Nice diner. Great service. Good breakfast. We were there at 10:15AM on a Friday. The waitresses tag teamed when needed and our waitress was moving fast, Not lazy. Very friendly. We had a cinnamon roll with coffee to start. Amazing! We eggs, bacon, sausage and hash browns between the two of us. The bacon was smoked and meaty. The sausage has great country flavor, and the hash browns had a nice mix of baked and potato meat mix. This is a small diner with a local feel. read more

As a fan of Mark Twain, I chose to have breakfast here before starting my day in Hannibal. I was a little disappointed that it didn't have any references to Becky on the walls, but it definitely had the looks of a cafe, with its checkerboard floors and homages to the 50s here and there. I kept my meal simple and had bacon and eggs with wheat toast and hash browns. It was good enough to keep me going in the sweltering heat that was creeping around me from outside. The service was good and very attentive. I'd recommend this to anyone looking for a comforting breakfast. read more

The service was great and the food was pretty good. I got the Corned Beef Hash with over easy eggs. The eggs were cooked well, and you could tell the Corned Beef Hash was NOT canned. It tasted good, and the beef had been trimmed up well. Nothin' hangs me up quite like comin' across gristly or fatty beef! They did it well. Was interested because of their homemade hash so we stopped in for a bite. We both ordered the hash and egg meal and while homemade, it wasn't what we had hoped for. It was OK...just not as good as we were expecting. As for the remaining parts of the meal, I have to admit the coffee was not good at all. In fact, I could not drink it. It was bitter and lacked a good coffee taste or aroma. On the plus side of the ledger, our server was very nice and we enjoyed our visit with her. Would we go back? Probably not. We got enough of the decor and the music from the 60's to our satisfaction. read more

Having driven past Hannibal many times we decided it was time to have some breakfast & check out this historic town once and for all. After stopping at another restaurant and being told the wait was an hour we decided to go somewhere else & we ended up at Becky's. First thing we noticed as we walked in was how cramped the place was, all of the tables were basically on top of each other but we felt we had no choice but to stay at that point. We sat down and it took our server about 8 minutes to acknowledge us so it was a bad start. Eventually she came over, we placed our order & it took approximately 40 minutes to recieve our food which is pretty unacceptable to me. The meal we had ( Reuben & an Omelet ) was edible. With pretty poor service & being shoved in like sardines I think we will decline coming back next time we are in Hannibal. read more

Downtown Diner in Hannibal Mo. Authentic local establishment located in the heart of Hannibal. The very best ham steak I have ever had and considering I'am 83 that's saying something. My ham steak breakfast was excellent cooked perfectly and served with a smile . The service was great . My son had the two egg breakfast with bacon which was cooked perfectly. Couldn't ask for a more delicious breakfast. The local flavor is outstanding so yes, I highly recommend the Betty Thatcher restaurant. read more

I was a little disappointed by this place given the other favorable reviews. It's a neat little place, clean and comfortable inside. I'm a sucker for good diner food, especially at breakfast. What we had, at least on the day we were here, was just okay. I went for "The Old Buick" which was a bed of home fries topped with onions and peppers, ham, sausage, bacon, cheese, gravy, and two eggs (over easy in my case). The potatoes were all pretty much burnt. The gravy helped mask the char and they were still okay taste wise. The eggs were cooked great, the gravy was kind of meh, the breakfast meats were all decent. My wife had the half stack of pancakes which she also thought were okay-decent pancakes, everything else on her platter was satisfactory. The service was kind of lacking, though it may have been an off day. No one was unfriendly and food service was relatively quick as far as taking our order and delivering it goes but they didn't give us silverware when we sat down and after dropping our food off it took another 5 minutes to get said silverware so we simply watched our food cool as we waited. A few other similar issues but nothing terrible. If I lived in the area I'd certainly come back and give them another shot. read more

This place was hopping when we were there about noon on a Friday in August. Great service- waitstaff checked back frequently. Retro diner- nothing fancy, but cute in it's own way. My husband had breakfast for lunch- most was fine, but the eggs were watery. I had the Midwestern omelet- also watery, and the diced meats inside were cold... the cheese wasn't even all melted. I should have said something, but they were super busy and honestly, after a bite of cold ingredients inside the omelet, I lost my appetite. The hash browns were just how I like them- done and crunchy. My advice- stick with the hash browns! read more

Nice people quaint local breakfast place. Super clean Address is wrong though. Don't turn on bird st. It is on 213 N. Third St. Hannibal. My husband got the pie on pi where they put bacon eggs and biscuits on top of each other and covered with gravy. He loved it! I got a regular breakfast with eggs and hashbrowns and biscuits and bacon. It was delicious too. I would definitely eat here again. read more
