Wow! If you are fan of the Irish Food, here you can enjoy a real authentic Irish food experience. I ordered for starters the cup of Irish Beef Stew never experienced a stew like this before, go and order that because I don't want to spoil the magic. For Main Entree the Bangers and Mash and for dessert the chocolate bread pudding with a whiskey glaze. Service is wonderful. Ambience is like a small Irish Tavern to help you enjoy the experience. They have live music some days. Parking is ok near the restaurant.

This place has some serious charm. Super sweet bartenders, some quality beer on tap and I saw so many different kinds of cocktails and shots served. It is indeed very small and food took about an hour to get but I would recommend this cozy spot to anyone. Especially for fun food specials!

Morrison's is one of the biggest reasons we drive from St Charles, MO to Alton. It's a beautiful drive and so worth it because the Irish food is so freaking good. The beer is cold and perfectly bubbly. The Irish shots are delicious. The atmosphere is exactly what you think it should be- it's small, usually filled with people and can be loud. Sometimes smells like smoke inside but it's not too terrible. Staff is always super nice and helpful. On Thursday's they do Sea Shanties, which we haven't been able to see yet but everyone talks about. Other nights they have live music. Such a fun pub atmosphere!!

We went in about four on a Saturday. The food is great. The pub is adorable! The service was good too! It was slow once the Saturday night crowd started coming in!

Great bar selection, and personalized dollar bills all over walls and ceiling.

Went there for an early dinner on a Saturday for my birthday. I have to honestly say, this is the only restaurant in Alton that hasn't disappointed me. Do you want to go there if you're on a tight time schedule? No. Do you want to go there with your party of ten? Again, no. Do you want to have a great meal? Then absolutely yes. One of the few times I've been served a proper bangers & mash. The drinks we ordered from their specialty menu were delicious as well. They have some excellent whiskeys as well (Redbreast, etc.). I would recommend checking their web site schedule if Irish music isn't your groove, but we loved it. Told my husband that I want to go back every week!

So Morrisons is my absolute favorite place in the world. Here again on Shanty night but here early as I'm ordering my favorite bangers and mash for SAINT PATRICKS DAY! This place will be so crowded tomorrow so it's time to order now! Always great to see the nice folks here.

I love the small, quaintness of this bar!!! Food is good and beverages are better. The irish music is perfect!! Service is personnel!

Just a shot of the cooler. A lot of stickers and magnets...one of them anti-Trump.

Not really my kind of place - but my opinion doesn't matter, I guess, since a lot of people love coming here. Recently, Morrison's got a lot of attention as the featured Main Street small business on the TV show Small Business Revolution (Alton was selected as the host city this year). Hey, that's great - even though I never even heard of the show! Food was alright, and so was the staff service. I've had their Irish Slinger (see photo) which was okay. I mean, it was different. I thought it would be bigger! It's interesting how they incorporate Irish culture and all onto their menu - like for example, I didn't even know what a boxty was! Or fish and chips (you actually get potato chips, not fries like a lot of other places). That's another thing: the fish and chips were alright. They were no different than other places. Just another reminder - you'll be getting Guinness chips (or what they call 'crisps') instead of french fries. They do have local craft beer, including Old Bakery. And of course, they have Guinness. The atmosphere wasn't really for me. Also, my food took long (well, I'll cut 'em some slack, it was during rush hour) since there was only ONE cook in the back. Owners seemed nice, but their attention was mostly focused on the regulars. They didn't seem to like that I asked them so many questions and that I'm a Yelper. The owners said they are trying to make it a cozy place, and they have succeeded according to some people. They do play Irish music (no Cranberries, no U2, at least from my two visits there) and they do have live music on certain nights. If you are into Irish food and culture, then Morrison's is your place.

    Of course they have Guinness!!

Stopped in to grab a pint, and had a wonderful time. The food looks tremendous - planning that for next time - the staff was very friendly. While I was there, some folks with instruments started playing and before I knew it we were all singing old Irish songs together and having a great evening. Closes earlier than bar hour - but that's fine. It's an award-winning great place for a reason!

    Vino to start with.

Very happy with the food here. With an emphasis on Irish cuisine, you'll find great corned beef and colcannon. I recommend both!

I think it is the proper place to sit when dining alone. No need to tie up a larger table for just me. Let the server have a larger party and make a bigger tip. Once I had, The HOB Chop with Truffle Fries and a Caesar Salad. My salad was typical fare, Truffle Fries were crisp on the outside and the inside was hot and fluffy. The star definitely was the chop. It was super tender, juicy and seasoned well. I'd order again. I have also stopped by a couple of times, just for a cocktail and appetizer. Once I ordered the, Prince Edwards Island Mussels with Garlic Bread. I was shocked to see the mussels were prepared out of their shells. It was a nice switch and the side garlic bread was perfect for dipping and scooping up the mussels. The last time I stopped for a Boulavardier, OMG it was delicious and refreshing. I've learned to ask a bartender if they know how to make one, because so many of the young ones do not. This bartender told me it was the owners favorite cocktail, so it definitely knew how to make one. He nailed it. As my appetizer this evening I choose, Calamari. I have never seen such large pieces of Calamari. I breading was light and crisp. I'm not a dipper, so I really didn't try the sauce. I just simply enjoyed the Calamari. The service is attentive as you'd expect at an upscale steakhouse.

I'll admit to having driven past Brother's many times, and I now known that we should have pulled in and gone inside sooner. Brother's is part store part restaurant / bar... with an impressing selection of beer and bourbon... and also offering vodka-infused whipped cream... and many spices and sauces to enjoy on the food you eat there, or at home. Three of us enjoyed our beer flights - four glasses apiece; my wonderful wife enjoyed a gin and tonic that is made from the bee pea, so it turns a light purple color when mixed with the tonic - nice! We also enjoyed the incredibly good nachos, Midwest nachos, which were excellent...the chips, meat, sauces all paired so expertly by Steve, the owner... we enjoyed two plates, one with brisket and one with chicken on top. These are possibly the best nachos we've had... much meat and beans and sauce and more on top; solid chips... superb!! Sauce-wise, we enjoyed a Carolina BBQ and a pineapple chipotle sauce... Carolina was quite good; pineapple chipotle was amazing! There were many patrons here tonight, and Steve still made time to welcome and serve us, and to help recommend some beers for me to try - most appreciated. We look forward to seeing you again, soon, Steve!

The meal started with bread and butter, which was delicious. The crab cake was also very good. The Caesar salad was a bit bland, and although we requested no anchovies, they were still included. For our entrees, I ordered the half lobster, which was cooked well and enjoyable. My husband ordered the filet, and it was also very good. The broccolini was just okay and had better. For dessert, we tried the salted chocolate ice cream, which was absolutely delicious. Unfortunately, the flaming crème brûlée was disappointing. It is brought to the table while still on fire, requiring you to wait for the flame to burn out before eating. Once it was ready, the top lacked the traditional crisp shell that you expect to crack with a spoon. Instead, there was an unpleasant flavor that seemed to come from either the alcohol or fuel used for the presentation. I think the dessert would be much better if it were finished properly in the kitchen and served without the tableside flame. One of the highlights of the experience was the atmosphere. The interior is beautiful and inviting, and there is also a great outdoor area for those who want to stop in for drinks at the bar or enjoy a lighter meal outside.
