We have never been to one of these before. Drakes was right across from our hotel. Our server, Aiyanna, was great! Ask for her. The ambiance here is cool. Good music, cool bar, great staff! I had the Chili Mac with a side salad. The latter was kinda small. The entree was fine. It was made with angel hair pasta, so that was unique. I make mine with elbow macaroni, hence Chili MAC. My wife had the 8 ounce sirloin which was absolutely fantastic!!! She totally out ordered me!! She had the baked sweet potato for her side. That steak. Man. Just SO good!! We both agreed the salad dressings here were special. She had blue cheese and I had 1000 Island. It was not orange like the cheap stuff. This was great! Was craving a good steak and came across Drakes add in motel room. Ordered a rib eye. Overdone tough piece of meat. Heavy salt that make it impossible to finish. Upon arrival for our party of 7, the staff person set up a perfect round table. Our drink orders were taken and delivered in a timely old fashioned way. Which is the cocktail I ordered and it was good. Our appetizers sampler platter, Drakes tails, and wings were good. I would have liked the fries crispier in the tails. My brisket, smashed sweet potatoes, salad, and Texas toast were super tasty. Everyone's food was good. Drake's growing edge is they need to update their women's restroom--it needs attention STAT! Well, we probably should have followed our instincts by looking at the outside of the restaurant .. with only a few cars in the parking lot, weeds growing up along the building, windows filthy but we went in anyway. We ordered jalapeño poppers for an appetizer and a cocktail. For the meal, my husband and I both ordered ribeye steaks, sweet potatoes and a salad. The bourbon & cokes were fine. The jalapeños were tough with the poppers & had to use a knife to cut through them. The steaks were prepared as ordered which was medium and medium rare. Both steaks were extremely chewy, stringy and tough and terribly thin too. The flavor of the meat was good. It was the worst meal we've had in a long time. And it was our anniversary meal! After a few visits we won't be returning. They offer menu specials that the prices aren't honored which isn't mentioned until you get your bill. $12 burger and fries turned into a $18 burger and very small handful of half cooked cold fries. Summary: Good but not great food, but plenty of it. Plan on a long stay as the meal preparation time is long and the service is slow as well. Decent food, the smoked pork tenderloin won out over a huge Chef's Salad (tons of ham and a good amount of turkey) and an over cooked Chicken breast sandwich served on an huge bun. The tenderloin had great flavor and was a large portion, easily split by two people. Smoked at the restaurant, the tenderloin was good but not something that would make me feel compelled to return. The side salad is what you'd expect from a lesser quality bagged salad at your grocery store. Iceberg lettuce with a slice of cucumber, a dabble of carrot and a few purple cabbage pieces here and there. You can pay extra for cheese. The Ranch dressing was very good, with the waitress saying it was homemade. The other side was a hash-brown casserole and was nothing to write about. The Texas Toast we were served was more of a French Bread or maybe Italian? Service was friendly but extremely slow. It might be because rather than the staff having sections, they rotate tables based on when the people walk in the door. After forgetting the knife to cut the tenderloin with, it was nearly ten minutes later that one was delivered. Rather than let my food continue to cool, I shared a knife with the other person that had one. No butter knife is included in the silverware wrap, or they ran out. Running out of supplies seemed to be an issue. The waitress whisked away mixed drink glasses as they needed them at the bar. That would've been ok, but she failed to ask if we were finished. Out salads were served on hot plates, which the waitress warned us about as they just came out of the dishwasher. While it was a Friday's night, and there was a steady flow of people, the place never filled to capacity. When we got there, they sat us in a booth. We asked if we could have a table so they we didn't have to get up and let people out. There was VERY clearly a bunch of open tables. They told us it would be a while before we could get a table. It was 2 P.M. it was not crowded. Only a handful of people. So we sat in the booth. After waiting 30 min. They finally took our drink. They brought it back, not right, but I guess at least we got a drink. It took another 15 min to get the drinks. We asked for the sampler platter of appetizers. She came back over and said we are not doing sampler platters today (WTH). You could order the appetizers individual and pay for each one of them separately. So we move on an order. When in reality, we were ready to walk out. We got our food, and my daughter's food had hair in it. The Tenderloin was big but NASTY. It was tough, burnt, and paper thin. If I could give a half of a star I would. First time here from out of town and I am absolutely disgusted. The women's bathroom was out of soap and the waitress said she could not find any. I asked if the employees use the same restroom and she said