I wanted to only stop by for a few drinks but I definitely enjoyed my visit simply because it felt like I was back in time into a 1870s saloon but it's way more modern. It's got cool Pina Colada wine slushies. Bands are featured here. Coming here late at night too is just great simply to engage with the locals around here and not really bump into any tourists. Bathrooms are clean, establishment itself is very clean. Prices are fair and the bartender was really friendly. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the area.

Considering most of the patrons were drinking light beer, we didn't expect a lot in terms of the cocktails, but we underestimated this place! The friendly and very competent person behind the bar (could have been the manager, not sure)- was happy to take your likes & dislikes and make a recommendation. From mezcal margs to black walnut old fashioneds, my husband and I both thoroughly enjoyed our well made drinks. Also relative to Chicago - a total bargain!

Accordingly the Merchants Payments Coalition the credit card surcharge/admin fee, has increased from 2.02% in 2010 to 2.35% in 2024. Now while I agree this seems a little high, it's not catastrophic, and I have trouble believing this 0.33% increase has directly led to this brave new world of bifurcated billing: one price for cash and second price that is somewhat more than 0.33% greater. Well it has at the The Brick Oven, as I was charged 3.75% (see photo). If your going charge me more to use my credit card, then you need inform me. And as the only thing I really demand from capitalism is transparent pricing, do owners really want to start off my dining experience with a review of how it ends? Well instead this place chose to avoid this checkered conversation by annotating the bottom of my bill accordingly. Dining here was supposed to a moment to relax with my wife and think some very Twainian thoughts, and not about conducting some financial analysis. But I guess that's the last memory the owner wants to impart. Our server (the guy who lives above the place), was excellent and I feel bad about taking the difference between 3.75% and my 2% credit card cash back out of his tip, but something must be done. Btw: Whenever I'm asked to choose between paying more or paying cash, I always have a distinct feeling it's less about saving a dollar in credit card fees and more about saving 20 dollars in taxes.

Mini-fridge in the room along with a coffee/tea maker. All staff I encountered were pleasant and professional. Nice restaurant with good food right next door. There was nothing in the room listing the channel guide, and when I did get a guide on the tv, it wouldn't let me utilize it, e.g., guide on screen, arrow keys to move around instantly went to a channel. From the moment you walk in, you can tell how much pride and passion the owners have put into creating a place that feels welcoming, fun, and full of personality. They've built something really special for the Hannibal community. The menu is honestly bigger and more diverse than most local restaurants. Whether you want great bar food, a full meal, or just appetizers to share with friends, there are tons of options and everything we've tried has been delicious. One of my favorite parts of JDubbs is all the licensed sports memorabilia throughout the restaurant that is actually for sale! It makes the space feel like a sports fan's dream and gives the place such a unique vibe you don't see anywhere else around here. And you absolutely cannot leave without ordering the spicy Bloody Mary. It is hands down the best one in town, perfectly balanced with just the right kick. I've tried a lot of spicy Bloody Mary's, and this one beats them all. Amazing owners, great food, fun atmosphere, and one of the most unique spots in Hannibal.
