty. The tenderloin was good I would say a 6 out of 10 the breading was not cooked all the way in spots and not really seasoned.. it was Like they cooked the chips or tots over the top of the tenderloin and they stuck to them. So glad I asked for mayo, lettuce, tomato, and onion to flavor it up a bit. My "Irish Chips" were just chips not sure what was Irish about them. Standard house chips nothing miraculous so a 5 out of 10. So over all a 7 out of ten for the food. To go back to the "small party" in the back. We looked when we were leaving and it was 1 table with about 8 people. That IS a small party but not sure how that hindered us being taken care of better. Not sure if the guy was having a bad night or not, but was on his phone quite a bit. At the end of the meal he came over and asked if we needed anything else and we needed a box. He took care of a table next to us with their food and brought us a box. In most instances when someone requests a box it means they will be leaving soon and would need the check, right? We watched him at the bar what looked like texting on his phone and about 10 minutes later he brought us the check. Our meal from entry to leaving was 90 minutes long. I did enjoy that the bar was quiet (pretty much dead) I just wish the service had been a little bit better.