that they did. Disgusted and starving we stayed and when my "well done burger " came out it was literally bloody when I cut it in half. Got a referral from the Mark Twain Cave tour guide, and were thrilled with the experience. Onion rings may be the best I have ever eaten. Flaky, peppery crust on sweet onions. Just delicious. She Who Must Be Obeyed had the pulled pork dinner. Serving size was enormous, texture was just right, and the pork was smoky-tasty. I had the smoked pork steak. Absolutely fantastic. Service was professional and attentive. The owner stopped by to check on us, and even shared a couple tips so I could try to do the pork steaks on my smoker at home. Great experience. We came into town for mud volleyball tournament this weekend. Last night we decided to try this establishment out. Needless to say it will never happen again. We had a party of 8, which most ordered steaks both Sirloins and Ribeyes. Most of us started with salads which that was not a salad. It was gross lettuce with one tiny cucumber and two little slivers of onion. (But the ranch was good) None of which we were able to eat. Then on to the steaks they had zero flavor tasted like they was frozen and cooked in water in microwave. None were really cooked correctly. Nor did anyone eat more than two bites. The two bites I took ended up in napkin. The bite of potato salad immediately came out of my mouth onto the table and I figure maybe it was just me. Nope. Two others tried which ended up same place. I did address a issue with the server that I wouldn't be eating it and asked if I could just get a baked potato. Which was under cooked. But I had to eat something!One of us ordered pork chops and it was just a grilled pork tenderloin. Got there this past Sunday at 10:58. A couple arrived just before we did and got sitted. By 11:10 we had our drinks and our order was placed. The other couple placed their order right before us. I watched the waiters place their orders in the terminals within minutes of each other. A party of 8 walked in and got seated at the bar cuz they were there to watch the game I watched as the other couple received their appetizer by 11:15. Ours never came. By 11:30 they received their food. We never got ours. I decided to leave but I wanted to pay for our drinks and asked if they could bring our bill. She suddenly came to our table with a salad with the wrong dressing. Stating they were having issues with the soup I ordered. I decided to wait it out 11:40 by now. She finally brings out my soup. 11:45 she brings out my steak, and baby's Mac n cheese and the chicken. Mine was stone cold even tho she warns me onion rings were really hot. Hey, this is a good find if you are in Hannibal. Need a Garmin or damn good navigator to find it. I ate at the bar and was served by Amy who knows how to keep cold beer in front of you and also knows how to pour a good drink. I ordered the Rib Eye sandwich which is about $10 and had a side of Texas Hash-browns. The steak was done just right "rare" on a toasted Texas toast and the hash-browns were in a serving cup. Steak was seasoned very well and was very tender. The hash-browns were actually cheesy potatoes with bacon and onions but were very good. The atmosphere is pretty open but still nice. Lots of folks and looking at the servings that other people were getting they don't skimp on anything. Give them a try. read more

Men's restroom is outdated, always smells bad, and generally dirty. This is the best I have experienced in Hannibal. There always seem to be open seats at the bar, you may have to wait for a table if you come after 6:00 or so, but the wait never looks that long. The service is friendly and the food is good. There is a prime rib special on Wednesdays that some of my colleagues like to have each week. There are nice pasta and salad options for the herbivores as well. It is a little difficult to find. On the west side of 61, set below street level. This was an amazing late lunch! The service was incredible and so was the smoked meat! I can go on for hours about how great this place was, and being pregnant that's saying a lot! I'm very critical when it comes to my food but I have no complaints here. My husband said their smoked pork steak was the juiciest and most flavorful he has ever had and their smoked pulled pork was just as good! You can tell their food was home cooked and so so fresh! This is the place I go to for meat when I'm in the area. Grilled, smoked or fried they cook it anyway you need. The burgers are made so you know your in a steakhouse. The pork chop, pork steaks or ribs fall off the bone. You can smell the steaks from a mile and they melt in your mouth. They even have catfish or salmon which I also highly recommend. The sides are not just an afterthought they really take care to make them right. You gotta try the Texas hash brown casserole. The place is on the older side and could use a little touch up but once you dig in you probably won't even notice. read more

When asked "what's good?", she said without a hint of embarrassment "you kind of came on a bad night". Meaning - they were out of most steaks. Been here twice, and the food is pretty good. Decent beer selection, too. Everyone in my party enjoyed their meals. Huge proportions, and a great variety of choices.
