We ordered the giant tenderloin sandwich and homemade chips. I've had a lot of tenderloin sandwiches all over the country. This sandwich is the biggest, THICKEST, tasty tenderloin I've had. It was legitimately a "4 person sandwich" sandwich under $16. There was only one person working the entire dining room and bar, and he was working hard. Yes, he couldn't keep up at times but he did his best. We sat at their outside tables and enjoyed the day going by. Others have had different experiences here but we liked our overall time. Fine for a beer at the end of a day of driving and then exploring Hannibal, the bar had a bunch of locals having a lively discussion as I set up on a big table that had a power outlet nearby. When ordering, the cook was at our table, a member of our party asked for just flat wings. The cook said, "I guess, but that's a pain in the a$$." He then went outside and smoked a joint. Hello, whiskey! Had the strongest "Old Fashioned" of my life slumping... I mean sitting on a stool at the bar. Pretty much had to hang on for the burn to stop. Bartender noted that he was out of cherries, but that I shouldn't mind, and I noted that he must also be out of ice, bitters, and any sort of syrup or sugar cube. So, really, it was a straight whiskey double... which, once the burn subsided, made me feel... just fine, thank you very much! Now, if you are used to such sprits, then this might be your favorite place! My husband- who is a bit classier than I- enjoyed (both) of his G&Ts, while he also seemed to enjoy watching me fall apart. The music is LOUD, the decor features dead animals- umm, trophies, I guess, including a skunk, which was a new one for me. There were lots of magnificent birds and deer, and other less usual things. Was it magical? Umm, sort of. Would I go back? Why yes... yes I would. Would I order an Old Fashioned? Don't be ridiculous. Get a whiskey. Or a beer. It's more that kind of place. read more

Went back twice! First time, the bartender was super helpful helping us find a place for the night during our impromptu visit. Second visit that night we played pool and had pork tenderloin and catfish. It was delish and the bartender was super friendly! We will definitely be back with friends. read more

If you love craft beer, go here. This place always has the best tap selection of craft brews. They have 20 beers on tap and usually have a nice selection of local and national craft brewers. Daily food specials, the catfish sandwich with bleu cheese and slaw is off the charts! read more

HORRIBLE SERVICE! Waited well over 30 mins for a drink and had to ask 3 bartenders. The fist one told me she was too drunk and couldn't help me, another said she'd be right back and never did and the third one started making our drinks then started helping other people and didn't come back. Stopped for the night in Hannibal, not much was open they had a sign outside for their "Ultimate grilled cheese special with fries. I went in ordered a beer and the special. The beer was good but they didn't make that. The grilled cheese was not the bartender's fault but they should of had a sign out that said kitchen closed because food like that will put you out of business! read more

I'm torn. The special of the day was a tenderloin sandwich and Mac and cheese. The sandwich was delicious; the meat was very well seasoned. It came on a regular bun with lettuce, tomato, onions and pickles on the side. The Mac and cheese was kraft straight out the box ... but not straight out the box because the second bite I took was a hunk of ice. My coworker told the waitress it was cold (we ordered the same thing), she took them to the back and put them in the microwave and brought them both back on the same plate. In old town Hannibal, you need to stop by Rumor Has It for a craft brew, or one of the best sandwiches you will ever have!! it's in he heart of historic Hannibal so the walking around factor is amazing. The sandwiches were great...I had a hot ham and cheese sandwich that was served on super thick homemade bread...a.m.a.z.i.n.g. I still had lots of driving to do that afternoon so no craft brew fun for me...but the list of available brews was impressive and there were lots of local beers to try. They also had a "flight" of beers for those that want to try five different brews... Lots of history...great food...craft beer... Pretty much all you could ask for!!! read more

I've eaten at Rumors several times over the years when I'm in town and the food has always been 'good barfood', very fair price. I have to say, I stopped by there today with my son, who got to choose where to eat after a movie, with grandiose promises of a good cheese burger. Rumors has upped their game on their menu and We had a great experience! Sat outside on a beautiful day, I ordered a burger despite my hang up on 1/2 lb burgers being fork and knife material. It was not at all and it was awesome. My son ordered a dog off the kids menu and let's just say it was huge and awesome!! We split each other's food and it was really a pleasant surprise. There's been a lot of updating, modernization, and new construction in downtown Hannibal over the past few years. Wine bars, cocktail bars, and a craft brewery are a few such developments. And although Rumor Has a few craft kegs hooked up, they've largely resisted becoming something other than an excellent, chill, neighborhood bar. Very friendly people inside, even/especially to visitors. Good service at the bar, good happy hour specials, and overall a great place to hang out. read more

Good simple bar food at reasonable prices. I got the cheeseburger and it was fine. Kids got chicken tenders and grill cheese. Both were fine. Only negative would be that there was only one woman working up front who was waitressing for the entire restaurant as well as bartending. She was doing the best she could but she needed more help. Arrived for lunch. The wait was not long at all and staff was nice. Ordered the pastrami with fries. They used American cheese instead of the Swiss cheese as stated on the menu. I was amazed by how GOOD their ribeye steak was. Great food interesting atmosphere.

First, we went in and went upstairs. Our server, Carson, was outstanding. He suggested beers to order and they were good. He took our 4 orders including appetizers without writing them down. The food was very good, hot and fresh. We left and walked around town, then returned for drinks and sat at the bar downstairs. This time the experience was terrible. The female bar tender had an attitude, wouldn't even smile. She even made a comment that if anyone else ordered a flight of beer she wasn't pouring it. This is sort of ridiculous, considering she works at a brewery. We then asked about the availability of a certain Brew to take home in a growler, and instead of checking with us on the price and flavor they simply poured it, almost forcing it upon us. read more
