Three of us visiting from San Antonio went here for on 4/12/25 for a dinner-time bite and a drink. We really enjoyed it. The vibe was good, the service was very good, and the food was good. The star of the meal was the Loaded Irish Chips, described on the menu as follows: "House fried chips topped with pub cheese sauce, banger sausage, bacon, and green onions." They were absolutely glorious! The beer cheese, along with everything else described was perfect. The three of us had the beer battered fish and chips as our meal. Overall, it was good, but the beer batter was a little different than others I've had. It was a little thin and tasted oily at the thin ends of the fish. The fish itself was cooked perfectly. If we ever find ourselves in Hannibal again, we'll definitely be dropping in here!

Ok I didn't expect this. Pretty cool and wow, great food, super service, and totally made my night. Gotta be the best Irish dish i've had out of anywhere I've been in the US. If you come in please be sure and try their Irish meals, definitely super... The people who run this place must really have some passion for what they do because it's great. Sorry I didn't snap my meal but I at least got an ounce of inside.

We had been hearing about this place so we thought we would check it out. It was a Thursday night so as we expected in Hannibal, MO it was pretty quiet. There were a few tables filled and the bar stools were all taken. Service was great! The bar tender was waiting on everyone but she was very attentive and the food came out fast. The Bangers and Mash was good and my husband had a Rueben that he said was good as well. It was a great place to have a drink and dinner.

My favorite meal in the U.S. happened when we were passing through the small city of Quincy. I saw online that this place had a pretty good salad bar, so after watching the sunset by the river, we came over specifically to try it. Service The staff were incredibly nice. Since we were foreigners, it took us a little while to order because we had to use Google Translate. Our server was very patient--she brought us our drinks first and gave us plenty of time to figure things out. She even told us a little joke to make us feel less awkward, although unfortunately I didn't quite catch it. Anyway, once we finally ordered, she told us we could go help ourselves at the salad bar. I asked, "Is it just one trip?" and she said, "Don't worry, I'm not going to count." That was great. Food The salad bar was honestly fantastic. It had one of my favorite things: broccoli, paired with a fairly light ranch dressing. I went through two full plates of it that evening. I honestly felt like I was the only person in the whole restaurant going crazy over the broccoli, because when I first started taking some, that tray looked almost completely untouched. There were plenty of other options too: two kinds of creamy soup, four or five types of bread, all kinds of leafy greens, macaroni, mushrooms, and more. Honestly, as a Chinese guy, I could have eaten very happily--and very well--on the salad bar alone. I ordered the Baked Salmon. Well... it was basically a piece of chilled salmon that had been baked, but the real star was the sweet-and-savory sauce. I couldn't quite figure out what was in it, but overall it was very good. The salmon was cooked just right: the sauce and the surface of the fish had developed a slightly crisp, caramelized crust, without the salmon becoming overcooked. When I make salmon myself, I like to roast it with lots of cherry tomatoes and lemon to cut through the fishiness. Their approach worked well too--the sauce and the browning helped balance out quite a bit of the fishy flavor. My companion ordered a steak and gave me a small piece. It was medium well, and pretty good too. Atmosphere The atmosphere was nice. There were regular dining tables as well as a large U-shaped bar, very much the kind of classic American restaurant I had imagined. There was also a fairly large waiting area just inside the entrance, which made it obvious that this place probably gets very busy during peak hours.

Morrison's Irish Pub - Alton, IL…read more We finally stopped into Morrison's and it delivered that cozy, old-world Irish pub charm you want when you walk through those doors. I had the Irish cheese sandwich, Justin went with the corned beef -- and both were genuinely good. Comforting, hearty, and exactly what you hope for in a pub meal. Now... the kitchen was moving a bit slow this visit. Was it noticeable? Yes. Was it worth the wait? Also yes. Because Sam -- the female bartender -- absolutely made the experience. Fun, engaging, and the kind of personality that makes you feel like you're already a regular even if it's your first visit. That kind of service turns a "slow day" into a good memory. The menu is packed with authentic Irish favorites, and honestly, next time we're absolutely going to lean fully into the classics -- because this feels like a place that does traditional comfort food right. One small wish: I really wish they made their own chips. The bagged chips were a little lackluster and felt like a missed opportunity next to an otherwise hearty, made-with-care menu. Overall: a great spot that was likely just having an off day -- and still absolutely worth your time. Don't leave without ordering the pear cider. It is absolutely fabulous. Bright, crisp, lightly sweet, and dangerously drinkable. We'll be back -- and we're coming hungry.

I ordered their pork chop, which came with asparagus and layered potatoes. The pork chop was served with a chutney sauce made from apricot, black, and golden raisins. This pork chop is somewhat unique to St. Louis; it's a huge bone-in chop, nothing in Naples, FL can compare. My chop was cooked perfectly. Now, as to never being here, I am exiting the building. There is a small dining area with an Irish band playing. I turned to my son and said I had been here before, pointed to the table I sat at, and told him I had Irish stew. It was in my drinking days, and I am sure I sang all the tunes with the band.

We were seated and it was even busier. It took some time to order drinks and even longer to order and receive our food. Nothing unreasonable especially given the sheer amount of people there. But guess what we enjoyed our table conversations while the drinks were routinely refreshed and when the food arrived it was perfect. While "just basic bar sandwiches and a burger " everything was prepared as ordered. The appropriate temps. Mostly importantly it was just good tasting. Hats off to the cooks and the service providers! Impressive

When you walk in there's a bar in the center of the room and seating along the walls/area. They have draft beers, specialty cocktails, and a full bar so there's something for everyone. Reading as always is fundamental. There are numerous signs but I'm also reiterating kids are not allowed past a certain hour so if you're trying to come with kids PLEASE plan accordingly. We've had the Reuben eggrolls, corned beef burger, cheeseburger, pretzels, turkey sandwich, and the pretzels for dessert. I absolutely recommend the Reuben eggrolls, corned beef sandwich, beer cheese, and the cinnamon sugar pretzels with blueberry cheesecake dip.
